Chapter 1718: More Victories!

Soon, Max’s seventh battle began.

After seeing an elf interfere in the conflict and get obliterated by Max’s fist, the demons who had fallen silent for a short while once again found their anger burning hotter than before, because in their eyes, the fact that an elf had challenged Max before another demon could step forward was already a humiliation.

And the fact that Max had defeated her as easily as he had defeated the demons only made the situation even harder for them to accept.

This was supposed to be a trial where the strong devoured the weak, where demons could crush humans, gather Killing Points, and strengthen their reputation within the Combat Hall, but Max had turned Arena Seven into his own stage, and every battle he won made the demons look more and more pathetic.

A tall demon with dark purple skin and two curved horns finally stepped forward with a savage expression, and the moment his challenge was accepted by the trial, a beam of light descended upon him and pulled him into the arena.

His body was slimmer than the previous demons Max had killed, but the aura around him was colder and sharper, and instead of carrying a heavy weapon, he held two long black daggers that released wisps of poisonous demonic mist.

His crimson eyes stared at Max with murderous hatred, and the moment the barrier sealed the battlefield, he vanished from where he stood like a shadow melting into darkness.

The battle began almost immediately.

Inside the arena, demonic mist spread across the shattered ground, and the demon moved through it with terrifying speed, appearing and disappearing again and again as his twin daggers aimed for Max’s throat, eyes, heart, and the gaps between his dragon scales.

Each strike was vicious, precise, and filled with poison that could corrode flesh and energy alike, but Max only stood there with a faint smile, allowing the demon to circle him as if he was watching a child perform tricks. The black daggers struck his body several times, yet every collision ended with sharp metallic sounds, and not a single dagger managed to pierce through his dragon scales.

While Max’s seventh battle unfolded, outside the arena, the golden-haired elven prince remained standing among the elves with his hands behind his back, his emerald eyes fixed on Max’s figure with deep concentration.

He was not looking at the demon.

He was not interested in the battle itself.

His attention was entirely on Max.

At that moment, a faint ripple of light appeared beside him.

The silver-haired elven woman who had just been killed by Max reappeared outside the arena. She had been revived at the revival chamber present in the Combat Hall.

She did not look at the arena first.

Instead, she immediately walked to the golden-haired elven prince and knelt down on one knee before him with her head lowered.

"I am sorry Your Highness," she said in a quiet voice. "I could not do what you asked."

The golden-haired elven prince slowly turned his gaze away from Max and looked down at her.

There was no anger in his expression.

There was no blame either.

His calmness made the silver-haired elven woman feel even more ashamed, because she knew very well that he had only asked her to test Max’s strength, yet she had been completely overwhelmed despite using her strongest attack.

Not only had she failed to force Max to reveal his full strength, she had even been killed in front of everyone, and for an elf of her status, that was not a small humiliation.

The golden-haired elven prince looked at her for a moment before asking calmly, "This is your first death, right?"

The silver-haired elven woman nodded with her head still lowered.

"Yes."

"Good," the golden-haired elven prince said with a slight nod.

His reaction made the silver-haired elven woman raise her eyes in surprise. She had expected disappointment, or at least a few cold words about her failure, but the prince’s expression remained composed, and his tone did not carry the slightest trace of dissatisfaction.

He looked back toward the arena, where Max was still facing the seventh demon with the same careless confidence.

"I have a few other tasks for you," the golden-haired elven prince continued.

At the same time, inside Arena Seven, Max’s seventh battle ended without the slightest suspense.

The demon who had challenged him had relied on speed, poison, and assassination-like attacks, but none of those methods meant anything in front of Max’s Dragon Scales Transformation.

His daggers could not pierce Max’s scales, his poison could not enter Max’s body, and his speed, which might have been terrifying to many other participants, looked almost slow in Max’s eyes.

After allowing the demon to attack several times, Max finally lost interest, and with one casual punch, he shattered the demon’s chest and obliterated him into dark fragments of light, causing another stream of Killing Points to scatter across the arena before being absorbed into his body.

[Participant: Max]

[Consecutive Victories: 7]

[Killing Points: 735,000]

The number caused another wave of shocked whispers to spread through the Combat Hall, but before those whispers could even settle, Max’s eighth opponent stepped forward. This time, the challenger was still a demon, but his aura was much stronger than the previous one.

He had four arms, a pair of curved bone blades growing from his elbows, and black flames burning around his body like a cloak of destruction.

The moment he entered the arena, he released a savage roar and declared that he would crush Max’s dragon scales with his bare hands, but his confidence lasted only until the battle began.

The four-armed demon attacked like a storm, his bone blades slashing from every direction while black flames exploded around him again and again, turning the shattered arena into a furnace of demonic fire.

His strength was truly not weak, and each of his attacks carried enough force to make the barrier tremble faintly, yet Max only walked through the flames with a faint smile, allowing the bone blades to strike his body and shatter against his scales one after another.

When the demon’s expression finally changed, Max appeared before him in a flash and drove his fist straight into the center of his chest.
