Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2315 - 2316: Ghost Ship
Xiao Ji’s intimidation has no effect on the Cast Cubes; they are not Ghost Series Spirit Beasts and are unaffected by its restraint. Plus, due to their unique nature, when combined together, Xiao Ji’s aura is almost ineffective against them. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Seeing the ominous clouds approaching, Feng Yuan said,
"This thing is quite interesting, just enough to shield those troublesome auroras; however, it doesn’t seem to have much significance for us."
With Qi Chen leading the way, Feng Yuan was at ease, strolling and sauntering as if he were on a leisurely walk. The Cast Cubes, seeing Feng Yuan’s demeanor, couldn’t help but enhance the visual effects of their ultimate move.
Unfortunately, with strength as his backing, Feng Yuan was pointing and commenting on the visual effects of that ultimate move.
"Can’t you give them a little face?"
Qi Chen turned his head speechlessly to Feng Yuan and said a sentence. There’s no choice; Feng Yuan’s approach was indeed rather mischievous.
"Hehe, it’s just that I feel there’s room for improvement~"
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan gleefully continued on the road. The appearance of dark clouds gave them a chance to observe this space. Although there was no need to find a path themselves, after the dark clouds appeared, the pitch-black clouds along with the auroras overhead and the constantly reflecting Mirror Space formed a stunning spectacle.
Of course, the designer did this intentionally; the sudden encounter with a spectacle during the journey was also arranged by the other party. After all, mere play is somewhat of a waste for the Maze of Mirror.
As everyone advanced, the range of the dark clouds grew larger, corresponding to fewer mirrors, until the mirrors were all engulfed by the clouds; this Maze of Mirror then first presented its complete appearance to everyone in naked eye.
"Strange, what is their purpose in doing this?"
Even though the various visual effects brought by the dark clouds were quite frightening, it didn’t affect Feng Yuan and his company as such things couldn’t harm them.
As for being scared?
That thing falls short compared to the major scenes Feng Yuan and his company have participated in; at least, those big scenes they’ve been part of can’t be recreated by the Cast Cubes.
Without mentioning long-past events, the recent battles in Parallel World were far stronger in aura than the Cast Cubes, so Feng Yuan’s group was completely unaffected. They just simply saw it as a performance to enjoy.
The Cast Cubes initially tried hard to scare them, but after a while of futile attempts, they could only give up, perfunctorily handling matters originally meant for Ghost Series Spirit Beasts.
The dark clouds in the mirror descended with thunder and lightning, pouring down torrential rain; those raindrops even drifted out of the mirror, falling on everyone. If Feng Yuan hadn’t held back, Xiao Ji might have gone berserk, using its ultimate move to smash those "leaking rain" mirrors.
"It’s quite interesting; although it’s a Maze of Mirror, we can still enjoy an intriguing movie."
The storm turned the mirrored world into an ocean, and Feng Yuan noticed among them a gigantic ship sailing through the storm.
Dou Yanlan felt that the ship’s appearance was no simple matter, and before she could speak, the ship was already sailing around everyone. The enormous ancient wooden ship brought a strong sense of oppression.
Even though the ground beneath them wasn’t glass, when the ship charged towards them, the ground and surrounding spaces became part of the mirror.
Suddenly, the giant ship dragged everyone onto the deck, and the surroundings changed once again.
Auroras disappeared, turning into a starry sky, and the maze formed by mirrors seemed to have vanished without a trace after the transformation.
"Has this space been changed? It’s quite fun, but how do we walk here? Alright, got it."
Feng Yuan looked around with interest as he opened a door on the deck; the corridor beyond was unfathomable, with endlessly repeating side doors and furnishings guiding Feng Yuan to realize this was still the Maze of Mirror, only the concept of mirrors had changed. Or it’s not just the simple massive placement of mirrors.
This corridor was naturally part of Mirror Space, only without a bunch of mirrors reflecting and refracting each other to create such chaos.
