Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me - Chapter 184: A Favor
"Women like you are truly disgusting." Back in the suite, he hadn’t drunk much of the wine that was brought in later; Gia Miller, on the other hand, had drunk quite a bit. It wasn’t that he suspected anything was wrong, he just wasn’t in the mood. Who would have thought that just closing his eyes for a moment would lead to this?
Unwilling to give up, Gia Miller grabbed Tristan Grayson’s clothes. "Tristan, I really do love you. Please, just give me one chance, won’t you?" ’She couldn’t let Tristan leave. If he left this time, she would never have another chance.’
"Get lost! A piece of trash like you wants to compare yourself to Maggie or Mika? Why don’t you take a look in the mirror and see what a mess you are." As he spoke, Tristan Grayson ruthlessly kicked her away. He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Aiden Avery’s number. Aiden’s anxious voice came from the other end almost immediately. "Tristan, how are you?"
"I’m fine. Coming down now." Tristan responded coldly, hung up, and glanced mockingly at Gia Miller. He watched her cling to the doorframe, barely able to stand, and the smirk on his face widened. "Miss Miller, you seem to be in quite a bit of discomfort?"
Gia Miller’s eyes were glazed over. Her voice trembled as she pleaded, "Tristan... help me..." ’A moment ago, she’d only felt a little uncomfortable. Now, she felt like she was burning from the inside out, desperate to pin Tristan down beneath her...’
"I’ll help you. I’ll find someone to help you." Tristan sneered, stuffed his hands in his pockets, and headed downstairs.
"Tristan Grayson, you’ll regret treating me like this! My brother won’t let you get away with it!" ’Gia Miller knew Tristan Grayson was ruthless, but she never imagined he could be this cruel.’
Tristan’s lips curled into a dismissive smirk. "Is that so?"
Watching Tristan leave just like that, Gia Miller was filled with rage and resentment. She staggered to the banister, gripping it for support, and screamed down at Nanny Archer, the maid who was enjoying the show from below, "Nanny Archer, are you blind? Didn’t you see that I’ve been drugged? Hurry up and call my brother!"
"Oh, yes, Miss." Nanny Archer feigned a startled expression and replied quickly, before scurrying off to the living room to make the call.
When Tristan Grayson stepped out of the Miller house, he saw Leo Joyce gripping two men by their collars, while Aiden Avery was leisurely leaning against a car, smoking a cigarette.
He shot Leo Joyce a displeased glance. "What’s he doing here?"
Hearing such an ungrateful remark the moment he walked out, Leo Joyce instantly flared up. He shoved the two men aside and roared, "What the fuck, you think I wanted to be here? If the little miss hadn’t asked me to help, I couldn’t give a damn about your mess!" ’No good deed goes unpunished!’
’After all, he’d taken down both these bodyguards with his own two hands. There was no way a frail-looking pretty boy like Aiden Avery could have won a fight... It wasn’t that he looked down on his future brother-in-law, but Aiden probably couldn’t even win a fight against his own sister, Amelia... ’
Aiden’s expression soured at Leo’s words. He gave an awkward cough and said, "Er... well, Tristan, Leo Joyce did come to help. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to find you so quickly."
Tristan shot Aiden a cold, unhappy look. Suppressing his irritation, he turned to Leo and said stiffly, "Fine. I owe you one."
Leo, who had been furious just a moment before, instantly brightened up at Tristan’s words. He walked over, chuckling, and clapped Tristan on the shoulder. "Don’t mention it! When Amelia marries into our Joyce Family, we’ll all be family. If you need anything, just ask. As long as it’s something I, Leo Joyce, can do, I’ll do it without a second thought!"
Hearing this, Aiden stepped forward and slapped Leo’s hand off Tristan’s shoulder. "Get off! Who’s family with you? Tristan, ignore him."
"Brother-in-law, you can’t just cast me aside now that you’ve used me!" Leo retorted, not letting it go.
"So what if I am? My Amelia isn’t right for you, so you can just give up." ’He could tolerate them being friends for now, but as for taking things any further? Not a chance.’
At that moment, Leo was still determined to win over his future brother-in-law’s favor. He had no idea that, at this very moment, Amelia had already become involved with Cassian Jennings. Nor did he know that, completely unbeknownst to him, she was about to leave his world for good...
As a result, his heart would wait bitterly for many years, but she would never come... (But that is a story for another time...)
Listening to them bicker, Tristan only grew more annoyed. His head was starting to throb... He spun around and grabbed Aiden by the collar. "Aiden Avery, are you sure you’re not hiding something from me?"
"Tristan Grayson, are you crazy?! What could I possibly be hiding from you?" Aiden was completely blindsided by Tristan’s sudden accusation.
"You’d better not be!" Tristan shoved Aiden away and got into the car.
Aiden stood there, completely baffled. ’Who did I piss off? I came here to rescue him in the middle of the night, and this is the thanks I get?’
「Inside the car.」
Amelia Avery and Cassian Jennings were both drenched in sweat, panting heavily as they held each other tightly.
Cassian’s mind was now completely clear. His hands, wrapped around Amelia, were trembling. ’What had he done? He had actually... done that... to Amelia...’
’The girl who had followed him around since they were kids, calling him brother... and he had...’
’He couldn’t accept this. He couldn’t forgive himself...’
After a long moment, Amelia lifted her blushing face from Cassian’s shoulder. "Cassian..."
Cassian’s face was dark as he pushed her away. "Forget this ever happened!"
"Forget it?" Amelia’s voice trembled with shock and disbelief.
"Amelia Avery, I can’t be responsible for you!" Cassian closed his eyes, his voice laced with anguish. "From now on, let’s not see each other again!"
"Cassian..." ’She had never expected him to take responsibility. She had done this willingly. But hearing those words from his mouth still hurt so, so much.’
"You can drive the car back. Don’t bother sending someone to return it to me." Cassian straightened his clothes, opened the car door, and got out.
’So, this was his payment to her?’
Amelia clutched her clothes to her body and stumbled out of the car after him. Tears streamed down her face as she cried out, "Cassian Jennings, are you sure you never want to see me again?"
"Yes. I think it’s better if we don’t meet again, to avoid the awkwardness... or becoming enemies."
"Becoming enemies?" ’Amelia found it laughable. Utterly, terribly laughable. Enemies? Is that what they would become in the end?’
Cassian’s eyes were cold. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and strode forward. He didn’t answer her. ’But he thought that, given her relentless and fiery temper, they probably would end up that way. The next time they met, they would surely be enemies.’
Amelia pointed at Cassian’s retreating back and sank to the ground in anguish. "Fine! Go, Cassian Jennings! Just go! We’ll never see each other again! If we ever meet again, I, Amelia Avery, will be your sworn enemy!"
Cassian’s body trembled almost imperceptibly. Then, without a moment’s hesitation, he walked away until he was out of her sight.
