Seeing through his thoughts, Julian Eames was a bit displeased, glared at her, and snorted: "Who’s embarrassed?"

Tiana decided not to tease him further.

She felt deeply grateful.

Thankfully, he survived.

Thankfully, he could still be harsh to her now.

She smiled gently, her bewitching fox-like eyes softening ever so slightly, speaking earnestly with every word: "Julian, no matter what you think or why you saved me, I must thank you now, truly, thank you."

"You saved my life, such a momentous thing, if not thank-worthy, then what is?"

Julian looked at her raised eyebrows, her charming face, her playful smile, feeling increasingly frustrated inside.

He’s a man, after all.

When danger looms, regardless of who’s beside him, as long as it’s a woman, even if not Tiana, he would protect them.