"It seems it’s not an illusory space; finding a path won’t be easy."
Qi Chen extended his hand to touch it, finding no signs of obstruction, indicating they could walk into the corridor. But with so many room doors, how to walk?
"No need to hurry; let’s check elsewhere."
Feng Yuan wasn’t surprised at all by the appearance of this place; in the Data Domain, those things defying logic can be easily realized, so in the Data Domain, any peculiar scene could occur.
This ship had several doors, each with an endless corridor inside.
"If we have to try them one by one, it will be difficult, but presumably, they wouldn’t do that, would they? Do you have any thoughts?"
Feng Yuan accurately guessed which door was correct, but didn’t disclose it. Dou Yanlan pondered and said,
"Perhaps, we should start with the characteristics of the mirror; if the corridor interferes with our judgment using Mirror Projection, touching it might make a difference, though other possibilities aren’t guaranteed."
"My battle instincts aren’t reacting; there shouldn’t be any danger, but could a hint appear shortly?"
Remembering the clouds obscuring the mirror, Qi Chen considered another possibility. Dou Yanlan looked at Feng Yuan and said,
"Have you discovered something?"
"Well, of course, I have; honestly, it’s not so complicated. A hint should exist, but under the assumption we don’t find an exit for quite some time. Actually, the exit is rather obvious."
Saying this, Feng Yuan directly led everyone to one of the entrances and said,
"I believe the exit is in this direction, as to how to identify it, you can guess."
Smiling, Feng Yuan didn’t immediately provide an answer. Dou Yanlan and Qi Chen observed the corridor with suspicion. It was similar to the others, with infinitely repeating decor and room doors. No obvious differences could be discerned from appearance. No, wait!
"Ah, is that it?!"
Dou Yanlan noticed a door faintly emitting light. Yet the light was weak and was emerging from beneath the doorframe. Without careful observation, it would be hard to spot its presence.
However, due to the interference and impact of these endlessly repeating decor and room doors, even Dou Yanlan found it hard to calmly observe, thus missing this clue earlier.
Upon hearing Dou Yanlan’s explanation, Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan, who nodded and said,
"That’s likely it, apart from this corridor’s door, other corridors have no differences."
"Ah, I see."
Dou Yanlan pondered while staring at the corridor. She hadn’t thought she overlooked something this time.
"Shall we continue forward?"
Qi Chen looked at Dou Yanlan and then at Feng Yuan and asked. Nodding, Feng Yuan said,
"Of course, let’s go."
Pushing open the door, a new corridor appeared before them. After the earlier experience, both Dou Yanlan and Qi Chen meticulously examined each door of this endless corridor.
"The decor seems reversed here?"
Noticing a subtle difference, Qi Chen hesitantly spoke. Following Qi Chen’s direction, Dou Yanlan pondered and said,
"That should be it. To find the different one among the identical doors? Well, that’s interesting."
This game of finding differences lasted quite a few rounds before a huge banquet hall abruptly appeared behind the door. This immense banquet hall seemed as if it had just been bustling with lively crowds, lively noises clung in the air yet began shifting dramatically as Feng Yuan and his group entered.
Food emitting tempting aroma quickly decayed, decorations aged rapidly, even the scent in the air shifted.
"Hmm, next, won’t undead appear and battles commence?"
Looking at Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan muttered; he’s not afraid of such things happening, not to mention it’s merely a recreational facility. Even if dangerous undead appear, isn’t Xiao Ji there?
The only concern for Feng Yuan might be having to pay for things broken.
The lighting dimmed, and waves constantly crashed against the portholes on either side; amidst the banquet hall, apart from everyone’s breath, there was only an inexplicable creaking sound echoing as if something slowly moved across the weary planks.
"A very strange transformation, logically shouldn’t happen."
Pinching her chin, Dou Yanlan couldn’t make sense of it. The change was indeed somewhat frightening, yet the likelihood of problems could be high. What does the Maze of Mirror intend by arranging such things here?
