Divine Villain Concealed From Fate
Chapter 21: I Want to Live
Ouyang Qianye gripped the pillow brick tighter, and before he did anything else, he made the decision to check in on his status.
’If there is a shop function and I can find something within it that is cheap enough to heal my damaged body then I can avoid this... otherwise.’
Hearing the system’s notification on the fact that there would be rewards for his performance here, Qianye inferred an understanding. And he hoped to hell that he was right.
Whatever rewards that the system would be giving him should be associated with healing him, supplementing towards him healing his body or providing some alternative path to power.
Otherwise, what would have been the point of him being its chosen host? A system choosing someone that was crippled and not providing them the means to utilize it in its purposes in the kind of world that he was in was utterly useless.
So, he was willing to bet that its rewards should be associated with healing him, or rather, he was desperately hoping that would be the case. And there was the additional description of there being different levels of rewards.
’Going along with my wishfulness, if there are different levels of rewards then that might mean it either heals me only to a certain degree and I have to figure the rest out myself, or it heals me and even helps recover some of the original Ouyang Qianye’s Foundation Establishment realm cultivation.’
Then, his eyes shimmered with delusion and the thought continued, ’It might even help fix all the hidden issues in this body from overconsumption of resources, thus consolidating the cultivation and removing the weakness of being delicate amongst those in the same realm stage.’
However, at the end of the day, it was all delusion.
The reward for clearing the free trial wasn’t something that he had control over. There was no guarantee that it would be something to heal him.
That was why he hoped that realistically, he would find a shop that he could buy from with the system right now.
Otherwise, sensibly, how else was he meant to continue living in this world?
He would become a slave or kicked out of the sect soon enough, having to fend for himself.
Chu Xuan would likely get news of his actions and could send people after him.
Not to mention Meng Jue, his goons, and the enforcer that seemed to have a particular prejudice against elves and he had embarrassed.
And then there were the people who he knew from Ouyang Qianye’s memory would come to cause trouble for him and potentially even try to kill him because the bodies original owner offended them somehow.
If he did not find some way to restore his ability to cultivate soon—a way that would not have him killed or disrespecting himself and someone he thought good of—he would still be doomed.
The system’s trail reward was uncertain, however he might be raising his chances of getting what he wanted if he went along with what it seemed to be suggesting. However, he did not want to risk his life against something that he had no way of dealing with, and thus, he hoped there would be some kind of answer that the system could provide for him right now.

’Sigh... nothing huh.’ Qianye thought with some resignation. ’There is no helping it then.’
He glanced down to his side, at the rectangular brick that his hand was resting over. He eased his tense jaw and then released his hands grip on it.
’I’ve got to do it to try guarantee I get something very good... Not doing anything now might be the safest option but...’
If he decided to play it safe, it likely severely diminished the rewards that he would earn later. In the worst case, the only way to survive after this might be to leave the sect as soon as possible before anyone came to find him.
He didn’t want to be forced to scrape by, tucking his tail between his legs.
He didn’t want to be forced to limit himself because of things beyond his control anymore.
Ouyang Qianye wanted to be strong! He wanted to be rich! To be an Immortal with mystical power! He wanted to explore this wide, mystical and dangerous world! He wanted to be with beautiful women again! He wanted his freedom to live back!
And if that meant he had to speak to a demoness, thus risking this life that he had stumbled into to make the best of everything that would give him the chance at that? That was fine.
"From what I know of her at least she should be wiling to listen to reason, even if I’m not Chu Xuan. I don’t even need much from her... just anything that will impact Destiny." Ouyang Qianye committed himself and then he shifted, lifting the brick to place it over his lap.
He lifted his hand and then he bit hard through the flat of his thumb, drawing blood. Then before he could think of anything to try convince himself otherwise, he dragged his thumb against the rectangular brick.
For a single moment after he did so, he heard his blood sizzle. Then suddenly from the brick, he saw and explosion of darkness burst out, drowning his consciousness. Within those several moments, he felt as if he had lost consciousness.
Only some seconds later, from being seated within his shack, emaciated and daring, Ouyang Qianye was now standing within a vast expanse of darkness, with a giant, inhuman demon glaring down at him.
His body shivered in the cold of the darkness, and his chest barely rose, struggling for breath.
Chu Xuan possessed a special artifact that would have helped him here. However, he didn’t have that. There would have to be some other way for him to survive this.
"Mortal, relinquish what remains of your body to me."
