Dragon Blood Saint Emperor
Chapter 123: Terrifying Method
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
A torrent of roars tore through the sky as Ye Wushuang’s figure was swallowed by the beast horde.
The earth trembled. In the air, terrifying pillars of light shot toward Wangtianya, their destructive Demon Power striking fear into the hearts of the disciples.
They could only imagine that if hit by one of those pillars of light, they would be instantly reduced to a bloody pulp!
Anx Shijie watched as Ye Wushuang was overwhelmed, a cold sneer on his face. With three or four Seventh and Eighth-Level Demon Beasts charging in, he didn’t believe Ye Wushuang had the slightest chance of survival.
"Elders, with me! We’ll block these attacks and wait for the Sect’s powerhouses to arrive." Pulling his gaze away, Anx Shijie shouted to the other Elders.
Here, only Anx Shijie had just broken through to the Spiritual Spring Realm; the others had not yet reached that level. Thus, they didn’t dare face the Demon Beasts—whose power was comparable to the Spiritual Spring Realm—on their own.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
At Anx Shijie’s loud cry, the Elders’ expressions turned grim. They unleashed all their True Essence, channeling their strongest attacks to meet the incoming pillars of light.
But their attacks were completely useless.
The Elders’ expressions changed in an instant!
"It’s not working! Everyone, quickly form the seals! Activate the defensive barrier and block these attacks!" some of the Elders shouted in a panic.
Beast tides occasionally occurred at Wangtianya. To prevent them from threatening the foundations of the Ancient Spirit Sect, powerful experts had laid terrifying defensive measures upon its walls to withstand their impact.
"Elder, someone is still outside!"
Yangg Qing’er’s cry rang out from the top of the wall.
"Hmph!" Anx Shijie barked. "Who cares who’s out there? Are they more important than all of our lives? Get out of my way!"
With that, Anx Shijie released a pulse of his aura, knocking Yangg Qing’er aside. He quickly formed several seals of True Essence and sent them sinking into the Inscriptions on the wall.
The other Elders followed his lead, channeling their own True Essence to activate the Inscriptions. They knew perfectly well that the person Yangg Qing’er was talking about was Ye Wushuang.
But at this point, they couldn’t afford to care. If the Demon Beasts ran rampant through Wangtianya and caused immense damage to the Ancient Spirit Sect, they would be held responsible. Sacrificing Ye Wushuang was their only choice.
As the streams of True Essence flowed into them, the Inscriptions on the wall blazed with a brilliant light. A massive energy shield enveloped Wangtianya, blocking the pillars of light that crashed against it.
Seeing this, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Then, a series of powerful figures rushed toward their location.
"The Sect’s strongest disciples are here!" a disciple on the wall exclaimed, looking at the newcomers.
Who else could they be but Dii Qingxue and the others!
Dii Qingxue landed beside Yangg Qing’er. Seeing the resentful look on her face, she frowned and asked, "What happened?"
"Dii Qingxue, you have to save Brother Ye! When the beast tide struck, he was attacked and left trapped outside!" Yangg Qing’er said urgently, her gaze then fixing on Anx Shijie with pure hatred.
"Attacked and left trapped outside?" Dii Qingxue’s cold gaze also fell upon Anx Shijie.
"When the beast tide arrived, Ye Wushuang didn’t hunt Demon Beasts. Instead, he attacked a fellow disciple and even tried to desert his post. His death is no great loss." Anx Shijie sneered. ’Why would I admit to attacking him? It’s not like he’s going to survive anyway.’
"You’re shameless!" Yangg Qing’er seethed with anger upon hearing his words.
"Qingxue, he’s just a boy at the Qi Vortex Fifth Layer. Let’s ignore him for now and focus on taking down those Demon Beasts," Mo Wentian said, stepping forward.
Dii Qingxue shot Mo Wentian a look, her delicate brows furrowing slightly. She then said to Yangg Qing’er, "Wait here."
With that, Dii Qingxue took a step into the void and, like an Immortal Shadow from Outer Heaven, shot out of the protective shield and flew into the distance.
"Let’s go too!" Mo Wentian and Yee Qianmo called out. They also stepped into the void, transforming into streaks of light as they shot into the distance.
