Don't Lie to Your Therapist—She Already Knows Your Fate
Chapter 177 - 175: Chaochao’s Mother Returns to the Qin Family
Jiang City was more beautiful than any city Chaochao’s mother had ever seen.
After arriving at the airport, Chaochao’s mother had originally thought they would take a taxi to the hotel or go directly to get the test done.
But as soon as they stepped out of the airport, a man walked over to Qin Hanyun, his attitude just as respectful as the previous driver’s.
"Mr. Qin."
Qin Hanyun nodded, and Chaochao’s mother knew that another driver had come to pick them up.
’The lives of the rich are perhaps even more outrageous than what I’ve seen on TV.’
The black sedan was gorgeous. Even though Chaochao’s mother didn’t recognize many car logos, she could tell it must be very expensive.
After getting in, she realized it was incredibly comfortable.
More comfortable than any car she had ever been in.
The car stopped in a hotel parking lot. Staring at the magnificent building before her, Chaochao’s mother asked, "Brother, it must be very expensive to stay one night here, right?"
Qin Hanyun looked at her seriously. "You’re my sister. You deserve to enjoy this kind of life. From now on, you are a young lady of the Qin Family. You have to get used to it."
Chaochao’s mother was grateful to hear this, but her thoughts turned to her precious Chaochao, who had endured so much hardship with her. ’If only Chaochao were here, that would be wonderful.’
Chaochao loved staying in hotels, and she had never been inside one this luxurious.
There were some things Qin Hanyun didn’t say. If a member of their Qin Family was found to be living and eating poorly, it wouldn’t just be a loss of face for the individual, but for the entire family.
He was afraid that telling Chaochao’s mother now would just be a psychological burden for her.
’It’s best to take things one step at a time.’
’She’s suffered too much. It’s time she enjoyed life.’
In certain circles, many bosses bought luxury cars not to drive every day, but to take out when negotiating deals. Letting the other party see the car basically meant the deal was halfway done.
At the very least, the other party’s attitude toward you would be much more cautious.
The car was, in a way, the face of the company.
Although at times the concept seemed a bit twisted, that was simply the reality of the situation.
Chaochao’s mother was given a single sea-view room. Qin Hanyun had originally planned for them to rest a few days before getting the test, but Chaochao’s mother was too unsettled to feel at ease in the hotel.
Early the next morning, she insisted on going for the test.
For this kind of test, as long as you paid enough, the results could be ready in a few hours.
Chaochao’s mother was in no mood to eat or go shopping, so Qin Hanyun accompanied her to a coffee shop near the testing center to wait for the results.
While they were waiting for the results, that Miss Jin they had seen at the Xiangcheng airport somehow found them.
"Brother Han Yun, I didn’t expect to see you here. What a coincidence, meeting again."
This time, she didn’t ignore Chaochao’s mother. Instead, she asked curiously, "Brother Han Yun, and this is? I saw you at the airport last time, but you left before I had a chance to say hello."
Chaochao’s mother was in no mood for pleasantries with this woman. Qin Hanyun, sensing her anxiety and restlessness, spoke directly, "She’s no one you need to know. If there’s nothing else, you can leave. We’re busy."
The smile on Jin Xiaoxiao’s face froze. "They don’t even know you’re back, Brother Han Yun. Are you staying in a hotel? Does Feifei know you’re staying in a hotel?"
Chaochao’s mother was already in a bad mood and on edge waiting for the results. Hearing such annoying words, she said, "Brother, if you have something to attend to, you should go. I can wait for you here."
"Jin Xiaoxiao, you came looking for me on purpose, didn’t you? My family’s affairs are none of an outsider’s business. If you have nothing else, leave immediately. Otherwise, don’t even think about setting foot in the Qin Family’s home ever again."
When Jin Xiaoxiao first heard Chaochao’s mother call Qin Hanyun "Brother," she had been a little angry. ’Is that something a country bumpkin like her should be saying?’
Before she had a chance to put that country bumpkin in her place, she heard Qin Hanyun’s warning.
Jin Xiaoxiao didn’t understand. ’What’s so special about this woman? Why does Qin Hanyun treat her so differently? And she even calls him "Brother" so intimately?’
But she had vowed to become Qin Hanyun’s wife, so she couldn’t afford to clash with him head-on and provoke him with harsh words at a time like this.
"Since you’re busy, Brother Han Yun, I’ll be going. I’ll come see you next time."
After Jin Xiaoxiao left, Qin Hanyun looked at Chaochao’s mother apologetically.
But Chaochao’s mother spoke first. "Brother, don’t be sorry. I understand. You’re so exceptional, of course you have a lot of admirers. It’s just that I’m in a bad mood, so I really didn’t want to deal with this kind of trouble. I know that after I return to the Qin Family, I’ll probably run into situations like this often, but right now, I just don’t feel like putting up with it."
Qin Hanyun reached out and stroked her dry, brittle hair. "If you don’t want to put up with it, then you don’t have to. Mom, Dad, and I will protect you."
The results came back quickly. Qin Hanyun and Chaochao’s mother took the report and looked at it together.
Although they were already certain in their hearts, they still felt nervous as they faced the report.
「4:00 PM, at the Qin residence.」
The Qin estate had two villas: one for Qin Hanyun’s father’s family, and one for his second uncle’s family.
The driver drove directly back to the villa belonging to Qin Hanyun’s family.
Chaochao’s mother felt deeply uneasy.
From the moment she got out of the car until she stepped into the villa, her heart was pounding with anxiety. ’Will these people treat me like family?’
’Will they look down on me?’
’Will they think that someone like me, from the countryside, is an embarrassment who isn’t presentable?’
As Chaochao’s mother was lost in her own emotions, Qin Hanyun was the first to notice that something was wrong with her.
The most frightening thing is when a person can’t overcome their own mental barriers.
Once someone sinks into that kind of emotional state, it’s as if they’ve entered another world. Unless they are willing, no one can wake them.
Of course, one must not use violent means to forcibly awaken them; that would be very dangerous.
Lost in her emotions, Chaochao’s mother didn’t notice the elderly couple standing at the door. Their faces looked relatively young, but their hair was already streaked with gray. They stared at her, their excitement barely restrained, wanting to step forward but not daring to move.
Their eyes were filled with tears, but they held them back, not letting them fall.
They took a step forward, only to pull back again and again.
"Eldest Brother, Sister-in-law, I heard Chaoyun is back! We came over to see." A loud voice called out from a short distance away.
No one paid them any mind.
"Sister-in-law, I know you miss Chaoyun, but she’s been missing for decades. You can’t just have any random woman show up and claim to be Chaoyun, can you? That’s very unfair to the real Chaoyun!"
The woman stepped forward and looked at Chaochao’s mother, her expression filled with unconcealed disdain.
Her clothes, her appearance, her aura—she looked just like a country woman. ’How could she possibly be one of the Qin Family?’
Qin Hanyun’s parents had been worried that their daughter might have psychological barriers or be afraid upon her return, so they were being extremely cautious.
But they never expected their younger sister-in-law to be so abrasive the moment she appeared. Most importantly, they were afraid she would hurt Chaoyun.
"Shut your mouth! We are not receiving guests today. Leave at once! Otherwise, don’t blame me for no longer recognizing you as my sister-in-law!"
"Sister-in-law, I’m doing this for your own good! How can you not recognize my good intentions?"
"Shut up! Can’t you understand plain language? If you think her words don’t carry any weight, then what about mine? I’m telling you to get the hell out right now! Disappear from my sight!"
Qin Hanyun’s father was already trying his best to restrain himself, yet such words still burst out.
"Eldest Brother..."
