Divine War Pill Emperor
Chapter 51: Are We Still Coming Tomorrow Morning?
"This..."
Watching Jiang Chen leave, everyone felt as if they were in a dream.
"Can someone tell me if this is real?"
"Exactly. Was Young Master Jiang Chen telling the truth? Does he really know Alchemy?"
"I’ve never seen him study Alchemy Skill, have you?"
"The Young Master must be messing with us again, right?"
Doubt. There was still only doubt.
A good-for-nothing playboy suddenly claims he knows Alchemy. Anyone who believed that would be a fool.
The clan members were resolute in their disbelief.
But because of Jiang Chen’s words, the topic of conversation shifted in an instant.
Everyone began to talk about Jiang Chen.
"The Young Master has changed a lot recently."
"When Ling Xuan was about to leave the family, it was the Young Master who cursed him out. Only afterward did we realize what a depraved monster Ling Xuan truly was."
"Yeah, how did the Young Master become so formidable?"
Everyone turned to look at Jiang Han.
After all, Jiang Chen was Jiang Han’s son; he would have the most insight.
"Patriarch, can your son really do it or not?"
"Are you sure he knows Alchemy?"
Faced with the clan members’ questions, Jiang Han wore a strange expression.
He was completely bewildered by his son’s actions.
If he were to say his son knew Alchemy, that would be preposterous. He knew exactly what his son was like.
Even if he had found some mysterious master, Alchemy Skill wasn’t something one could learn in a day or two.
He said helplessly, "Don’t ask me. I don’t know either."
Everyone gasped.
The clan members all sucked in a sharp breath.
Even the Patriarch didn’t know if his own son could perform Alchemy.
It was a situation that left one not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
"Forget it. He’s just joking again. Don’t overthink it."
Some had completely given up any hope for Jiang Chen.
But some, in the end, were still uneasy.
Jiang Men suddenly proposed, "Right, since Jiang Chen dared to say such a thing..."
"In any case, the Jiang Family won’t be able to find an Alchemist any time soon. Didn’t he say to go to his place tomorrow to get the Elixirs?"
"Yes, that does seem to be what he said," someone chimed in.
Jiang Men said to Jiang Han, "Patriarch, since it’s come to this, let’s treat it as a desperate gamble. Tomorrow, we’ll all go see if Jiang Chen can actually produce any Elixirs."
"If he can’t, then don’t let him cause any more trouble in the future. There’s a limit to this nonsense."
"Big Brother, you need to discipline him properly."
Jiang Han nodded.
What could he say? Even though Jiang Chen was his son, he had to be responsible to the Jiang Family for the words spoken in the clan’s main hall.
Constantly acting so recklessly was not a solution.
’It’s time to teach my son a proper lesson,’ he thought.
Then, Jiang Han said, "Don’t take his words to heart. We still need to find another way."
"We’ll proceed as we must."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
They all said they weren’t placing their hopes on Jiang Chen.
But now, they had become curious about him.
"Alright, everyone, go and rest."
Jiang Han waved his hand, stood up, and walked away.
The clan members began to disperse.
As Jiang Han walked out of the main hall, Jiang Men and a few other clan members with high Cultivation followed him out. They were all master Martial Artists.
Jiang Men asked, "Big Brother, do you really believe your son?"
Jiang Han shook his head with a wry smile.
Without another word, he started walking in a certain direction.
Jiang Men and the others continued to follow.
Jiang Han turned around and asked, "Why are you following me?"
Evidently, Jiang Men and the others already had a good idea of what was going on.
They spoke with resignation.
"Big Brother, we don’t believe him either, but... we’re curious."
"Are you heading to the Alchemy Room right now?"
They were all convinced that Jiang Chen would go to the Alchemy Room. Only the Alchemy Room had the necessary equipment, so the departed Jiang Chen must have gone there.
Jiang Han was heading to the Alchemy Room without a second thought, wanting to see for himself if his son really knew Alchemy.
In truth, deep down, he still held a sliver of hope for his son.
"Mm."
