Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 1354 - 28: Life Completion Manual (Part 1)
"Drip drip..."
In the cold and damp shipyard, two or three drops of water, whose origins were unknown, occasionally dripped from the ceiling. The murky droplets splashed onto the ground, producing a clear "tick-tock" sound with regularity.
In front of the dock, Fisher was holding an unconscious demon servant in each hand, casually threw them on top of the hull they had prepared earlier, then turned around and lifted the chain blocking the dock, revealing the sea outside that reflected the sun in the sky.
Then he came back, giving the hull a gentle push, slowly sending it out into the ocean beyond, leaving them to fend for themselves.
These two were sent by the demons to deliver a message, but the matter itself had nothing to do with them. Whether they lived or died didn’t matter; Fisher simply didn’t want to give the hungry Soul Completion Manual a chance, so he let them go.
He then headed towards the entrance of the shipyard to look for Sir Emhardt, who had been knocked out somewhere by Helair with a flick of a finger.
Fortunately, this guy would still moan once or twice even if severely injured. Following his raspy voice, Fisher quickly found the also unconscious Sir Emhardt in front of a sealed window.
"Wake up... wake up."
Fisher reached out and lightly fanned the closed eye of his book cover, but he never woke up, so helplessly, he pinched the spine of his book and began shaking it.
"Clap clap..."
To be fair, this actually worked. As he shook, Emhardt groggily opened his single eye and muttered in a daze,
"Pai... Paimon?"
"She’s gone."
"Gone... gone?!"
At the thought of that terrifying figure, Emhardt, who had just been in a stupor, immediately fluttered his pages and flew up. Fisher let go of the book’s spine as he continued to ask Fisher,
"What happened just now?! Why did she come, was she trying to take you away?"
"No, she just said some things related to previous matters, that’s all."
"You... don’t believe her, not a single word! She’s surely deceiving you!"
Fisher looked at the now floating Emhardt, and after confirming he hadn’t been broken by Helair, he put his Praying Tower robe back on, ready to head back to the Praying Tower.
But before he could take a step, Emhardt had already flown in front of him, blocking his path,
"Hey! Fisher! Did you hear what I said? Everything Paimon says is nonsense. Don’t believe a single word or phrase!"
"Yes, I know."
"Don’t just comfort me verbally, while thinking to yourself ’ah, my wife is worried about me’, ’ah, my wife is too kind to me’ with those irrational thoughts. Paimon is not one of those demi-human little ladies you know, she’s a bona fide demon! A devil! A true demon! Even more demonic than a demon!!"
Emhardt stood on Fisher’s shoulder, anxiously persuading him,
"That figure absolutely wants to devour you entirely, leaving no trace!"
"Yes, I’m aware."
"Damn it!"
Emhardt couldn’t decipher Fisher’s true thoughts at that moment because his face was calm, revealing no particular emotion.
Emhardt was just concerned he might be deceived by that sly woman. In his eyes, Paimon and the other ladies Fisher knew are not on the same level or rank; any misstep could send him falling into the Abyss...
So, what was Fisher thinking now?
Was Helair telling the truth?
Logically, everything Helair said made sense: with Gui vouching for her in advance, she would particularly watch over him when he first traveled back from the future. Moreover, Fisher had indeed met Gui, who was also unusually kind to him and wasn’t even slightly angered upon discovering he used the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual to bind her.
Additionally, Gui did say that he was very special, which might be demonstrated by the fact that he read more than one Completion Manual without incident, or the mysterious songs he encountered when entering the Mythical Rank, or perhaps it’s shown by his ability to jump into the Ocean of Chaos without suffering the corresponding Pollution.
Perhaps, because of his unique nature regarding chaos, Gui would assert he is key to resolving the Doomsday Prophecy, and he would thus conceive of using chaos to counteract the chaos-induced Doomsday Prophecy.
Helair didn’t want him to do this; she opposed him further utilizing chaos, as it’s an extremely dangerous concept, where even a slight mistake could lead to severe consequences, akin to those caused by Transferees.
The logic is perfect, and Fisher thinks her actions and thoughts were justified, yet he still sensed something odd in the details.
Even if Gui intended to guide him into the Mythical Rank of chaos, to further engage with chaos, and even told Helair about it hoping for her help, Fisher couldn’t figure out the reason Helair, who had no interest in the future, would agree to help Gui.
From the mirror of Gui that Helair possessed, it’s apparent that there was a connection between them. However, in terms of the reasons and how they reached consensus, Fisher always felt that Helair was still hiding something.
