Dual Worlds: I Have a Doomsday World
Chapter 70: I Have a Plan
[First mission: Kill Si Ying. Reward: 10 million credit points. Mission completion will be determined by the Black Market—no proof of kill required. However, this mission must be considered with extreme caution. There is a revenge fund of 100 million credit points on Si Ying.]
[Second mission: Destroy Tower B of the Si’s Twin Towers. Reward: 10 million credit points. Completion will again be determined by the Black Market.]
[Third mission: Destroy the defenses of the Iron Curtain System. Reward: 20 million credit points. Completion will still be determined by the Black Market.]
[These are all public missions with no limit on the number of participants and no collateral required. I have accepted all of them. I advise you to act within your means.]
[From now on, I will provide you with complete network and information cloaking to facilitate your operations.]
[The key location for this phase is the Si’s Twin Towers. In one hour, no fewer than three factions will converge there to begin their assassination attempt on Si Ying.]
[Furthermore, the core control room for the Iron Curtain System is also located in the Twin Towers, though it is unknown whether it’s in Tower A or Tower B.]
[I will provide more real-time intelligence support via instant email.]
Lin Qi wasn’t the only one to receive the email; King Arthur had received it as well.
None of the three missions were simple. Assassinating Si Ying, in particular, involved immense risk. Even a successful attempt would trigger a revenge fund ten times the size of the bounty.
One didn’t need to think hard to know that among the factions converging on the Si’s Twin Towers tonight, there would be more than just people after Si Ying’s head.
There were bound to be Mercenary Corps targeting whoever managed to kill Si Ying.
The one-hundred-million-credit-point revenge fund was far more enticing than the ten-million-credit-point bounty.
"I’m heading to the vicinity of the Twin Towers. Let’s stay in touch via our wristbands," King Arthur messaged Lin Qi.
Lin Qi replied, "Play it by ear. Stay in touch."
After sending his reply, Lin Qi didn’t rush to act.
The chaos was about to erupt, and the help his Spiritual Vision could provide would be severely limited.
Its one-hundred-seventy-meter range wasn’t enough to allow Lin Qi to operate from a safe distance.
Once the situation descended into chaos, it wouldn’t just be his Spiritual Vision that could gather information.
Technology could do the same.
Thermal imaging, life-sign detectors, long-range military-grade Prosthetic Eyes...
All of these had to be taken into account.
’I can’t get too close, and I’ll need a better disguise.’
He thought to himself as he walked out of the restroom.
He made his way to the makeshift workbench in his apartment.
On the workbench lay the second-hand Prosthetic Body parts Lin Qi had purchased on two separate occasions.
The prosthetics were low-grade, and Lin Qi had already dismantled them into scattered parts.
Now, these prosthetic parts would serve as his disguise.
His priorities were to hide his identity, plot from the shadows, and, above all, ensure his own safety.
Roughly half an hour later, Lin Qi had transformed into a tall figure who, at first glance, appeared to have over 80% of his body replaced by prosthetics.
He walked out the door of his apartment.
The detection device at the door, installed by the bodyguard Brother Green Hair, had already been taken over by Guang Ling.
Lin Qi’s departure attracted no attention.
Even as he left the Liu’s Heavy Industries senior employee apartment building, Lin Qi’s image never appeared on any surveillance device.
He walked straight down Enterprise Road for a kilometer.
Then, Lin Qi casually "borrowed" a flying vehicle, took off on the spot, and headed toward the Twin Towers.
He didn’t get too close, landing the flying vehicle in a neon-lit commercial district a full three kilometers away from his destination.
"Sir, your Prosthetic Body is incredible! Are you here to participate in Greenfield’s ’Scarlet & Peach’ themed Prosthetic Body convention tonight?"
"Sir, if you’re not a member, I can give you a complimentary invitation to the convention tonight. Your Prosthetic Body is so unique, so beautiful."
Lin Qi waved them off and headed toward a massive, oval-shaped building within the commercial district.
The building’s outer walls were composed of screens, broadcasting scenes from inside the venue.
It was a racing circuit for flying vehicles, where a fierce competition was currently underway.
Atop the building, a massive sign was displayed.
[Big Business Alliance - Formula Vehicle Dogfight Racetrack]

「The Si’s Twin Towers, inside Tower B, the top floor.」
Si Li, the current head of the Si Clan, was meeting with Liu Xingzhou, the man currently in charge of the Liu Clan’s affairs in Greenfield City.
Si Li wore a dark expression, and his tone with Liu Xingzhou was unfriendly. "This business with Si Ying, was it your Liu Clan’s doing?"
Si Li couldn’t figure out who would backstab the Si Clan at a time like this, and in such an outlandish, almost grotesque, manner.
The only culprit Si Li could think of was the Liu Clan, since Si Ying had just done almost the exact same thing to them.
Liu Xingzhou shook his head. "You should know the Liu Clan’s way of doing things. We don’t break our promises."
"The Si Clan has already made sufficient concessions for their previous actions. We have no reason to violate our agreement."
Among the major corporations, interests always come first.
This was true even for strategic allies like the Si and Liu Families.
Once the interests were clearly laid out, it was easy to see whether either side had a motive for betrayal.
It was obvious that the Si Clan and Liu Clan were inextricably linked; if one were to fall, the other would be left vulnerable. The Liu Clan had no reason to betray them at a time like this.
Liu Xingzhou’s expression was strange. "Don’t tell me Si Ying is really the Si Clan’s heir? Hiding in plain sight?"
In truth, Liu Xingzhou didn’t think Si Li would be that audacious.
The Si and Liu corporations had worked together for many years, and Liu Xingzhou considered himself to be quite familiar with Si Li’s way of doing things.
Even though the intelligence circulating outside was incredibly detailed and Si Ying seemed exactly like an heir hidden in plain sight.
"That’s none of your business," Si Li said, his voice hoarse.
Though the two families were strategic allies, when it came to the identity of an heir, neither corporation would be the least bit complacent.
Liu Xingzhou shrugged. "Regardless of whether Si Ying is the heir to Si Pharmaceutical, he cannot be allowed to die tonight."
Liu Xingzhou’s attitude was resolute.
If Si Ying was the real heir, he absolutely could not die. Once he was dead, the strategic alliance between the Si and Liu Families would be in jeopardy.
The situation for Liu’s Heavy Industries in Greenfield City would become precarious, if not completely reversed. They would be hard-pressed to stand alone.
If Si Ying was a fake, he still couldn’t be allowed to die.
Because of Si Ying’s existence, the Liu Clan had managed to temporarily retreat from the center of the storm.
Si Ying had captured the attention of every faction in Greenfield City.
Liu Xingzhou hoped this situation would continue, allowing the Liu Clan to happily continue hiding in the murky waters.
"No one is going to kill him. I’ll see to that."
Si Li turned his head and looked behind him.
Si Ying was standing there meekly, all trace of the manic energy he’d displayed when he met Lin Qi completely gone.
He was completely withdrawn, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Perhaps he was afraid.
Perhaps he knew that death was closing in, step by step.
"Go wait on the 82nd floor. You won’t die tonight."
Si Li waved his hand, dismissing Si Ying.
It was clear that after the day’s tense situation had emerged, Si Li had given Si Ying a thorough "education." He was even trembling as he walked.
...
Lin Qi sent an email: "Guang Ling, I have a plan..."