"So those are our Sect’s four strongest disciples? They’re actually going to kill Demon Beasts with power comparable to the Spiritual Spring Realm. They’re terrifying!"
"That’s right. I heard their Combat Power has already reached the Spiritual Spring Realm. They can be considered true powerhouses."
The disciples on the wall were completely stunned as they watched the four of them leave.
"So what if they’ve gone? Ye Wushuang is dead either way," Anx Shijie snorted with a cold laugh, feeling an indescribable glee.
"If he dies, I will annihilate your very soul!" A cold, domineering voice suddenly rang out, jolting everyone so violently they nearly lost their footing.
Before a smile could even form on Anx Shijie’s face, a terrifying, world-crushing pressure descended upon him, like a Divine Mountain intent on pinning him to the ground.
Anx Shijie’s expression changed drastically. He unleashed his aura, preparing to resist.
Hmph!
With the sound of a cold snort, intricate patterns resembling Dao Principles instantly shot into Anx Shijie’s body.
PFFT!
PFFT!
Anx Shijie’s skin split open, and chunks of his flesh went flying.
CRASH!
His mangled body slammed into a stone cliff near Wangtianya, causing the rock face to shatter. He was embedded within it, violently spewing mouthful after mouthful of blood, like a gruesome rain shower.
Anx Shijie, an expert at the Spiritual Spring Realm, had nearly died from a single snort. Just how terrifying was that?
It was a shocking, unbelievable scene. Everyone turned toward the direction the voice had come from.
Then, everyone’s gazes fixed on the source as they cried out in shock.
"Star Elder!"
Everyone was utterly stunned. The one who had nearly killed a Spiritual Spring Realm Elder with a single snort was actually Star Elder. How horrifying!
"As a Law Enforcement Elder, you abused your authority to attack a junior disciple. You are a disgrace. Today is just a small lesson. As for your life... he will be the one to take it in the future."
Star Elder spoke calmly, yet his tone was forceful and domineering.
’If word got out that my disciple, Zhuge Xingchen’s disciple, was attacked by an Elder, what face would I have left?’
Star Elder was inwardly furious. He didn’t spare Anx Shijie a glance. Instead, his ancient eyes swept across the distance, and as if spotting something, a faint smile appeared on his face. He made no further move.
The disciples beside him, however, were filled with reverence. Today, they had finally witnessed Star Elder’s true strength.
An expert of the Spiritual Spring Realm, a true powerhouse in their eyes, was no more than an ant before Star Elder. It was utterly terrifying!
But why had he attacked Elder Anx?
The question lingered in everyone’s mind.
RUMBLE!
In the distance, the strongest disciples, Yee Qianmo and Mo Wentian, were locked in combat with two Eighth-Level Demon Beasts. The heaven-shaking clashes were a stunning sight.
Amidst the horde of Demon Beasts, a lone figure in blood-soaked clothes stood firm like a boulder in a raging river, frantically slaughtering the creatures around him. Anyone who saw this would have been left utterly speechless!
Suddenly, he sensed the distant battle. He looked up abruptly, his clear, profound eyes gazing into the distance as he clenched his fist. ’As expected of the strongest disciples. They’re so powerful. One day, I’ll reach that level too!’
This blood-soaked figure was none other than Ye Wushuang, the one who had been overwhelmed by the beast horde.
He was now covered in so much blood it was impossible to tell if it was his or from the Demon Beasts. His body was a mass of wounds, with bloody holes from which fresh blood continuously welled up.
But he was not dead.
In fact, through the crucible of countless battles, he had even gained complete mastery over the Star Saber Intent.
More importantly, hovering on the brink of life and death time and again had further tempered his character and his Invincible Dao Heart.
Combat Skills like the Life-Taking Sword, the Thunder Sword, and the Barbaric Tyrant Dragon Fist had all reached the Great Success stage during this exhilarating, life-or-death battle, significantly increasing his power.
He had nearly died, but that was a small price to pay for such immense gains.
’Now that they’re holding back those terrifying Demon Beasts, the immediate crisis is over. I need to find a way out of here. Otherwise, I’ll really be trampled into meat paste.’
Ye Wushuang schemed privately. He had fought desperately to get this far and was already heavily injured. If he kept going, death would be the only outcome, no matter how heaven-defying his Combat Power.
