Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 5030: Wormholes?
"You two-"
Davis started, glancing at Evelynn and Zenova, "Have you two made up yet?"
"What are you talking about?" Both Evelynn and Zenova asked at the same time.
"..."
Davis smiled faintly in an unamused manner.
They were really acting like nothing was in between them, yet sparks flew when their eyes met. This had to be the most egotistical catfight he had ever seen. However, it really couldn’t be described as a catfight since one was a poisonous spider and the other a thunderous kirin.
The atmosphere turned as silent as it became awkward.
The others didn’t know why Davis had to bring this point up when it was clear, yet they both wouldn’t forgive each other easily.
Evelynn wouldn’t apologize since her actions weren’t wrong, and the slaps she gave to Zenova were well deserved. However, Zenova would never let go of her pride and apologize for her actions. They really were at an impasse.
At this point, they felt only time and closeness could heal such things.
One couldn’t force it.
Davis was also aware of this point, but as their husband, he really couldn’t stand his women having hostile intent against each other.
Just as he wondered if he should threaten them with a good time in bed together, a figure strode in from the entrance.
It was none other than Nightveil.
She came in and was about to whisper straight into Mingzhi’s ear, but then saw everyone. Her eyes lit up when she saw Davis, and seeing that he was here, she didn’t stand on ceremony or restrain herself as she said openly.
"The newly established branch of our intelligence network has captured a peculiar piece of information. It seems like a wormhole opened in the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, and there is an invasion from the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy."
"What!?"
Davis and the others’ eyes went wide as they looked dumbfounded.
"In a few days, this information can be verified. Until then, treat it as mere speculation." Nightveil advised, her tone professional.
"No, no, no-" Davis blinked, "What do you mean a wormhole opened in Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm from the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy? It’s not a dimensional pathway, is it?"
Usually, traversing galaxies could either be done through traversing the realm pathways in the eight Greater Realms or finding paths to a dimension, which then leads to another galaxy.
The hydra that carried that Hell Poison Gem’s replica came here through a dimensional pathway.
However, to suggest a wormhole was used to invade the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, what did it mean?
"Yes, it’s not a dimensional pathway but a pure space-attributed pathway that connects vast distances from the other."
Davis argued, "I know what a wormhole is. I’m asking how it managed to form, considering there has never been one that breaks a galaxy’s spatial layer. Such long-distance wormholes can be described as Galaxy Wormholes, and they have never appeared except..."
His expression suddenly went deflated as his voice toned down.
Nightveil wryly smiled in response as the answer was evident.
"-except in the Desolate Era..." She finished it for him.
When heaven and earth energy thinned out completely to the point of gasping for air but having nothing to breathe in except to survive on using internal energy, it was a cause for disaster. Not only does energy dry up and resources wither, but food would also be scarce with lifeforms, whether it be humans or magical beasts, increasingly dying off in droves, leading to a disastrous famine.
However, these things were supposed to appear in the mid-period or late period of the Desolate Era after heaven and earth energy thinned out ninety-nine percent, forcing more lifeforms to engage in slaughter, gather resources, or die out in an attempt to survive, so why did they appear so soon?
Of course, the answer was because this Desolate Era was caused by a freaking Desolate Divergent.
Zenova crossed her arms, her expression turning solemn.
"Even if it’s unnatural, the Desolate Era has progressed far faster than anticipated. However, no one can say how long it will stay, so this might be a ruse by the heavens to get you eliminated faster."
Evelynn’s eyes flickered with a poisonous glint.
"The forces from the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy wouldn’t dare invade without confidence. The Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm isn’t weak. Even if their bloodline is inferior, they’re still hydras that have betrayed their own bloodline and joined the humans. They’re territorial, violent, and prideful. Realm Master Malzor Hexadra will have no choice but to prove his allegiance now."
"How can we be so sure that this invasion was planned?" Mingzhi frowned, "This Galaxy Wormhole should be a chance encounter for the forces of the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy as well, so they would definitely be unprepared and only scout ahead before assessing the damage they could cause and finally retreating. Why would Malzor Hexadra be unhappy? In fact, he would be dancing in his palace that he could finally flee to the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy after raking in so much power and information here. By now, he would’ve unleashed all his hidden forces to target the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy’s important figures."
"Or he could simply claim innocence, rally the invading forces, and declare that they’re here to help hunt the Divine Emperor of Death to end the Desolate Era. It would be completely natural if there were Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy’s Heaven’s Warriors among them." Zenova coldly harrumphed.
It seemed like their family didn’t like all three scenarios, but they saw Davis remain silent.
Their expressions softened as they knew he would be feeling guilty because of all that had happened.
A person can be ruthless, but never in their lives should they lose their humanity. There were continuous reports of so many bad things occurring one after another with the advent of the Desolate Era, with starvation being the least of the worries.
One should know that heaven and earth energy is also suppressed and prevented from environmental hazards and plagues occurring frequently.
"It’s not that deep." Davis waved his hand, "I’m only afraid that the expansion of this Desolate Era wouldn’t be limited to one galaxy but all eight galaxies, in which case, I would not be facing just one Celestial Transcendent but two or more, even all eight."
Lea and the others had their brows wide, their pupils quivering.
Indeed, why didn’t they think of this?
Since a Galaxy Wormhole opened near the eye of the storm of the Desolate Era, the poor realm on the other side of the galaxy would also be affected, and in the end, even the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy would be experiencing a severe heaven and earth energy drought and famine, forcing their powers to also take action against Davis.
In this manner, what would happen if the other rulers of the galaxies like the Celestial Transcendent sent their avatars or other bodies to deal with their husband?
