Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 5043: The Ethereal Lumina Tree
Davis simply took out a spatial ring and placed it on the fatty’s hand.
The fatty could barely see a smile underneath the hood and the mask. He felt that the other party was acting way too mysterious for them to not be unmasking themselves, but who cared as long as the spatial ring was filled with riches.
Just as he nodded and checked the spatial ring, his eyes bulged.
He found a Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core inside, greatly shocking him.
He stared at Davis with a shocked expression.
After all, the price of a Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core had shot through the roof with the advent of the Desolate Era. Unlike the people outside the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, they already believed that the Desolate Era had started and that there was no changing it.
Otherwise, they all wouldn’t have made the trip to the Ethereal Lumina Tree and set up a fortress city, and called it a Bastion City, where it would become the last place humanity thrived.
"Hahahaha! Good, very good. From now on, you’re my brother. Come, I’ll take you to a luxurious accommodation."
The fatty appeared to be extremely satisfied with this ’gift’ and gestured for Davis to enter alongside him.
Davis and the others followed without saying a word.
The people outside watched them enviously. They had no idea what kind of gift they had presented, but knew it must’ve been way better for that fatso to act this way. At the same time, they cursed him. After all, the cities had long been filled with a huge amount of population, so their reason for not accepting any more people was that it would cause a famine and other calamities.
But still, didn’t they accept bribes and take people inside right in front of their faces? But what could they do about it?
While walking in the wall tunnel that led into the city, the fatso turned to ask.
"Brother, how many people do you have? A million? Billion?"
"..."
Davis was speechless.
"Oh, if you are worried that we do not have enough space to accommodate a billion people, don’t worry. For powers of your caliber, there are still quotas, which translates to space to occupy within the city. Even if you do not get one here, I can still help you get space in other cities. There are twelve cities surrounding the Ethereal Lumina Tree, after all."
Davis curiously looked at this person.
Although this fatty looked and acted despicable, he didn’t show any signs or intent to rob or scam him. The fatty had turned cautious, but of course, he didn’t need to fear him either, as he could tell the fatty was a Level Eight Primarch.
In other words, he could be a top figure of the city, but why such a figure was lurking at the gates to get some ’gifts’ was beyond him.
He guessed they didn’t stock up on their supplies for the hectic future. After all, every power lived lavishly as though they were afraid that they couldn’t show their superiority, but now they had to make sure they had enough to survive the Desolate Era. From the intelligence report, he knew many powers resorted to openly plundering, not even bothering to mask themselves as bandits.
This resulted in the destruction of many powers but also paved the path for bandits to become a legal power as long as they could get the officials to turn a blind eye to their past behavior.
Nonetheless, Davis didn’t doubt why the fatty had asked such a question.
If a power was relocating or migrating, the best thing to do would indeed be to store them all in a higher-grade life ring.
Davis was wearing a few spatial rings, a life ring, and the Temporal Voidplane Ring, so the fatty asked as he figured the other party might be the head of a power and was relocating.
"No need." Davis shook his head, "A small accommodation enough for ten people would be fine."
"...!?"
The fatty was stunned. He quickly cast a gaze at Davis, wondering if he was from an ancient power that only accepted a few disciples or something.
However, as they crossed the tunnel and entered the city, the fatty saw them pause as though they were stunned. He smiled as he also turned to look towards above as he followed their gaze, witnessing the majesty of the Ethereal Lumina Tree.
In the distance, yet so close, there was a tree.
Calling it a tree felt insufficient as it was a colossal tree, its trunk stretching beyond sight like an entire mountain range, spiraling upward in a slow, natural twist. Its bark shimmered with faint iridescent hues, shifting between silver, pale gold, and translucent white, as though it was neither entirely material nor entirely energy.
Its branches spread like a canopy that appeared like they were embracing or withstanding the skies from falling. The leaves were the size of giant palaces, and they glowed with a gentle luminescence.
Countless streams of heaven and energy flowed from it, cascading like rivers of light as they showered this city and possibly the other eleven cities.
The air was dense and alive, a stark contrast to the desolate air spreading outside.
But still, the size of the tree left them feeling a bit breathless.
It was probably as big as a star hanging in space. Perhaps it was a visual illusion that made them think this way, but underneath its presence, they felt so minuscule.
The Azure Tree Realm Master, Divinacia, particularly wanted to kneel and seek its blessings. She was no stranger to the Ethereal Lumina Tree of a Lower Realm, but compared to this, it was like seeing the difference between heaven and earth.
This Ethereal Lumina Tree still generated Exalt-level heaven and earth energy, and at the concentrated areas, it would surely reach the peak of the layer limit.
"Haha." The fatty beside them chuckled, clearly enjoying their reaction.
"First time seeing it, right?"
He asked, but no one answered him. He still didn’t mind, also enjoying the sight as though he couldn’t get tired of it.
"Every single person who comes here reacts the same way. This is the Ethereal Lumina Tree of the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm. It is one of the very few dependable sanctuaries of this realm in this Desolate Era."
