Destined with You
Chapter 2278 - 2293: Can’t Hold Back Anymore 3
"Not yet." Beiming Han shook his head. Actually, he was already almost certain that this matter was most likely the doing of Ye Qi.
If Ye Qi was responsible, surely, he wouldn’t leave any traces.
He furrowed his brows; if Ye Qi had truly betrayed him, and he didn’t deal with it now, terrifying things might happen in the future.
But...
He still couldn’t bring himself to believe Ye Qi would betray him.
Forget it, he would wait a little longer.
If Ye Qi did anything else, he wouldn’t let it slide anymore.
"Aunt Zhou’s death is really unjust; she was so good to us, yet none of us can avenge her." Gu Qingxin mentioned it with particular sadness.
"The truth will eventually come out, don’t be sad. Be good, Aunt Zhou loved you so much, knowing you’re grieving while pregnant with Baobao, she wouldn’t be at peace even in the next life." Beiming Han gently patted her back.
"What should we eat for lunch? You still have to take your medicine afterwards." Gu Qingxin looked at the time; it was already noon. Now that Beiming Han was back, she made sure he took his medicine every meal to feel at ease.
"What do you want to eat?" Beiming Han only wanted her to eat well.
"Hmm, remember the dumplings we made in North Garden? I had someone bring them over earlier, let’s eat those." Gu Qingxin suggested.
"Alright." Beiming Han nodded.
"I’ll go cook them, you take a rest, they’ll be ready soon." Gu Qingxin got up from him.
"Let me do it." Beiming Han didn’t want her to exert herself.
"Ah Han, I’m your wife, I like cooking for you, don’t always try to take my work!" Gu Qingxin refused to let him.
Beiming Han looked at her helplessly yet indulgently, saying, "Okay then, I’ll help set the table later, is that alright?"
"Sure thing." Gu Qingxin left with a smile.
As soon as she left, the smile vanished from Beiming Han’s face. He held his stomach, closed his eyes in discomfort—what was going on? Even with the medicine, it was starting to hurt.
Could this be telling him he really had an incurable disease?
Beiming Han picked up the phone, dialed Bai Jingqing’s number, suddenly anxious to know the results; to know if he indeed had that most feared illness.
But after just two rings, he quickly hung up. No, he couldn’t ask.
Beiming Han tossed the phone aside and stood up, quickly leaving the study. As he stepped out, Bai Jingqing’s call came in.
In the kitchen.
Gu Qingxin had just put the dumplings in the pot when she saw him come in and asked, "Why did you come over so quickly?"
"I missed you." Beiming Han hugged her from behind. He didn’t know if such moments would be a luxury for them in the future.
Gu Qingxin’s phone rang; she handed him the spoon and said, "Stir it slowly, remember to go in one direction."
Beiming Han took it over, and Gu Qingxin saw Bai Jingqing’s number on her phone and answered.
"Are you looking for Ah Han? His phone is probably in the study, that’s why he didn’t pick up."
Gu Qingxin’s hand suddenly felt empty as Beiming Han took the phone away; he handed the spoon back to her and left the kitchen with the phone.
Gu Qingxin shrugged her shoulders and turned to continue cooking the dumplings.
"Big Brother, why did you call me just now? I couldn’t answer before you hung up." Bai Jingqing asked.
