A/N: Stormcallers are speaking in their language, I am writing in english. Me lazy.

...

"What happening!? Why the shaking!?"

In one of the Stormcaller sections, a woman wearing the same thick fur clothes walked out of her cave with a grim look on her face.

She had been resting while it all happened.

A sudden flash of light in the sky, a flash so strong that she felt it even with her eyes closed, then, the tremors. The ground shook so strongly that for a moment, she felt like her cave would collapse.

She ran out of her cave into her settlement. There she saw people panicking, just like her and then—

"VAEL’TRA NAAAAAHHHH!!!!!"

She heard distant screams, desperate screams begging for help, screams she couldn’t ignore and in an instant—

Her face hardened.

"What happened!?"

She asked in a hurry, turning towards the people around.

That was when a few Stormcaller warriors rushed towards her and—

"Chief Zoraa!! We attacked!"

One of them reported and the woman’s face hardened.

"...what?"

Soon however, a determined, cruel light shone in her eyes and—

"Who? How many?"

She asked, but the warriors—

"Not know! Not find enemy! Warriors searching! Fifth Section too many hurt, bridge collapsed!"

"Bridge...?"

Chief Zoraa felt her world collapsing. The bridge collapsed...? How was that even possible? This had never happened before!

Heck, it was rare for the Stormcaller Territory to be attacked at all. The height they were settled in, the ruthless environment that no one without years of Stormcaller training could get used to—it all made it almost impossible for anyone to attack them.

Normal Flying Beasts would almost never cut it here. The storms would overwhelm them in an instant.

This was the reason no one ever dared to attack the Stormcallers. They were the ones who did the attacking, not the other way around!

But just as Chief Zoraa was thinking all this out loud—

"Chief!"

Another Stormcaller rushed towards her with a horrified look on his face.

"What!?"

Zoraa asked, snapping at him in anger, but the warrior didn’t care about her glare, almost as if the glare was nothing compared to the horrifying sight he had just seen.

"T-The Holy Sign! Destroyed! Enemy destroyed it!!"

He reported and in an instant, Chief Zoraa’s face changed, turning pale with fright and shock. It wasn’t just her, the other Stormcallers around her were the same.

"Where all other chief?"

She asked with a grave look, but the Stormcaller Warriors... they had no answer.

All of them had signed off from their duty for the day. The only reason they were even here was because this was an emergency.

Zoraa clenched her fists, the anger in her eyes only rising further, but she couldn’t blame them. How could she?

She herself had left the Leader gathering because her work for the day was over. She had even given away her crystal, the one given so they wouldn’t disturb her rest.

A decision she was regretting, because if she had the crystal, she could have known what was happening.

Soon however, Zoraa shook her head aggressively. This wasn’t the time to think, it was time to act.

If she couldn’t talk to them through the crystal, she would go to the other leaders on her own and understand what was happening—

Or at least, that’s what she was going to do but...

"Look above!!"

Someone shouted.

Zoraa frowned, her head moved on its own and she looked above, like the sound said and there—

There she saw a silhouette.

A large silhouette of a beast with strong amber eyes. Its entire body was covered with fiery red scales, a red so deep that even in this fog and storm, its striking color couldn’t be ignored.

"A-A Dragon..."

Zoraa’s eyes widened in fright.

Not because of the existence of a Dragon—living in a place like this, disconnected from the outside world, she didn’t know the significance a Dragon held—

What she did know, however, was about a man’s appearance, a man who had an identical beast, a man who... defeated the Stonefangs all on his own.

A man who... those beings constantly warned her about, telling her about his powers, the amount of destruction he was capable of causing. Strategies to kill him, strategies that involved all of Stormcaller Leaders and other Tribes’ Leaders working together, trying to surround and defeat a single man—

that too with magical equipment those beings gave.

And that man...

That man was here now.

"F-Flying man..."

Zoraa muttered gravely as her eyes stared at the large silhouette above her. She couldn’t see Kael because of all the storm and fog, not even his blurry silhouette, but the pressure...

That she could sense.

By now, other Stormcallers had gathered too. There were almost about thirty of them, thirty that were capable of putting up a fight.

