Dual Cultivation With My Yandere Disciples
Chapter 64: Thousand-Year Old Little Girl! Chen Xuan Was Despised!
By the time Chen Xuan opened his eyes again, the devastated battlefield was gone, along with the lingering auras of cultivators.
Instead, he found himself standing in a vast, dark void that looked particularly empty as its edges stretched endlessly into the distance.
Such a sight caused his brows to furrow.
Turning his head, he did the very first thing every cultivator should do upon finding themselves in an unfamiliar place: survey his surroundings.
But just then, a mighty pressure suddenly descended.
Red and blue lights flashed in the sky above his head, weaving together to outline two colossal creatures.
One was a mythical fiery bird with elegant burning feathers and giant wings that could block out the heavens—a majestic Phoenix.
Accompanying it was an Azure Dragon. Long and serpentine, with beautifully glinting azure scales, it drifted beside the Phoenix while breathing out crackling lightning from its whiskered jaws.
Its presence was not inferior in the slightest.
The two mythical creatures danced across the sky, their tails entwining as if they were performing a sacred ceremony.
Though Chen Xuan had lived for a long time and witnessed many grand spectacles, he was instinctively captivated by their display.
Fortunately, before he completely lost himself in their performance, the two mythical beings let out a resounding roar and a cry and started to fade away.
Moments later, they exploded with a deafening bang.
A young girl appeared in their place. Her hair was tied into twin ponytails, one red, the other blue. She appeared no older than fourteen or fifteen years old.
Glancing down at the astonished Chen Xuan, a flash of cartoonish pride crossed her face, and she raised her chin high.
"Hmph!" she declared.
"Mortal! You should be proud to have encountered my Master’s supreme inheritance! Granted, it’s impossible for someone of your puny strength to obtain the complete heritage!"
"However, there is still a chance for you to get something. As long as you satisfy my requests, I am willing to reward you with a few scraps of metal from my Master’s treasury," she said, sneering with her arms crossed over her chest.
Her words and grand entrance suggested she was a powerful entity, meant to strike fear and awe into the hearts of onlookers.
Yet, her childish tone and small frame made Chen Xuan feel the exact opposite.
Rather than an imposing powerhouse, he felt as though he were facing a little brat acting arrogant.
Suppressing the instinctive urge to ask the girl where her parents were, Chen Xuan mulled over her words.
The puzzle pieces fell together in his mind, giving him a clear idea regarding her true identity.
She was either a manifestation of the Secret Realm’s will or a subordinate left behind by the powerhouse who had constructed this space.
At the same time, Chen Xuan realized that his earlier suspicion was correct: this was indeed the place where a cultivator had left their "supreme" inheritance.
’Since that cultivator can leave this girl behind and Xiao Huo managed to stumble upon it, the inheritance is bound to be exceptionally valuable. At the very least, it must be something worthy of the Destined Protagonist’s efforts,’ Chen Xuan judged.
At any other time, he might have been interested in pursuing this opportunity. But right now, he had far more pressing issues to resolve.
Glancing up at the girl, who was staring down at him with an expression that practically said "come and praise me", Chen Xuan hesitated for a brief moment before waving his hand.
His Spiritual Energy surged, binding in the air in front of him to outline the image of a blue-haired woman.
"Cough, cough," he spoke up, suppressing the bizarre feeling of speaking with a child, "Your Excellency, have you seen this woman? Did she enter the Secret Realm before me?"
The girl instantly deflated, visibly disappointed by his lack of awe and fear.
However, perhaps due to her personality or the constraints set by the creator of the Secret Realm, she didn’t go out of her way to punish him.
She stared at the image of Tang Yuechen for a few seconds, stroking her chin like an old man.
"Hmmm... She does look somewhat familiar..." she muttered in a low voice, beginning to circle the projection with a serious expression.
A few moments later, her eyes lit up. Smacking her fist into her open hand, she exclaimed:
"Yes! This is the woman who arrived a few hours ago. Is she your companion?"
Without giving Chen Xuan enough time to respond, she immediately shook her head and clicked her tongue.
"Tsk, tsk. That little girl’s condition was extremely critical when she first tumbled into the Secret Realm. If it hadn’t been for me taking action, her Nascent Soul would have shattered within seconds."
"Ah... I’ve been so terribly lonely. If it hadn’t been so many thousands of years since anyone last visited, why would I have exerted so much effort to keep that little girl alive?" the girl muttered.
Then, her face broke into a smug smile, her dual-colored ponytails swaying wildly. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Of course, this works out perfectly! If she fails the tests, I’ll force her to stay here forever! Haha!" she laughed, clutching her stomach, "With her cultivation, she should be able to keep me company for at least a few hundred years!"
The girl’s undisguised excitement and blatant hope for Tang Yuechen to fail left Chen Xuan utterly speechless.
Had such words come from an old, sinister man, he might have assumed that they had other plans and "keep me company" had certain implications.
Yet, looking into the clear eyes of this little girl, who was actually thousands of years old, he had to believe she really wanted a friend to play with.
After a few moments, realizing the girl showed no signs of snapping out of her daydream, Chen Xuan cleared his throat and disrupted her thoughts.
"Cough, cough. Your Excellency, shouldn’t I also proceed with the inheritance? What if I happen to succeed?"
The little girl was jolted awake.
Her playful expression vanished, turning remarkably stern as she sized him up.
As her gaze swept over him, her pupils dilated violently, causing Chen Xuan to feel completely exposed. For a fleeting moment, he had the illusion that all his secrets were laid bare in the other party’s eyes.
"Hm... Your foundation is incredibly solid. You haven’t consumed any low-grade pills during your cultivation journey... You also possess several Spirit Weapons, and even... one—no—two Holy Weapons? Wait..." the girl’s brows knitted together.
"You’re a dual cultivation practitioner?" she spat out suddenly, "Sure enough, I sensed the lewdness in your gaze from the moment you arrived."
"Hmph! Men!" she snorted, completely losing her appetite for conversation with the "pervert" before her.
Her cheerful, eccentric demeanor vanished, replaced by an icy indifference.
"Since you want to undergo the trials, I won’t stop you. However, do not expect me to save your life. Whether you survive or perish depends on your own abilities. I shall apply the same rules to you as I did to that other brat," she stated coldly.
Before Chen Xuan could offer a response or ask her further questions, her figure faded into nothingness.
The next instant, the dark void around him began to rumble violently.
