Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf
Chapter 134: Sanchez In Action (1)
The high priest came out with other priests and monks, Adrian could sense a threatening aura from him.
The high priest was an occult mage, his power was based on the spells he can cast not personal esper.
Which is why he was able to enter the city even though he was this powerful. As long as he did cast a spell above level 2, he was fine.
Of course, due to his strong connection to his channelling artefact, unlike the other priests and monks, he had a bit of esper but not even enough to qualify him as ah Espara.
Adrian couldn’t tell his level but by the threatening aura he figured he could probably cast level 3 spells at the very least.
On the other side, the agents of the organisation also followed behind the director.
Unlike the high priest, his power was really only limited to level 2. They stood on opposite sides with werewolves at the centre.
Adrian merely gave them a glance then closed eyes. Suzie addressed them and after exchanging a few words.
Both parties left. Adrian felt a wave of esper saw a barrier rise up around the city centre. Agents and police closed off the area.
Normal people could no longer come through, not even the media was allowed through.
Seeing priests and monks around, the people naturally concluded some tragedy had occurred.
This drew the attention of the media even more but they couldn’t even get a glimpse of what was happening.
The barrier had sealed off the sound entire and it was invisible to normal people. To them, the place looked normal.
An illusion had been casted by the high priest confusing the senses of everybody present.
Sanchez arrived with the other police, she made a call. Suzie answered the phone," Detective, how nice of you to call."
" Cut the crap Suzie, what the hell is happening? Why is this place closed off and we’re those explosions related to you?"
" Detective, you can’t accuse us like that, we had nothing to do with those and some of our people were hurt in the process."
" Fine, I need to talk to Adrian, put him on the phone."
" No can do, my lord is currently occupied detective."
Sanchez clicked her tongue, " Him and I had a deal, I have a case for him, it’s a..."
Suzie cut her off before she could continue, " I already told you detective, we’re at war, my lord has no time for your cases, solve them yourself."
Sanchez gritted her teeth, she promised the family she would get their children back, she was betting on Adrian.
What would she tell them now, " Ca.. can’t you spare even one person? Please Suzie I need all the help I can get."
" Detective Sanchez." She heard Adrian’s voice and her hope was reignite.
" Adrian, thank god, I really need your help please tell me you’ll come."
" I will not." He answered plainly shattering all the hope she had. " However if you tell me what’s you’re looking for I might be able to help somehow."
" How should I know what I’m looking for, I know nothing about these things."
" Explain everything you saw, every little detail, perhaps I can tell what Gadra you’re looking for."
" Okay, I’m not exactly sure but two children went missing, neighbours who were having a slumber party.
According to the parents, they heard nothing and we’ve done everything but there are no finger or foot prints in the house."
" Mhhh, was there anything else, was the door unlocked and if so, from the outside or inside?" He asked.
" Now that you mention it, the window was unlocked, I thought the parents had forgotten to luck it.
I’m not sure if this is relevant but there was also a strong scent of methane in the room."
" Okay good, I can think of a few creatures from that information. How many children were in the room?"
" Five but only two were taken and incase you think the children might know something, I’ve already asked them, they don’t."
" The two children who went missing, were they in a bed or floor?"
Sanchez was confused from the other end, " The floor, is that relevant?" She asked in a confused voice.
" Very." Adrian answered, " There’s only one creature I can think of, while I can’t be certain, you’re most likely dealing with a Tokoloshe."
" What is that?" She asked.
" It’s a spirit, a witches familiar created through dark magic."
" Like that Wendigo?" She asked with fear, she remembered how powerful that thing was.
Had fluffy not been there, she would’ve died, her gun was completely useless against it, it was like shooting a steel wall.
" Not exactly, a Tokoloshe is much smaller and much weaker but they’re invisible and immune to any physical damage."
" Then how do I hurt something that’s immune to physical damage, can I burn it?" She asked.
" No, it’s a spirit so only salt and pure iron can hurt it, you can also bring Fluffy, while she was can’t kill the thing she can at least protect you."
" Do they have any other weaknesses, one that won’t require me to get close to them perhaps?"
" Yes, they can’t climb a bed, I’m not sure how that will be useful." She tried to speak but he hanged up.
Suzie and John drew closer to him, John conjured his silver shield and stood in front of him defensively.
Adrian could of course see that he was mostly protecting Suzie, after all she was weak physically compared to other werewolves.
He said nothing and waited, he could see the vampires trying to encircle them, they hid amongst the crowd trying to blend in.
The organisation and the church had also noticed them but they had to stakes in this fight.
They just wanted to protect the humans and that’s all. " Should we go after them?" Sam asked while yawning.
Suzie shook her head, " If I may, that would be unwise." She told Sam while looking at him like he was an idiot.
" The goal is to defend this statue, killing those few wouldn’t matter if the older monsters can come in."
Adrian nodded, " She’s right, we stay our ground and wait." He closed his eyes as if resting.
Sam was all too happy to hear that and actually went to sleep, " Wake me up when they act."
Everybody ignored him and stood around the statue defensively. Strangely, the vampires didn’t act.

Sanchez on the other hand started preparing for her own mission. Fluffy waged her tail next to her.
" Good girl." Sanchez rubbed her neck making the dog even happier.