A lineup more than enough to take out even the strongest humans in Height. These Stormcallers stood behind their chief, staring at the sky, then, something moved.

Something smaller than the large beast silhouette, something more... human.

It... fell from the beast’s back and the moment his body tore through the fog and the clouds, the Stormcallers saw him and Chief Zoraa recognized him.

It was him.

The Flying Man.

Chief Zoraa clenched her fists, all this boiling anger inside her—anger she didn’t have the outlet to. Anger from having to wake up mid rest, anger from sensing the ground shake, anger from hearing her people’s screams, anger from learning that bridges had collapsed, anger from learning that their Holy Sign they had prayed to for generations had been destroyed—

All that anger now had an outlet.

And that was this man in front of her.

As she thought about all that, her anger flared even further as she glared at Kael even harder—

But then—

Kael’s hollow, expressionless blue eyes directly looked at her and that gaze—

That gaze made Zoraa flinch.

It was only for a small second, but that made Zoraa realize something—

No strong allies who could fight together with her. Those people weren’t here either.

Neither did she have the terrain advantage. The enemy was right above her—

She...

Her position wasn’t good.

Not one bit.

She gulped and then clenched her fists, prepared for whatever was about to come. The subtle fear that overtook her for a moment disappeared the next instant.

She looked at Kael again, this time, more determined. Kael looked back.

"MOVE!!"

Zoraa commanded. Her men surged forward, stepping towards where Kael was going to land. This continued for a few seconds—Kael free-falling from the sky and the Stormcallers rushing towards where he would fall—but then—

Kael, mid-air, changed his direction and pushed forward. He passed through all the Stormcallers and aimed directly for Zoraa.

"CHIEF!!"

One of the Stormcallers screamed in anger but—

Pierce

A bloodied spear came out from his chest and his eyes widened in horror. Someone attacked him... from behind.

He slowly looked down and realized it was his own ally. His eyes burned with confusion and then utter rage and—

"WHAT ARE YOU—"

He wanted to ask but—

"YOU ATTACK!? I KILL YOU!!!"

The Stormcaller who attacked him screamed with righteous energy, as if he wasn’t killing an ally but an enemy.

"AGGGGHH!!"

"ENEMY!! ATTACK!!!"

"KILL!!"

And it wasn’t just him—other Stormcallers had begun attacking their allies with pure fury in their eyes. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

It all happened so quickly. Of course, not every attacked Stormcaller died in one strike. Some managed to save their lives and they—

They fought back.

"TRAITORS!! KILL TRAITORS!!"

"KILL!!"

"THEY WITH ENEMY!!!"

The screams began.

The thirty Stormcallers that were supposed to surround and kill Kael were now attacking one another.

And the Stormcaller who was attacked first, he just stared at everything happening in absolute disbelief. Then, with eyes that were losing strength every passing second, he finally saw a small white-furred fox with hypnotic purple eyes, looking at the crowd in front of her with an amused look on her face.

But before he could say or do anything about it—

His eyes became heavier than he could bear and he... he fell.

On the other side, Zoraa, who was watching everything from a distance, constantly commanded her men, telling them to come out of it and stop fighting one another, but they didn’t listen.

If it had happened before, she would have taken on every single one of them on her own, but right now, she had bigger issues to deal with—

Kael was already here.

She took out her swords, her beasts came out as well—

Or at least, that’s what she planned to do but suddenly—

"RRRROOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!"

Kael’s face distorted into something ugly, his blue eyes turned golden and he let out a roar—a roar that, for a very small second, petrified Zoraa. And that little second was all Kael needed.

Suddenly, his speed increased even further. He dashed forward and appeared behind Zoraa, then he placed his sword on her neck and—

"If the space around you trembles, I will kill."

He threatened directly.

It was a language Zoraa did not understand, but she didn’t need to know the language to understand what was said—the intent alone was more than enough.

The same went for her beasts—

The beasts that were roaring to come out, prepared for a fight, were petrified, afraid that their companion would perish if they came out.

And Kael—

He, without saying a word, placed the collar Aurelia had given him on Zoraa’s neck, sealing her Sanctuary.
