Divorced Dad's Gourmet Shop
Chapter 111: Jun Qingmeng’s Bold Declaration of Love, Tongtong the Little Secret Agent
Jiang Liu brought over a few glasses of juice from the fridge.
"Want some?"
"How did you know I was thirsty? You’re so thoughtful!"
Guo Jia was deeply moved. She picked up the juice and gulped down a large mouthful.
The sweet, refreshing watermelon juice rinsed the savory flavor of the fish from her mouth.
"Ahh! So refreshing! I don’t even want to leave."
Guo Jia held up the cold glass of juice, a look of pure satisfaction on her face.
Jiang Liu chuckled.
He turned, went out to the balcony, and started doing pull-ups and push-ups.
His excellent physique was the result of his daily dedication.
It had already become a habit for Jiang Liu.
If he went a day without working out, his body would feel uncomfortable.
Tongtong trotted over with a small stool and sat down next to Jiang Liu.
As Jiang Liu did push-ups, she watched from the side with exaggerated shock.
"Daddy is so amazing! Wow! Tongtong is so impressed! Go, go! Tongtong will count for you."
She started counting on her little fingers:
"One, two, six, seven, five."
Being only in her kindergarten class, she could be hopelessly clumsy in some areas, just repeating a few single-digit numbers over and over.
"Go, Daddy, you’re awesome! Almost at ten!"
’I’ve already done thirty! You haven’t even counted to ten yet?’ Jiang Liu thought.
"Pfft-hahaha."
Jun Qingmeng couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Tongtong, your daddy has done thirty. How come you haven’t reached ten? Don’t tell me you don’t know how to count?"
Tongtong’s little face fell. She frowned. "That can’t be right. Is Tongtong just sleepy?"
"You little rascal." Jun Qingmeng rolled her eyes.
Jiang Liu stood up and stretched his arms.
He returned to the sofa.
Tongtong was a little clinger; wherever Jiang Liu went, she followed.
Now she was lying in Jiang Liu’s arms, watching *Boonie Bears* and eating little bear cookies.
Jun Qingmeng noticed Jiang Liu rubbing his arms.
She chided him with concern, "Your workload is so heavy every day. You should work out less when you get home. Wouldn’t it be better to just take a shower and relax on the sofa?"
Jiang Liu shrugged and said nonchalantly, "You get used to it. Sometimes slacking off makes you feel even more tired."
"Mm."
Jun Qingmeng boldly scooted closer to Jiang Liu.
"Let me massage your muscles for you!"
Jiang Liu grew awkward and quickly waved his hands. "No need. You must be tired enough from work. Besides, it’s nothing serious, really."
The two of them were very close.
Their legs were touching.
The pleasant scent of gardenias from Jun Qingmeng slowly drifted into Jiang Liu’s senses.
It was very fragrant, mixed with a hint of her natural scent.
Jiang Liu watched the cartoon, and with a slight turn of his head, he could see the translucent hairs on Jun Qingmeng’s ear.
From Jiang Liu’s angle, her eyelashes looked long and lush. Her eyebrows were like slender crescent moons, and her skin was flawless.
Jun Qingmeng scooted a little closer to Jiang Liu again.
This time, they could feel each other’s body heat.
Their hearts began to race.
Jiang Liu felt a little embarrassed and scooted to the right.
Jun Qingmeng looked at Jiang Liu with warm eyes. "Let me give you a massage!"
In truth, she was much shyer than Jiang Liu.
After all, she had never been in a relationship before. To her, this kind of behavior was already incredibly brave.
"Uh, I’m really not tired."
Jiang Liu refused.
Jun Qingmeng continued to lean toward Jiang Liu.
Awkward, Jiang Liu was just about to move away.
Tongtong plopped down right beside him, then winked at Jun Qingmeng.
’Teacher Qingmeng, this is the best I can do to help you.’
"I’m going to get a glass of water. You two just sit here."
Jiang Liu said as he started to stand up, but Tongtong pulled him back down.
"Daddy, you can drink Tongtong’s juice. It’s got an extra drool bonus~"
"Alright."
A minute passed, but Jun Qingmeng just sat there obediently, not making a move.
This made the adorable Tongtong anxious.
"Daddy, Tongtong will massage your right leg. Does this feel good?"
Tongtong squeezed with all her might.
"Mm, it’s very comfortable."
Jiang Liu nodded. Even though her little hands didn’t have much strength, they were his daughter’s hands. He loved it and was very happy.
"Teacher Qingmeng, can you help Tongtong and massage Daddy’s left leg? Please, please?"
"Daddy, you’re not allowed to talk!" Tongtong covered Jiang Liu’s mouth.
Her tone was serious and left no room for argument.
Jiang Liu: "..."
’Fine, massage away,’ he thought. He couldn’t be bothered to refuse anymore.
’My own daughter is turning into a secret agent.’
Jun Qingmeng’s heart rate skyrocketed.
