"Hide somewhere."

Ray didn’t need to repeat his words; Jade started to move away from the battlefield.

"Not so fast." Scarlet’s body twisted, and with a speed beyond human limits, she launched herself toward Jade.

Her blade was stopped midair by Ray’s scythe; their magics clashed as another strike came from the immortal. As Ray dodged it, the sky turned into a sea of blood spears. With a single command, Ray let go of all of them at the same time: Kill any living thing.

Before they could reach them, a pink light burst out of Aria’s body; now with both of them being level 8, their powers started to clash in the sky.

Ray attacked from the side; instead of blocking it, Scarlet simply moved higher, but Orcus expanded like a whiplash going after her. As the blade wanted to reach her spine, a new field got activated around her body.

With repulsive force, all matter around Scarlet’s bosy started to move away from her, making winds so strong that the magic field in the air was being pushed out of the festival.

Using the new force, with the winds as his support, he threw Orcus toward Aria, with thousands of blood projectiles on her way.

Scarlet moved once more; her speed was much faster than her repulsive field. With bare hands, Ray took her strike with his hand. From the palm to his shoulder was cut in half, but with ease it returned to its former state.

With the field itself blocking most of his attacks, Ray changed his strategy. Scarlet came again from her blade at hand, trying to cut him in half with a small movement. The blade found his shoulder instead.

The arm in the air transformed into blood ropes, locking around Scarlet’s cage; for a second she couldn’t move. With a smile Ray said:

"Slayer’s door."

Scarlet’s expression turned into an excited face as she started to activate her domain too.

"Gravi..."

Her spell was stopped mid-sentence as Ray’s kick hit her face straight, throwing her back to the other side of the arena, yet something pulled her back; Ray’s punch hit her face once more.

Ignoring the pain, Scarlet countered the attack by kneeing him in the side. Both took a small distance from each other, with the challenged Scarlet dismissing her weapon and attacking with her bare hands.

In a close combat fight, both of them wanted to test the other one’s skill, yet no matter how much each one tried, they were equally matched. Ray was able to land a few more hits, but Scarlet’s fists crushed his nose and shoulders a few times.

Meanwhile Aria observed the battle unfolding; her blood was boiling to fight the blood angel, yet there were other things she had to consider. "He’s at the same level as Scarlet, and that other thing is getting complete.

The horseman still was in the north with no movement on the surface, but two magicians were fighting over control constantly. If someone attacked, there was the chance that all that magic could overload at once; with the level that the festival had shown to this time, Aria was sure that this was just the tip of the iceberg.

"For now, let me play with you a little..." Her eyes turned purple as she started walking in the air toward them. Feeling her magic, Scarlet stepped back, running as far as possible, but Ray just stood there staring back at her.

Aria’s fingers sealed into one another as she said with magic covering her body, "Most people think my magic is love magic, but let me show my real magic..."

"Small nova..."

A pink star came to existence between them; its light could be compared to sunlight everywhere with the color pink.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Ray cursed as he teleported himself as far as possible, making hundreds of layers of blood wall to protect himself.

A nova blast, in concept, is when a dying star runs out of energy and explodes, destroying anything in its path. "All of our magics are a joke compared to hers..."

In military they named threats that could destroy earth, solar-level threats, "She can only be called a cosmic-level threat."

Cracks started to appear on the surface of the pink sphere, with its light slowly fading; the moment arrived. Its structure exploded, turning everything into dust on its path.

Layers of Ray’s defense vaporized one by one, as if it were cutting through paper. As it reached the final piece of his defense, Ray’s body took the weakened explosion head on; it couldn’t kill him, but the lower half of his body was completely vaporized, with severe burns on all of his skin.

With the light gone, he could see the area again; a hole with at least three thousand meters of height was vaporized in the ground, and at the end of it, an injured Jade could hardly breathe.

With so many wounds over the day, Ray’s healing had become so much slower; his legs were starting to get in shape again.

On the other side of the field, a roar shook the sky; the horseman’s body was unaffected by the nova blast, and now finally awake, it wanted to join the fight too.

"That’s the difference between me and you; I don’t need to put my life in danger just to gain a little power." Aria mocked Ray and, to some point, her own companion; in no time in her life had someone been able to withstand her powers; she was truly undefeated.

The parasite inside him started to talk once more, "She has no weakness; if you want to defeat her, the only way is with raw power." Usually Ray didn’t have the luxury of defeating someone by overpowering them, so he just ignored the advice.

His wings grew once more, and with his body starting to glitch, he flew over to the party once more. "So, if I kill you, that makes me stronger than you?"

Three more pink stars came to being in different places of the arena, and Aria’s voice became louder, "You can try..."
