Dragon Blood Saint Emperor
Chapter 161: Juying Tower
Staring at the screaming young master, the crowd was utterly dumbfounded, frozen on the spot.
Young Master Tang, the little tyrant of Yunhuang City, had just been taken down!
The crowd all turned to scrutinize Ye Wushuang, thinking to themselves, ’This kid has some serious nerve, daring to lay a hand on the little tyrant!’
Ye Wushuang paid the crowd’s stares no mind. After shooting the young master a cold glance, he turned to leave. He hadn’t used lethal force—it was just a minor punishment.
As he turned, an invitation on the ground caught his eye.
Ye Wushuang knew this invitation had fallen from the blue-clothed youth’s robes. He picked it up and flipped it over. The front was engraved with the single word "Juying."
’Could this be an invitation to the banquet at Juying Tower?’
Ye Wushuang thought this to himself and calmly tucked it into his robes. This action immediately sent the blue-clothed youth into a panic. That was an invitation he had gone to great trouble to obtain; how could he stand by and let Ye Wushuang take it?
"That..." However, he had just uttered a single word when Ye Wushuang strode away. The corner of the youth’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t dare to follow.
"Damn you, peasant! This young master won’t let you get away with this." Elsewhere, the young master was still dizzy from the blow. Half the Skin on his face looked like it had been scraped off, a gruesome sight to behold.
He clutched his face, climbing to his feet in a daze.
Seeing his chance, the blue-clothed youth’s mind raced. He hurried forward to help him up. "Young Master, are you alright?"
With the blue-clothed youth’s help, the young master finally got his balance. However, when he looked up and saw who it was, he immediately swung a backhand. A crisp SLAP echoed.
"Useless trash! You can’t even handle a single peasant! Get lost!" the young master roared. He violently shoved the blue-clothed youth aside and started chasing after Ye Wushuang, muttering through gritted teeth, "You damned peasant, I’m going to have my sister kill you."
Behind him, the blue-clothed youth stood frozen on the spot. He subconsciously reached up to touch the side of his face that had been slapped. It stung with a fiery pain.
The irony was overwhelming.
Just moments ago, he had stepped forward to help this "Young Master," blocking Ye Wushuang and attacking him as instructed.
And his reward? A slap in the face and being called "useless trash."
A sudden chill washed over him. He glanced at the crowd and saw them sizing him up with strange looks, their mockery completely unconcealed.
He wished he could crawl into a hole and disappear. Overwhelmed with shame, he could only lower his head, turn, and quickly walk away. Every extra second he remained was torture.
Ye Wushuang continued on his way. The small incident hadn’t affected his mood in the slightest. He admired the sights as he walked, and after turning down a few long streets, he arrived before a large restaurant.
Four burly, serious-looking men stood in front of the restaurant. They were all at the True Essence Third Layer, and their intimidating presence made passersby give them a wide berth.
Not everyone was deterred, however. From time to time, a few young people would walk right up to them.
These youths all had a Cultivation of the True Essence Realm or higher. When they reached the four burly men, they would present an invitation and be allowed inside.
Invitations!
Ye Wushuang studied the appearance of the invitations. ’Aren’t they identical to the one I picked up earlier?’ 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Seeing this, Ye Wushuang rubbed his nose, a slight smile playing on his lips as he strode forward.
As he approached, another young man beat him to the punch, stepping ahead of him.
Immediately, one of the burly men stopped the youth. "Your invitation, please!"
The young man looked composed. He took out an invitation, flashed it in front of the guard, and quickly put it away, preparing to enter Juying Tower.
"Hold on," the guard said suddenly, blocking his path.
The young man asked, "What is it?"
The guard stared intently at the young man and said, "Show me your invitation again, please."
"Didn’t you just check it?" The young man’s eyes darted about evasively. Seeing the guard’s stern expression, however, he hesitated. As if clinging to a sliver of hope, he handed over the invitation.
The guard took the invitation, glanced at it, and handed it back. "My apologies," he said coldly. "The Young Miss has given orders. Uninvited riffraff are not permitted entry. Please leave."