Jiang Han didn’t deny it; he was indeed going to the Alchemy Room.
Jiang Men and the others had all figured it out.
The group headed straight for the Alchemy Room.
The Alchemy Room here was the one previously left behind by Ling Xuan.
Fortunately, everything in the Alchemy Room belonged to the Jiang Family, so Ling Xuan hadn’t taken it with him.
There were even two Pill Furnaces, though they were merely average.
Upon arriving at the Alchemy Room, Jiang Han and the others saw two figures busying themselves inside.
They were all surprised.
But when they walked over for a closer look, their faces fell in disappointment.
The two busy figures were none other than Jiang Xuan and Jiang Ling.
When the two saw the Patriarch arrive with the others, they quickly stopped what they were doing.
They respectfully bowed and greeted the group.
"Patriarch, esteemed clan uncles, is there something you need?"
Jiang Men was the first to speak.
"Has Jiang Chen been here?"
They were still clinging to a tiny bit of wishful thinking regarding Jiang Chen.
But Jiang Ling and Jiang Xuan both shook their heads.
"No, Young Master Jiang Chen hasn’t been here at all."
"Isn’t he in the main hall?"
They remembered that Jiang Chen was at the clan meeting in the main hall.
Seeing this, Jiang Han and the others grew even more disappointed.
Suddenly, one of the clan members said, "Young Master Jiang Chen has probably gone to bed already."
"If you want to find him, you’ll have to go to his courtyard."
He said this with a hint of dissatisfaction toward Jiang Chen.
Playing a joke on everyone and then running off to bed—that would be truly making a fool of them all.
Everyone felt that was likely the case. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
So, they headed toward the courtyard where Jiang Chen lived.
Jiang Chen had long possessed his own independent courtyard.
The Jiang Family’s estate was quite large, after all.
Clan members of high status all had their own independent courtyards; only those of lower status had to live in shared quarters.
Jiang Chen’s courtyard was exceptionally quiet.
You could even hear the cheerful chirping of insects.
It was a complete contrast to the oppressive atmosphere hanging over the rest of the Jiang Family.
Standing outside Jiang Chen’s courtyard, they found the gate was closed.
Jiang Men went up and gave it a couple of shoves, but it wouldn’t budge.
So, Jiang Men started knocking.
"Who is it?"
Soon, a woman’s voice came from inside the courtyard.
It was Yiyi, who had been cultivating.
Yiyi hurried to the gate and opened it.
She saw it was the Patriarch and the others.
She immediately offered a respectful greeting.
"Patriarch, are there any instructions?"
Jiang Men asked urgently.
"Is Jiang Chen here?"
Yiyi nodded. "Yes, but the Young Master has probably gone to sleep."
"He said he won’t see anyone."
What?
Everyone was stunned once again.
That guy came back and actually went to sleep.
They looked at each other, speechless.
Jiang Men now completely understood. Jiang Chen was probably just messing around.
Jiang Han sighed inwardly.
He said to Yiyi, "It’s nothing. We just came to see if he was here. Since he is, that’s fine. Let him sleep."
Then, with a wave of his hand, he led the group away.
Yiyi saw the Patriarch’s disappointed expression. She knew about the Jiang Family’s current situation.
’But why would he be so disappointed to hear that Jiang Chen is sleeping?’
Yiyi didn’t understand. In any case, as soon as Jiang Chen had returned, he had told her to close the gate and turn away all visitors, using sleep as the excuse.
This was the Young Master’s usual style. When he was sleeping, he didn’t allow anyone to disturb him. It was perfectly normal.
However, what made Yiyi suspicious was that on such a hot day, Jiang Chen had actually taken a large amount of charcoal back to his room to sleep.
They left Jiang Chen’s courtyard.
A clan member looked at Jiang Han and asked, "Patriarch, should we still come back tomorrow morning?"
They all remembered that Jiang Chen had told them to come for the Elixirs in the morning.
Given Jiang Chen’s current behavior, forget about Elixirs.
Coming over in the morning to see if his chamber pot was full was probably the only thing that would be true.
