Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 276: Watching
Cassian Jennings and Fiona Vance walked gracefully toward the church, approaching the pastor.
Just as they reached the pastor, and he was about to lower his head to read the vows, he froze, his gaze fixed in surprise on the entrance of the church.
Amelia Avery walked in, dressed in a wedding gown and holding a bouquet.
The first person to react was Cassian Jennings’s mother, Zoe Archer. She rose from her seat and walked toward Amelia Avery, taking her hand and saying worriedly, "Amelia? What are you doing here? Today is Cassian’s wedding. It’s not the time to be catching up. Come on, let me take you home."
At that moment, everyone in attendance rose to their feet, watching as Amelia Avery shook off Zoe Archer’s hand and walked, step by step, toward Cassian and his bride.
When Cassian Jennings saw Amelia Avery, his heart was in turmoil. ’He’d known it. He’d known last night that with Amelia’s temperament, she was bound to cause trouble. That’s why he’d changed the venue at the last minute. But she still found him.’
"Cassian Jennings, I’m asking you one last time. Do you really have to marry her?" Amelia Avery demanded, pointing at the woman beside him as she spoke in a cold voice.
At those words, Fiona Vance released Cassian Jennings’s arm. She turned to Amelia Avery and asked, with perfect composure, "Cassian, who is this? Do you know her?"
"I do," Cassian Jennings replied, his voice cold.
’She knew exactly what Amelia Avery was here for, but it wasn’t her style to behave like a common shrew.’ Fiona crossed her arms, a cold smile playing on her lips. "Then who is she? And what does she want here?"
"Amelia, today is Cassian’s wedding. Go home. Stop this nonsense," Cassian Jennings’s father, Jordan Jennings, said, his voice stern. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Mr. Jennings, how can you say that? I’m not here to cause trouble. I’m here to wish Cassian well."
Hearing Amelia Avery’s words, Cassian Jennings frowned deeply. He had no idea what she was playing at, but her words sent a wave of dread through him.
"To wish him well? If you’re truly here to wish Cassian well, Amelia, then of course you are welcome." Jordan Jennings had never liked Amelia Avery, and he liked her even less now that her actions had implicated the entire Jennings Family.
"Thank you, Mr. Jennings. Cassian, congratulations on your wedding. I wish you and..." Here, the smile on Amelia Avery’s face froze. She stepped toward Fiona Vance and nodded at her. "So it’s you."
’So this is the kind of woman Cassian likes. They’re all vixens. Gia Miller was a vixen, and this one...’ Amelia thought, ’...this one’s an absolute siren. The kind of woman no man can look away from.’
"Hello," Fiona Vance said with a confident smile, taking Cassian Jennings’s arm.
Amelia Avery let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Ha. So, Cassian Jennings, your taste is really this awful."
Cassian Jennings pried Fiona Vance’s hand off his arm. He reached out, grabbed Amelia Avery’s arm, and demanded, "Amelia, what the hell are you doing?"
"Nothing. I told you, I’m here to wish you well. To congratulate you on your wedding."
"I appreciate the sentiment. Now leave," Cassian Jennings said in a low voice, suppressing his boiling anger.
Amelia Avery gave a scornful smile. "Leave? Oh, I’ll leave. But Cassian Jennings, I’m going to make you watch me go."
At her words, Cassian’s heart dropped. A flicker of unease crossed his face as he looked at Amelia. "What do you mean?"
"I’m going to make you live with guilt for the rest of your life..."
