Chapter 207: Chapter 207: In a Dream

In Eastmere District, Archie Summers leaned against his car, his gaze lowered toward a villa in the distance.

"Boss, the bug has been successfully installed on Ms. Shaw’s phone." Howard Rhodes closed his laptop and got out of the passenger seat.

Archie Summers looked away and replied coolly, "Excellent."

"According to our intel, the Sothwick project is the company’s largest undertaking this past year, with a budget approaching ten billion."

"Hah... So, Tristan Grayson is quite invested in this project, is he?"

"Yes. President Grayson spent over three months negotiating with Mr. Jett but failed to secure the project. In the end, he had to go through Mrs. Jett to get it. President Grayson promised her that for the next two years, she would be cast as the female lead in all of LK Group’s film and television productions. On top of that, he also gifted her a set of fine jewelry worth thirty million."

Archie Summers’s gaze darkened, his contemptuous tone chilling. "My dear brother-in-law... he really is full of surprises." ’He can’t even land a project without going through a woman.’

’And not only that, he throws around thirty million just like that, but what about his own wife? She’s stuck living in this rundown villa?’

Mulling this over, Archie Summers let out a cold, sinister laugh. He glanced at his watch and said in an icy tone, "Mr. Jett has been wanting to meet me, hasn’t he? Fine. Arrange a meeting for nine o’clock tonight."

"Understood." Howard Rhodes responded crisply, then turned, pulled out his phone, and began to make the arrangements.

Archie Summers raised a hand and beckoned to Louise Jordan. She immediately understood and hurried over. "Boss."

"I imagine Mika has no desire to see me right now. Louise, go buy me the villa directly across the street from hers."

"Understood," Louise Jordan replied coolly.

Archie Summers watched Louise Jordan leave, then pulled open the car door and got in. Howard Rhodes followed, getting into the passenger seat.

Once inside, Howard Rhodes opened his laptop and immediately got to work.

Archie’s gaze, however, never strayed from the direction of Mika Summers’s villa. For some reason, looking at it left him feeling disoriented and uneasy.

It was as if... as if he had been here once before in a dream...

During his second week in Sothwick, Tristan Grayson received a sudden phone call.

The call forced him to halt work on the project and take an overnight flight back to Tridell.

As he exited the airport, he saw Ian Shaw in the distance, leaning against a sports car across the road, smoking with a grim look on his face.

Tristan Grayson, his own expression grim, dragged his luggage over, pulled a cigarette from his pocket, and started smoking alongside him.

Seeing how practiced Tristan Grayson was with the cigarette, Ian Shaw was a little surprised. He casually flicked his cigarette butt to the ground, stamped it out, and said with a teasing smile, "I thought you quit."

Tristan Grayson’s lips twisted into a bitter, self-mocking smile. "A smoke is a good thing. How could I ever quit?" ’I originally wanted to leave to get some peace and quiet, but the longer I was away, the less I could calm my mind... I was only gone for eight days and seven nights, yet the agony felt like I’d been away for half a lifetime...’

’In truth, when I got that call from Mr. Jett, I was mostly just relieved. It meant I could go back and see her soon.’

’Even if this project was going to cost me a fortune...’

Ian Shaw didn’t press the topic of smoking any further.

He opened the back door of the car, tossed Tristan Grayson’s luggage onto the seat, and shut it. Turning back to Tristan, his expression grew serious. "Tristan, you asked me to look into Austerra X Group. I’ve found a few leads..."
