Mika Summers nodded and got into the car with Silas Kent.

Once inside, Mika Summers deliberately put some distance between herself and Silas Kent. She turned to gaze out the window, a complicated look in her eyes, and fell silent.

Silas Kent noticed but chose not to say anything.

They didn’t return to Southill Villa, instead driving directly to Sovereign Pictures Group.

The car came to a stop. Jane Warren, the assistant in the passenger seat, got out first, then walked around to open the rear door for them.

Silas Kent, however, was in no hurry to exit. He first took a moment to fasten his cufflinks before slowly stepping out of the car. Once outside, he offered a slight smile, bent down, and extended a hand to help Mika Summers out.

Mika Summers had already shed the complicated, pained expression from before. Now, she was the picture of confidence, cool beauty, and aloofness. Her lips curved as she placed her hand in Silas Kent’s and stepped out of the car. Her gaze fell upon the employees standing in neat rows outside the company entrance, and she glanced at Silas Kent, her eyes asking what this was all about.

Silas Kent frowned, displeased, and gestured for her to take his arm.

Mika Summers looped her arm through his and asked in a low voice, "Silas Kent, is this your big surprise?"

"Of course not. There’s an even bigger surprise waiting for you. Come on, let me show you the office."

Silas Kent raised his hand, signaling for Jessica Archer to begin.

"Why can’t you? You’ve been with me for two years. I’ve seen all your hard work in that time, and I know exactly what you’re capable of. So, Mika, you can’t turn this down. It will displease me." As he spoke, Silas Kent reached up to caress Mika Summers’s face, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Mika Summers slapped his hand away and said in a cold voice, "Fine. I’ll accept it."