"I’m a genius too! Just bend the rules a little and let me in," the young man pleaded, preparing to force his way through. But before he could take a step, the four guards formed a human wall in front of him. "Get lost!"
The cold shout sent the young man stumbling back, right next to Ye Wushuang.
Ye Wushuang was slightly taken aback. ’So that’s how it is,’ he realized. ’This guy didn’t have an invitation and tried to use a fake one, but he couldn’t fool the guards.’
’I wonder if the one I’m holding is a fake, too?’ Ye Wushuang mused. ’It belonged to that blue-clothed youth, so there’s no guarantee he didn’t forge it himself. If that’s the case, I’ll end up just like this guy next to me.’
At this thought, Ye Wushuang couldn’t help but glance at the young man.
"What are you looking at? A country bumpkin at the True Essence First Layer like you thinks you have an invitation?" The young man, fuming, snarled at Ye Wushuang before turning to storm off.
Ye Wushuang frowned but couldn’t be bothered to respond. Harboring his own doubts, he handed the invitation to the guard.
The guard inspected it, handed it back, and called out, "Please, come in!"
Come in!
The departing young man suddenly stopped in his tracks. He turned his head just in time to see Ye Wushuang walk into Juying Tower, invitation in hand.
The young man was completely flabbergasted.
Juying Tower was vast and already quite crowded.
The moment he stepped inside Juying Tower, Ye Wushuang was swallowed by the crowd.
A quick scan revealed that the weakest cultivators present were at the True Essence First Layer, and there were only a handful of them. Even those at the True Essence Second Layer were rare. The majority were at the True Essence Third and Fourth Layers.
Beyond them, there were even some at the True Essence Fifth Layer, their auras terrifyingly powerful.
Ye Wushuang was inwardly amazed. ’Judging by its younger generation, Yunhuang City is in no way inferior to a Major Influence!’
"I am Sunx Yuan. A pleasure to meet you, brother!"
"Yunn Tao, I’ve heard much about you, Brother Sunx!"
"Brother Sunx, I’ve long heard of your great name!"
...
Inside Juying Tower, many were taking the opportunity to chat and network.
After Ye Wushuang entered, a few young men came over to offer a quick greeting before moving on. Only a few of the less popular cultivators at the True Essence First Layer actually stopped to chat with him.
He then found an open spot to sit down and sample some of Juying Tower’s fine wine. ’The taste is actually pretty good!’
"Su Yang is here!"
Suddenly, a series of gasps erupted in Juying Tower. The crowd’s gaze shifted to a man in purple robes at the entrance. His black hair flowed freely, draping over his shoulders. He was heroic and dashing, causing many of the women present to swoon.
Even Ye Wushuang was surprised. The man’s strength was immense; the aura he exuded revealed a Cultivation at the True Essence Sixth Layer. Moreover, he was clearly a genius, which gave Ye Wushuang pause.
From the shocked murmurs of the crowd, Ye Wushuang learned that Su Yang hailed from a minor family. However, his talent was terrifying. Having broken through to the True Essence Sixth Layer, he was considered a major figure in Yunhuang City.
Furthermore, rumor had it that he had a close relationship with the Tang Family’s eldest daughter, which made others even more wary of him.
THUD!
Just as Su Yang moved further into the room, a figure clutching its face burst through the entrance.
It was none other than the young master who had been chasing him!
Seeing this, a tall young man frowned and approached him. "Who are you? Don’t you know this is a private gathering?"
"Who the fuck am I? Are your goddamn eyes blind? Can’t you see?!" the young master roared.
"Young Master Tang, it’s you...!" Hearing the familiar voice, the tall youth snapped to attention, an innocent look on his face. He couldn’t be blamed; Young Master Tang’s face was currently swollen like a pig’s head, making him completely unrecognizable.
"Get out of my way!"
This Young Master Tang violently shoved him aside and frantically scanned the crowd. His eyes finally locked onto Ye Wushuang, his face twisting into a ferocious, vicious sneer. "You damned peasant! How dare you show up on my turf! You’re dead today!"
