Divine Emperor Demon Emperor
Chapter 326: A Big Deal Now?
Lin Yun’s assault grew ever more ferocious, and Elder Wang was beginning to struggle. The slightest misstep, and he would be severely wounded.
’Damn it, how is this brat so strong?’ Elder Wang cursed inwardly. ’How could someone like this be a servant disciple? He’s more than qualified to be an Inner Sect Disciple!’
After a wild onslaught, Lin Yun and Little Ape exchanged a glance. Little Ape instantly understood and launched itself at Elder Wang. Meanwhile, Lin Yun began to gather power for Dual Dragon World Destruction, preparing to deliver a killing blow.
No one could have imagined Lin Yun would actually dare to make a move to kill an Elder. But he had already killed so many; he had to pull the problem up by its roots. In for a penny, in for a pound. Lin Yun had already decided to kill Elder Wang along with the others.
As Dual Dragon World Destruction charged, a terrifying power emanated from the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear. It wasn’t just Elder Wang who felt it; even the distant crowd of Two-Stars Stewards sensed the spear’s awesome might.
"This... He can’t possibly intend to kill Elder Wang, can he?"
"The guy’s insane! He killed Boss Tang, and now he wants to kill Elder Wang, too?"
The Two-Stars Stewards were all in disbelief. Who could have imagined it? A mere servant disciple trying to assassinate an Elder—it was simply unbelievable.
And yet, what everyone thought impossible was happening right before their eyes. Judging from Lin Yun’s expression and the power he was gathering, he genuinely intended to kill Elder Wang.
"Dual Dragon World Destruction!" With the power fully gathered, Lin Yun roared. Instantly, two Dragon Shadows burst from the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, reaching Elder Wang in the blink of an eye.
The moment Lin Yun launched his attack, Little Ape had already pulled back. After all this time together, their coordination was so perfect it needed no words.
Faced with the Dual Dragon World Destruction, Elder Wang simply couldn’t believe it. How could such a terrifying attack come from a young man at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer?
"Who on earth is this kid?! Such incredible Combat Power... No!" Elder Wang cried out in terror. The sheer power of the Dual Dragon World Destruction told him that he couldn’t block this attack.
Just as the Dual Dragon World Destruction was about to annihilate Elder Wang, and everyone believed he was doomed, two figures suddenly appeared before him. In the nick of time, they both thrust out a palm, each intercepting one of the Dragon Shadows. A brilliant light erupted from their hands as they managed to block the attack head-on.
Having narrowly escaped with his life, Elder Wang was still reeling. He never imagined that facing a brat at the Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer would feel like he’d just had a brush with death.
After neutralizing the Dual Dragon World Destruction, the two figures remained impassive. Their eyes, showing neither joy nor sorrow, fixed on Lin Yun as if they were made of wood.
However, the nearby Two-Stars Stewards shivered at the sight of these two men. They were dressed in the robes of Flawless Palace Elders, but with one key difference: a symbol of a scale was embroidered on their chests.
"Elders from the Punishment Hall..." one of the Two-Stars Stewards stammered. The Punishment Hall was the most powerful department in the Flawless Palace, presiding over all punishments within the entire sect.
’It’s over. We’ve even alerted the Punishment Hall,’ the Two-Stars Stewards thought in a panic. ’This time, we’ve really caused a catastrophe.’
The Punishment Hall rarely made an appearance. Whether the issue involved servant disciples, Outer Disciples, or even Inner Sect Disciples, the Hall typically wouldn’t intervene unless it was a disaster of epic proportions.
But when the Punishment Hall did get involved, it meant the matter had escalated to a level of importance that concerned the entire Flawless Palace. It meant the Punishment Hall itself would pass judgment.
Consider this: in a sect as large as the Flawless Palace, countless conflicts arose every day. Most were handled by their respective Stewards, and those they couldn’t resolve were passed up to the Elders.
It was rare for a matter to require the Punishment Hall’s intervention. Unbelievably, Lin Yun had managed to draw their attention—and not just that, two of their Elders had come.
"All parties involved are to come with us to the Punishment Hall," one of the two Elders from the Punishment Hall said impassively, not singling out Lin Yun.
Hearing this, Lin Yun gave a nonchalant wave. If he had to go, he’d go. As it happened, he was curious to see the Punishment Hall for himself. Besides, he suspected that with his true status, not even the Punishment Hall could deal with him easily.
It wasn’t just Lin Yun; Elder Wang and the group of Two-Stars Stewards were all brought to the Punishment Hall. The Hall was located in the central region of the Flawless Palace, not far from the Flawless Palace Main Hall.
The layout of the Punishment Hall was simple: high courtyard walls and a heavy main gate. Inside was a courtyard, completely empty. Further in was the main hall, a massive but ordinary-looking chamber that was bare save for a single Main Seat.
After Lin Yun and the others arrived, the two Punishment Hall Elders remained silent, just as they had been on the way over. Even now, they simply stood stiffly to the side like a pair of marionettes.
Standing inside the Punishment Hall’s main chamber, everyone except Lin Yun was fraught with tension, Elder Wang included. The Punishment Hall was not a place one entered lightly, and once inside, it was not a place one left easily.
After all, quite a few Flawless Palace Elders and Disciples had been sentenced to death in this very hall. Even a Direct Disciple had been executed here before.
As a newcomer to the Flawless Palace, Lin Yun didn’t fully understand the significance of the Punishment Hall. However, every Elder knew that the Flawless Palace had twenty Main Seat Elders, all of them powerful figures in the Celestial Spirit Realm.
Three of those Main Seat Elders belonged to the Punishment Hall, serving as its three Vice Hall Masters. Above them, rumor had it, was a Hall Master, but he would never appear for ordinary matters, only getting involved if a Main Seat Elder was implicated.
This was because the Hall Master of the Punishment Hall was one of the Flawless Palace’s Supreme Elders, a Great Power at the Spirit Realm.
In addition to those four, the Punishment Hall had dozens of Elders at the Primordial Ocean Realm, just like the two men now standing beside Lin Yun.
The Punishment Hall was arguably the most feared place in the Flawless Palace. It wasn’t just Disciples; even Elders felt their legs go weak upon entering. In the Flawless Palace, once the Punishment Hall sentenced you to death, there was virtually no possibility of changing the outcome.
Lin Yun was unaware of all this. Of course, even if he had known, he likely wouldn’t have cared.
"This is a huge mess. We actually alerted the Punishment Hall." None of the Two-Stars Stewards had ever set foot in the Punishment Hall before. Now, their legs trembled, and they looked as devastated as if their parents had just died.
When they had threatened Lin Yun with the Punishment Hall earlier, it was just an empty scare tactic. They never imagined it would actually come to this. Now, the situation had spiraled completely out of control.
Seeing their reactions, Lin Yun realized the Punishment Hall must cast a long shadow over their minds, to be able to frighten them so thoroughly.
A faint smile touched Lin Yun’s lips as he thought, ’Has this blown up into a big deal? Good. It’s better this way. Let Luo Feng and the others see exactly what life is like for the servant disciples at the very bottom.’
