Meanwhile, right as he had taken the blood essence droplets into his mouth, Melinoë’s expression had fallen utterly serious.
Her attention, focused on the elysian life fruit, though committed, was rueful.
For him to have found something so important to her race because of his desperate efforts to find a way to restore his cultivation, and him allowing her to benefit from it, there weren’t any words that she could use to describe the turmoil tremoring through her.
Melinoë, despite how she so mourned it, as soon as she saw him take down the blood essence, clutched the fruit hard and ripped through it in perfect halves.
Even though it was large, and of such a high grade, it was remarkably easy to tear open. Once it had split apart, strangely, its juices did not explode out and throw themselves wastefully into the water her chrysalis had taken.
It hovered through the air, flowing and shimmering in its bright, sunlight like colour. And there, running down Melinoë’s arms, veins of light burst alive, and she tossed both of the halves into the air.
The strands that were swimming through the chrysalis roused, rushing for the halves, and wrapping fully around them. Then she, using them, squeezed quarters of the fruits dry, with a wave of her hand.
Juice burst, filling the chrysalis in pale orange light and the intoxicating scent of nectar as Qianye held himself together, the sound of his blood burning rattling through the space.
Thereupon, she split the released nectar in two halves and her other hand gestured towards Qianye, and his half flew over to him, and even through the water, it coated around him thoroughly.
Then, she focused on Qianye’s remaining quarter of the fruit. The strands that had woven around it squeezed, bursting the nectar out once more.
There, however, at the same time, rather than letting it float freely, she urged more of the white strands forwards and they gathered the nectar and the half of his fruit that had been squeezed dry. With them together, she compressed with all her soul strength, squeezing it down into a miniature, fingernail sized ball, and then her hand lanced forwards at Qianye.
Despite his state, he wrenched his blood slobbering mouth wide, and having done that, at the same time the she flew his portion into his mouth, he released the loud, thundering scream of agony that he had been holding back this whole time.
And as soon as what remained of his portion had gotten into his mouth, Qianye threw himself below the water.
Melinoë, remaining over the surface had already shot her attention back to the essence and the other half of the fruit that had been waiting for her. The strands of her soul essence squeezed hard at the gesture of her hand, drawing the nectar from the quarter that had remained and just as she had for Qianye, she compressed it into a fingernail sized, luminous pearl that she swallowed down.
The bright shining of a sun illuminated through her body.
The lotus mark over her forehead immediately ignited with all of its petals, and each of the seven seals that had been embellished onto her body to lay her physique dormant released at once.
Only once it was properly reconnected with her would it be able to benefit it should from this without any wastage of the fruits power.
Within the moment that the fruits nectar had entered her mouth, it had burst with a rush of its prana and essence, permeating throughout her head. It shivered through her brain, her whole body enlivened, as if damns of adrenaline had shot through her.
Melinoë’s heart rate skyrocketed within the next several moments as this happened and it moved through her like light shining through and filling a pool of water.
And she drew her attention inwards. This would be her only few moments of this respite where she could properly create the clearest path to guide the energies of the fruit.
Immediately, her awareness had drawn to her spiritual roots. She possess two of them, with dual affinities. However, one was large, and constantly wafting a strong, healthy aura, even despite the desiccated sensation that it oozed.
However, the other, one that was meant to be bursting with life, invigorating and plentiful with vitality, was thin and weak, much smaller than the other, as if the comparison of a sapling to a fully grown, mature tree.
That was where, for one of the largest parts, she had to concentrate to immediately direct the orange-green bursts of essence from the nectar that she had eaten.
Thereupon, after forming that immediate stream, her attention fell through her figure, deeper towards her lower abdomen, and towards the back.
Hurrying to find it, within moments, Melinoë had come to face her sehl, its form no larger than two almonds put together, somewhat ahead of her lower lumbar spine area. From her sehl, growing outwards, were hundreds of filaments, extending out like a nervous system throughout her body, and especially branching up to her back.
Peculiarly, her sehl was encased in spinning, luminous rings of white runes.
’I cannot waste even the slightest fraction of the opportunity Qianye has granted me!’
As her teeth clenched hard, the rings spinning to seal her sehl froze, then they shattered apart, and the licht that had sustained them drew into the sehl itself.
The strands branching out of it suddenly burst alight, and beyond her consciousness, within the chrysalis, her back erupted with light of a far greater magnitude than even when the chrysalis had formed, encasing its space in white that was gradually shifting between the colours of dark blue, silver and gold.
Throughout the decades that it had been since her clan’s destruction, she had maintained the seal her mother had placed.
It was what allowed her to be perceived as a half-elf, masking her true nature from the hungry, prying eyes of humans.
And by all logic, she should have maintained the seal.
However, with Qianye ingesting demonic blood essence, he would drawn away from humanity.
Then, there were the enemies of his within the sect that she knew would come for their revenge somehow, like Meng Jue had.
She could not lay still and not take this risk to open the seal when he could have very easily pitted himself against the world. She had to be prepared to face it with him as well.
And she was elven royalty!
She was elven royalty and the yen of her soul was taking strides that could pit him against his race all for his improvement!
If she did not unseal her sehl now and allow the rapturous elysian life fruit to transform and raise her bloodline to a higher grade in exchange for safety, how would she be able to keep up with what he would become?
There was no greater fruit capable of improving elven bloodline purity than that of the elysian life tree.
What any other mystical resource would take groves to accomplish, even this quarter that he had granted her would bring at least equivalent effects in a lesser elf.
And if that was the case, what would it make of her, who had the first naturally born Grand Elf in this age? Only that version of herself deserved the pride of holding her head high before her mother in paradise to tell her of her yen.
Abruptly, Melinoë’s consciousness war ripped out from within her body by the agony of fire scouring through her body.
Her bones lit up beneath her skin, glowing the deep orange-red fire of the fruits essence, the outline of her skeleton visible through her flesh, pulsing like the gurgle of magma.
Her hands, quivering, rose and gestured as sharply as they could to gather the floating nectar and the smeared it across the entirety of her body.
The nectar, unlike with Qianye where it stayed over his skin, rapidly sank through her body as though she were porous. The burning light in her body flared brighter and hotter until her flesh, as she sank her figure beneath the boiling water, was a manifestation of light.
Once she had barely crossed her legs, she caught a glimpse of him.
Through the boiling water, Qianye’s body had been reduced to a figure of gelatinous, liquid in the shape of a human, burning in the orange-red-green, and golden-black essences that swirled through him, without a single organ or fleck of bone.
And as the multitudinous stands of her soul essence rushed to cover the entirety of their figures to encase them, within the next two dozen seconds, she as well was reduced to that dead, liquid state.
