The creature was now on the ground twitching and thrashing from the pain. The effect of the Soul Torture Blade made the tarantula feel even more agony. It felt its soul being tortured and it didn’t like it one bit.

The other spiders could only give the tarantula some space as they instinctively retreated toward their holes.

All the Black Venom Spiders stopped dead in their tracks as they turned to look at the tarantula.

To their shock, they saw the intruder on top of the Boss stabbing it repeatedly.

All of the black spiders flew into a frenzy as they rushed toward the tarantula.

Reiji who was on top of the tarantula, stabbing it repeatedly muttered angrily. "For an oversized itsy bitsy spider, you sure are tough."

If he had not caught a web under the platform and quietly climbed up to attack the tarantula, he knew that this fight would have dragged on even longer.

The creature only felt more pain. The more Reiji stabbed, the stronger the Soul Torture effect seemed to become.

Seeing that the tarantula was slowly weakening, Reiji rushed toward its head and drove the dagger straight into its skull.

SHRIEEEEEKKKK!!!!!

After a few violent twitches, the creature finally lay motionless on the floor.

Reiji jumped down from the creature and the system notification immediately played inside his head.

Before Reiji could properly check his stats, the Black Venom Spiders suddenly started launching multiple venomous webs toward him.

Reiji dodged quickly.

Only a few of the webs were slightly faster than the others, forcing him to use the Soul Torture Blade to slice them apart.

He guessed those ones had to be from E-Rank spiders.

With his current stats, Reiji felt he could probably take down a mid or peak F-Rank Awakener.

"Let me test out this new skill." Reiji said as he stretched out his hand and called out.

"Water Jet!"

Water instantly formed above Reiji’s outstretched palm before shooting forward in a thin concentrated stream like a laser.

SHIIINNGG!!

Every spider caught in the path of the blast was instantly split cleanly in half. Even the tarantula’s web was sliced apart, causing some of the spiders on it to fall.

Several Black Venom Spiders were instantly torn apart as the thin stream of water sliced through the web-filled boss room.

Their severed bodies fell one after another.

Even the spiders climbing across the walls suddenly stopped moving. Even Reiji stared at his palm in shock as system notifications went off inside his head.

"This thing is insane..."

But just as Reiji was feeling excited, his eyes suddenly landed on his Mana.

Reiji immediately understood. A single use had instantly consumed 10 Mana.

’That means I only have nine shots left.’

The spiders that witnessed the attack suddenly became more cautious. But under the Silk Weaver Tarantula’s final screeches, they still charged forward fearlessly.

Reiji didn’t hesitate either and rushed forward. The system side quest was still there.

"Eliminate All Threats"

So he couldn’t just waste the remaining nine shots carelessly.

An idea suddenly popped up in Reiji’s head.

’What if I can trap them in one place all at once and kill them?’

Reiji rushed back to the round platform and immediately began his plan.

The spiders didn’t falter either and charged at him, some even launching several venomous webs.

"Water Jet!" Reiji called.

Water instantly shot out and Reiji used it to cut every web attached to the central platform he was on.

*Snap!*

The webs were sliced apart and the Black Venom Spiders on them instantly fell.

Reiji didn’t stop.

"Water Jet!"

He cut the ones underneath and the platform immediately began to shake violently.

He knew he couldn’t hesitate now because if the spiders that had just fallen began climbing back up or entered their holes again then things would become troublesome.

Reiji raised his hand upward and called out once more.

"Water Jet!"

SHIIINNNGG!!!

All the spiders that were charging forward instantly fell apart, some crashing onto the platform that was also falling.

BOOM!

The thick circular platform crashed down onto the spiders instantly crushing them beneath it.

The system notifications immediately went off inside his head. It felt as if his head wanted to explode.

Reiji didn’t think much about it and instantly rushed toward the spiders trapped beneath the platform.

*Slash!* *Slash!* *Slash!*

Reiji sliced them in half before they even had time to come to their senses.

"Phew...." Reiji fell on top of the strong yet surprisingly soft platform.

Reiji stared blankly at the screen hovering in front of him.

Reiji stared past the system screen toward the figures dangling above.

It didn’t register at first, but slowly Reiji’s eyes widened in shock as he scrambled to his feet and started climbing upward.

After climbing to the top using the holes, he reached the ceiling where the webs were attached and cut the first one.

Immediately he grabbed the second one and glided down quickly before grabbing the end of the falling web attached to the cocooned woman.

"Ahh..." Reiji grunted as he slowly let go of the web attached to the cocooned woman.

He climbed back up, pulled out the Soul Torture Blade from his inventory, sliced the web attached to the ceiling, returned the dagger, then glided back down and grabbed the end of the other falling web.

"Ahhh..." Reiji slowly released the web once again.

Reiji glanced at the cocoon beneath his feet, summoned the Soul Torture Blade from his inventory, cut the web attached to the cocoon’s end and immediately grabbed it.

Reiji then let himself fall as he held the cocooned woman protectively in his arms.

Reiji prepared himself for the soft embrace of the web, but...

Reiji landed on the platform with a loud thud.

Reiji felt as if his organs had moved from their original position from the impact.

Thankfully he reduced the impact for the other ladies before letting them fall, otherwise who knows what might have happened.

Reiji stood up. His back burned with pain.

He began carefully cutting the girls out of the Silk Weaver Tarantula’s web.

Just as Reiji was thinking about how to carry them out of the place, he suddenly heard voices.

"The backup awakeners."
