Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 417: From This Moment On, I’ll Say I Love You (17)
"Whether I’m talking nonsense or not, it’s the truth."
"You animal! If you dare to marry her, you can get out of the Kent Family together!"
Silas Kent grabbed Mika Summers’s hand, turned, and walked straight for the main door.
Seeing Silas about to leave, the woman who had been sitting silently beside the man finally spoke up. "Both of you, stop right there!"
At the sound of her voice, Silas stopped. Still holding Mika’s hand tightly, he turned around and gave the woman a slight nod. "Mother."
"What do you think you’re doing?" Arthur Kent’s brow furrowed in displeasure as soon as he saw his wife was about to speak.
"My son and my daughter-in-law have been wronged. Am I not allowed to say a few words? Besides, Silas isn’t wrong. Weren’t you in the same position back then, forced to marry me?"
Rebuked by his wife, Arthur Kent’s face darkened. "There are so many people here! What nonsense are you spouting!"
"You know very well whether I’m talking nonsense or not." ’He has a daughter with another woman. How is that nonsense?’
"Fine, I’m done with this matter!" Arthur Kent flung his hand in the air, rose angrily, and left.
As Arthur Kent departed, the faces of everyone else in the room soured. They had dared to speak up while he was present, but with him gone, not one of them uttered another word.
"You two go back and rest. As long as I’m here, no one can stop you."
"Okay." Silas gave his mother a grateful look before leading Mika away.
Silas Kent took Mika Summers to his residence in the rear courtyard.
After the major drama that had just unfolded with the Kent Family, Mika Summers was still feeling a bit bewildered.
"Sorry you had to see that embarrassing display," Silas said with a bitter, forced smile.
"No, Silas, I think your father has a point."
Mika’s words made Silas frown in displeasure. "Mika, are you regretting being with me?"
"No, I just think you deserve a better girl, not someone like me."
’She had regretted it the moment she returned to Austerra. She shouldn’t have been so impulsive...’ 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
’Tonight, she was utterly mortified...’
’Even if she was trying to forget Tristan Grayson, there was no need to drag Silas into it.’
’It wasn’t fair to Silas...’
’But seeing how busy Silas had been preparing for their engagement, so happy he looked like he wanted to announce it to the whole world, she hesitated again, not knowing how to bring it up...’
"So what if you’re ’someone like you’? I love you, and that’s all that matters. Don’t pay any mind to what my father said. After we get married, I can smoothly take over as head of the family. Then, no one can stop us from being together, and no one will dare to disrespect you. What happened today will never happen again."
Mika Summers’s brow furrowed. "Silas, you said you would give me time." ’We just got engaged, and now he’s talking about marriage?’
"Alright, I will." A flicker of disappointment crossed Silas’s eyes. He turned, looked at Mika intently, and replied with sincerity.
Mika struggled out of his grasp and awkwardly turned her head away.
Seeing her reaction, Silas felt a pang of sadness, but he didn’t say anything more. ’He had plenty of time. As long as she chose him in the end, he would give her all the time she needed...’
「Tridell, Narlowbay.」
Cassian Jennings walked out of the hotel and immediately saw the woman standing by his car on the side of the road.
His brow furrowed tightly.
For the past month, no matter where he went, he would run into that woman.
