Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me - Chapter 176: Unbearable
"Enough. Cut the crap and get out." Tristan Grayson felt a headache coming on just looking at Mika Summers. All he wanted was to be left alone in peace.
Mika Summers didn’t say another word. She turned, grabbed her purse from the sofa, and walked out.
Only when he heard the door click shut did Tristan Grayson snap out of his stupor. He wearily walked to the sofa and sat down. He reached for the miscarriage certificate on the table, his brow furrowed as he stared at it...
The moment she closed the door, Mika Summers’s knees buckled, and she nearly collapsed. She gripped the doorknob, forcing herself to stay upright... 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
’This time, it’s finally, completely over between me and Tristan Grayson. Finally over...’
She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. Her voice trembled as she spoke. "Jasmine... come get me..." She hung up before Jasmine could even reply.
After hanging up, she forced herself to stand straight. She smoothed down her clothes and fixed her hair, trying to look less of a mess.
With heavy steps, she left the home she had lived in for three years.
Just outside the apartment complex, she saw Jasmine parked by the side of the road, waving. Mika nodded slightly, walked over, opened the car door, and slid inside.
The moment she got in, Jasmine Warren asked anxiously, "How did it go? Did he believe you?"
"Yes, he believed me." As the words left her lips, tears streamed down Mika Summers’s face. The memory of the final look Tristan Grayson gave her made her whole body tremble uncontrollably.
’Tristan Grayson hates me. He hates me so much he could kill me... I never dreamed he and I would end up like this...’
Jasmine Warren breathed a sigh of relief, but then she saw the swollen, red patch on Mika Summers’s pretty face and the marks on her neck. A mix of shock and fury made her roar, "Did he hit you?"
"No..." Mika Summers frantically tried to cover her face, terrified of Jasmine seeing the marks. But it was too late. Jasmine had already seen them—and the red marks on her neck were unmistakable.
"That bastard! Is he even human? How could he hit you! Come on, I’m going to go give him a piece of my mind right now." Jasmine Warren was absolutely furious. ’If that bastard laid a hand on me, I’d kill him.’
Seeing how impulsive Jasmine was, Mika Summers got scared and quickly pulled a check from her purse. "Jasmine, I’m fine, really. I didn’t come away empty-handed. Look..."
Jasmine Warren glanced at the check in her hand and was rendered speechless. "Mika Summers, are you out of your goddamn mind? Why did you only ask for this much?" ’If you’re ending things, you should at least get enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life.’
"This is more than enough for me."
"I really don’t get you. You wouldn’t listen to anyone and insisted on marrying him in secret back then. Wasn’t it all for money? But now..."
Mika quickly cut her off. "It’s still for the money now. Jasmine, let’s just go." Whether it was truly for the money or not, what was done was done.
Jasmine Warren sighed. "Have you thought about where you’re going to go?"
"No. I’ll take it one step at a time. First, I need to go home and get my parents settled. If they find out my marriage to Tristan Grayson is over, it’ll kill them."
"Mika, after all these years, I still don’t understand you. Why don’t you just ask your brother for help? You know he could." Other than helping with the miscarriage certificate, there was nothing else Jasmine could do. She truly didn’t understand why Mika wouldn’t turn to her wealthy and capable brother.
Mika Summers squeezed her eyes shut in anguish, burying her face in her hands. "Jasmine, my brother... he’s such a proud man. How could he stand to have a sister who’s so... disgraceful? I’m so scared he’ll find out about all this..."
Seeing her friend in so much pain, Jasmine Warren’s heart ached for her. "Alright, don’t overthink it. This will all pass."
