Mika Summers frowned in thought. "I can carry him out of here." With that, she turned to go back upstairs.

Tristan Grayson’s hand shot out, grabbing her arm. "You’re in that much of a hurry to go back?" he said angrily. ’That much of a hurry to go back and see that other man?’

"That’s right. I am in a hurry. Because being in the same room as you disgusts me."

Tristan Grayson’s grip went slack. His lips curled into a sardonic, bitter smile.

’Disgusted? Is that all she feels being with me now? Disgust?’

’How could this woman be so heartless?’

Watching Mika Summers go upstairs, Tristan Grayson’s brow furrowed tightly. A dimness flickered in his eyes as he looked down at his phone and sent a text to Silas Kent.

He told him she wasn’t coming back.

’She’s my woman. Why the hell should she go back to him!’

’Even if she hates me, even if she despises me, I can’t let her go back to be with another man.’

Tristan Grayson shut his phone off, tossed it into a nearby trash can, and strode upstairs.

Upstairs, Mika was dressing a soundly sleeping Kiki. Furious, Tristan Grayson surged forward to stop her, yanking her up from the bed and dragging her toward the door.

Because Kiki was asleep, Mika struggled but didn’t dare to cry out.

Tristan Grayson forced her into the adjacent room, locking the door behind him. His eyes were cold and heavy as he stared at Mika.

"Tristan Grayson, what do you think you’re doing!"

"What do you *think* I’m doing!"

"Tristan Grayson, get out of my way!"

"No! There’s no way you’re going back!"

Mika Summers clenched her fists, steadied herself, and gave a cold laugh. "Tristan Grayson, let’s get something straight. We’re divorced. You have no right to interfere in my life, and you certainly have no right to stop me from leaving."

"So what if we’re divorced?" ’Even divorced, she’s still my woman.’

Mika knew there was no reasoning with Tristan Grayson. The man had always been selfish, domineering, and utterly unreasonable.

Her smile vanished, replaced by a cold, indifferent mask.

She reached out, trying to pull Tristan Grayson away from the door. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

But Tristan Grayson remained motionless. No matter how hard she pulled, he didn’t budge an inch.

His handsome eyes stared at her, unblinking.

’For over two years, he had missed her to the point of madness. Yet after seeing her these last two times, he had become timid.’

’The first time, he hadn’t dared to approach her, hadn’t dared to even spare her a second glance. He couldn’t even bring himself to hold her tight and tell her how much he’d missed her, how much he regretted everything.’

’The second time, her appearance had stunned him even more.’

’He, who had always been so proud, so arrogant, so dismissive of everyone else, for the first time understood the meaning of insecurity.’

’In just over two years, she had changed so much.’

’So much that, for the first time, he understood what it meant to be powerless.’

’He was no longer the Tristan Grayson of the past. The astonishing wealth and power he had taken such pride in were gone.’

’Now, he had nothing to give this woman.’

’He could give her nothing at all.’

’He understood all this. He knew it was true. But he still couldn’t stand the thought of her belonging to any other man.’

’She was his woman. She was his son’s mother...’

Tristan Grayson’s stare made Mika’s skin crawl. She turned her head away, releasing her grip on him. "Tristan Grayson," she said coldly, "is this really going to accomplish anything?"

Staring at the woman before him, the longing that filled his heart could no longer be suppressed. He pulled her into his arms, cupped the back of her head with one hand, and brought his mouth down hard on her red lips.