She stiffly extended her small, fair hands, placed them on Jiang Liu’s leg, and began to gently knead his thigh.
It felt very firm and thick.
At that moment,
Jun Qingmeng held her breath, not daring to even exhale, as if she were afraid of scaring away her little rabbit.
From time to time, she would sneak a glance at Jiang Liu’s expression,
checking to see if he looked displeased or impatient.
"Does it feel good, Jiang Liu?"
Jiang Liu nodded slightly. "Thanks. It’s very comfortable."
A strange, warm feeling bloomed in his heart.
Back when he was with Yang Yixue,
forget about this kind of treatment; it was rare for him to even get a moment of peace on the sofa.
It was always one thing after another. A pile of household chores would be waiting for Jiang Liu alone to handle, and he had to work on top of that.
When things got tough, Yang Yixue and Li Xiaoyan would team up to criticize him.
How could that compare to this? Lying on the sofa with a beautiful girl by his side, carefully massaging his leg, afraid he might be displeased.
Not even three minutes later, Tongtong gave up. She flopped onto Jiang Liu’s leg and played dead.
"Daddy, Tongtong’s arms are sore. So pitiful."
"Then how about we go take a bath?"
Jiang Liu seized the opportunity to stand up, freeing himself from Jun Qingmeng’s hands in the process. He said casually,
"Sorry to trouble you. It’s fine, my legs feel great now. You should take a break."
He felt a little awkward being waited on like this.
They were just friends, and this felt like it was crossing a line.
Jun Qingmeng pulled her hands back to her own lap and shook her head. "It’s no trouble."
Then, she looked into Jiang Liu’s eyes and said with a serious tone, "If you’re ever tired in the future, you can tell me anytime. No matter where I am, I’ll come and give you a massage."
"Mm, thank you for the kind offer."
Jiang Liu didn’t say much more, nor did he give a direct response.
In truth, his heart had been thrown into disarray for a moment by her sweet words.
But... who could understand the mindset of a man who had just gotten divorced?
Tongtong, at the side, sighed.
She shook her head. "You can’t teach a donkey to be demure, and rotten wood can’t be carved. My daddy is just a pile of sawdust. This is so hard!"
As the pillar of this family, she had sacrificed so, so much for her father.
’I’m so tired. Just let the world end.’
"I’m a pile of sawdust??"
When Jiang Liu heard his daughter’s words, his face instantly darkened.
He reached out as if to spank her.
Tongtong cleverly hid behind Jun Qingmeng and made a face.
"Nya-nya-nya-nya, can’t catch me, can’t catch me."
Jun Qingmeng shot Jiang Liu a glare, but the corners of her mouth turned up as she broke into a happy smile.
Meanwhile,
a certain someone who called herself a "best friend" was burying her head in the stir-fried tuna and peppers,
completely uninterested in the budding love story that had just unfolded.
Guo Jia only wanted to clean off all the delicious food from the table.
She even planned to sop up the leftover oil and sauce with a steamed bun!
It was just too delicious!
Jiang Liu said, "Tongtong and I are going to take a bath, and then we’re heading to bed. Why don’t you take the leftovers home with you?"
"Yes, yes, I can do that."
"Then I’ll bring the plates back to you tomorrow?"
Jiang Liu agreed. "No problem. Just remember to wash them."
Guo Jia was excited again.
She had an excuse to come back for another free meal tomorrow!
Jun Qingmeng tugged on Guo Jia’s shirt. "Let’s go, let’s go. Carry the plates carefully."
Guo Jia let out a satisfied burp and reluctantly patted Tongtong’s head.
"Little one, Auntie is leaving. Want to come back with me?"
Tongtong leaned against Jiang Liu’s leg.
"I want to be with Daddy."
"Alright then." Guo Jia looked at the food in her hands, which was a consolation.
Seeing her best friend dawdling, Jun Qingmeng frowned, displeased. "Let’s go. Jiang Liu has had a long day, we should let him get some rest."
Guo Jia froze for a second.
’So she’s rushing me out just so her "boyfriend" can get a little more sleep?’
’How cruel!’
After the two of them left,
Jiang Liu gave Tongtong a nice, warm bath, and then they lay comfortably in bed with the air conditioning on.
Tongtong was doodling on her new treasured tablet.
Jiang Liu leaned in closer. "What are you drawing?"
It wasn’t that he was nearsighted; it was just that Tongtong’s drawing was too abstract.
Tongtong pointed to a round house and said proudly, "This is our home. The one next to it with lots of hair is Teacher Qingmeng, and this biggest one is you."
"The one in the middle, the prettiest and cutest one, that’s Tongtong, hehe."
"Not bad, it’s beautiful. My daughter can be a painter when she grows up!"
"Hehe, you think so?"
Jiang Liu pointed to a white square next to the house, puzzled. "What’s this?"
"A freezer. Tongtong put lots of ice cream inside."
"Ice cream??"
"You might as well turn into an ice cream bar yourself."
