Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me - Chapter 173: Agreement
Jasmine realized she’d been a little harsh. She started the car and said casually, half-joking, "If I’d known, I should have tried to get with your brother back then."
Jasmine’s words eased Mika Summers’s gloomy mood. She tilted her head, gave Jasmine Warren a serious look, and said, "My brother... isn’t into flat-chested girls."
Hearing Mika, Jasmine suddenly slammed on the brakes, nearly choking.
"What the hell? Who are you calling flat-chested..." As she spoke, she pointedly puffed her chest out at Mika.
Mika gave a triumphant smile and puffed her own chest out at Jasmine. "Jasmine, you’re such a tomboy. You actually have the nerve to claim you have a chest?" When they were kids, she had always loved competing with Jasmine for her brother’s attention. It couldn’t be helped—he just seemed to have a halo around him wherever he went.
"Big boobs, no brains. I can’t be bothered to argue with you," Jasmine muttered awkwardly, her face red, as she couldn’t help but gulp at the sight of Mika’s impressive chest.
Mika was an especially sensitive person. Even though she knew Jasmine was just making a thoughtless comment, she still took it to heart. She tried her best to keep a smile on her face and remained silent.
Jasmine felt she’d gone a bit too far as well. She gave a self-deprecating smile, started the car, and drove off.
’All these years without contact really have created some distance between us. It’s not as easy as it used to be. In the past, no matter how we joked around, Mika would never have gotten upset.’
「Around five in the afternoon」
Tristan Grayson and the others finally deplaned. The moment he was off, Tristan made a call to have the hospital send someone to pick up Maggie Monroe.
Dressed in a heavy down jacket and a baseball cap, Maggie Monroe sat anxiously in the lounge, watching Tristan on the phone.
’A sense of disappointment crept into her heart. She didn’t need to be in the hospital anymore, but Tristan was insisting on sending her there anyway.’
After hanging up, Tristan Grayson turned to the pale woman and asked in a low, gentle voice, "Are you feeling unwell at all?"
Maggie shook her head. "No, I’m fine. Tristan, I really don’t need to be hospitalized. I’m okay."
"No. You just got off a plane, so it’s better for you to be at the hospital. That way I can have some peace of mind." He was always so busy with work; how could he possibly find the time to stay by her side 24/7?
"Then what about you? Are you coming to the hospital with me?"
Tristan walked over and sat down beside her. "I can’t go with you to the hospital," he said in a low voice. "I’ve been away from the office for too long. I have to go in and deal with some things."
"We just got back. Do you really have to go to the office? Can’t you just stay with me for today?"
"I’ll come see you as soon as I’m done with work."
"Okay..." she nodded, feeling wronged. ’But her heart was filled with unease. In the past, she would have believed him without question when he said he was going to the office. Now, however, she couldn’t shake the feeling that he was really going to see *that woman*.’
’But she couldn’t make a scene. The one thing Tristan hated most was people who interfered with his work. So, she had to be understanding...’
By the time Tristan Grayson finished his work at the office and got home, it was already past nine o’clock. He flipped on the lights and his eyes immediately fell on the woman lying on the sofa.
He froze for a split second before shrugging off his jacket and walking toward her. His heart clenched as he saw her small, snow-white face. "Why do you look so pale?" he asked urgently. "Are you not feeling well?"
"Tristan Grayson, before you give me the agreement, there’s something I have to show you..."
