Chapter 60: Good! Keep Going

Two grown men were guarding the entrance gate. The brown-haired man was Samuel, while the red-haired one was Arlo.

Even though their village was still in danger, they didn’t feel worried at all.

Awakeners from the Pillar Organization had arrived, so it was only a matter of time before they could kill all the magical creatures.

"I can’t wait to eliminate them all!" Samuel hated them to the bone.

He had lost his good friends and relatives to them.

Now that the opportunity to avenge them had emerged, his heart throbbed with happiness.

"Me too." Arlo’s hatred for them was as big as Samuel’s. "In the upcoming battle, I will cut their bodies into pieces and scatter their blood onto the ground as payment for the people they slaughtered."

He then continued, "I won’t stop until every single one of them screams in agony and feels exactly what their victims felt."

"Yes. We must make them face the consequences of killing our brothers and sisters." Samuel liked Arlo’s idea.

While the two were chatting, twenty magical creatures approached them.

"Hmm? What is that?" Arlo turned his head when the sound of footsteps and something pushing through the bushes reached his ears.

"Is it those damn beasts again?" Samuel increased his vigilance.

A moment later, twenty magical creatures came out of the bushes. The one leading them was a 1-star goblin.

Its skin color was red and its eyes were pitch black.

Not only was it different from a normal goblin, but it was also wearing armor and wielding a sword.

Anyone who saw it would know immediately that it was an elite goblin because its body emitted a terrifying aura.

When Arlo and Samual knew what it was, their faces turned grim.

"Arlo, sound the alarm!" Samuel closed the gate immediately.

Arlo didn’t answer and rushed to the village bell.

At the same time, the villagers chosen under Axel’s command began asking him why he didn’t teach them how to fight as a group like Virelia did.

They were going to attack the nest of magical creatures, so learning it could help them survive and kill their enemies.

"Axel, we are not awakeners like you. We can only use our hands to face them," the yellow-haired man tried to change Axel’s mind.

"Didn’t you want our team to contribute the most? I think we can fight better if you teach us how to fight in a group," the grown woman added.

"You don’t need to learn that." Axel was firm in his stance. "Just follow my orders, and you will be fine in the upcoming battle."

The villagers exchanged glances with each other.

Even though they were unhappy with his decision, they stopped speaking as they knew it would be pointless.

’Let’s hope everything will go according to what he said.’

While they watched those under Virelia’s leadership with envious eyes, the sound of the bell echoed in the air.

*Ding...Ding...Ding...

It rang out three times.

The villagers instantly stopped what they were doing and turned toward the gate.

"Axel, magical beasts are attacking us again. Let’s go kill them!" The brown-haired man grabbed his weapon, followed by the others.

Everyone understood the meaning of the bell ringing three times since it was a code they had created together.

"Great!" Axel grinned widely.

It was a good opportunity to show the villagers how amazing he was, so he was thrilled by what was going on.

"Young leader, let’s head to the gate and kill them all!" The grey-haired man rose to his feet and approached Virelia.

"Alright," Virelia ordered them to stay together.

The moment they reached the gate, they saw Samuel and Arlo shooting arrows at the magical creatures.

Even though some of the arrows hit their bodies, none of them died. They even still moved normally as if their attacks had no effect at all.

"How is the situation?" Bernard asked.

"Not good, village head!" Samuel replied. "Twenty 1-star magical creatures are attacking us. They are trying to destroy the wall."

"Open the gate now." Despite hearing the number of their enemies, Axel showed no sign of fear.

They were only at 1-star.

He believed he could handle them easily.

Samuel and Arlo nodded their heads before finally doing what they were told.

When the gate slowly opened, Virelia turned to her subordinates. "Use the formation I taught you before. As long as you don’t panic and fight like we did in training, you will be able to kill them without losing your lives."

"Understood, young leader." They replied in unison.

Virelia moved closer to Ren and said, "Little brother, this big sister will show everyone through this battle that I’m a great leader."

She then continued, "So, you must do well, too. Show them how amazing someone who has awakened both paths can be."

"I won’t disappoint you," Ren replied.

Virelia shifted her gaze to Elara and the others. "You guys try your best, too. Let’s not lose to their group."

"We will do our best." Lily, Elara, and David answered in unison.

The moment the gate was opened, they rushed toward their enemies without hesitation.

The sound of weapons clashing immediately filled the air.

While Virelia’s subordinates fought in formation, those under Axel’s command fought in a disorganized way.

Axel only told them to stay close to him, so things quickly turned chaotic for them. They even fought worse than usual since Axel kept leading them into dangerous areas.

"Cough!" The black-haired man dropped to his feet when a sword pierced his heart from behind.

Not only him, but the grown man beside him also died horribly since no one covered his back.

"Axel, help us!" the grey-haired man shouted.

Axel, who was busy striking magical breasts, turned to them. The moment he saw them struggling against their enemies, he gritted his teeth in annoyance.

’Useless!’

He had slowed down, yet they still could not keep up with him.

If he kept babysitting them, he would not be the one who contributed the most. "Rian, Jax, go help them."

"Alright." Both Rian and Jax dashed toward them.

"Should we help them too?" Luka and Vito asked.

"No," Axel replied. "Just focus on killing the beasts."

They nodded before attacking their enemies again.

On the other side, Virelia’s subordinates did well in the battle. She was always by their side and kept giving them instructions, so they were not pushed into chaos like Axel’s group.

They even managed to kill some magical creatures with only minor injuries, as if they were not ordinary people, but awakeners.

"Good! Keep going!" Virelia was satisfied with their performance.

She didn’t mind not standing out in the battle because her goal was to keep her subordinates alive and kill their enemies.

"Understood, young leader!" her subordinates replied with enthusiasm.

At this moment, Axel’s subordinates looked at them with envious eyes. They would not fall into a mess if Axel taught them how to fight in a group.

But complaining now was pointless since they were in the middle of a battle.

’They are so lucky to have a good leader like her.’

All of them suddenly wanted to be in her group because she cared a lot about her subordinates and fought alongside them.
