Thump!!

Thumppp!!

Hearing the sound of thumping coming from the tunnel, Adam looked at their situation. Two of his comrades have been killed, while Vaidya had begun to sustain some injury.

He and Clayra were fighting without any complication, but if another wave came, they wouldn’t be spared. At the very least, they wouldn’t be able to fall back without another loss.

They might even have had a chance among the normal monsters..., but with the addition of this anomaly, the situation had become unnecessarily dangerous.

Manipulating blood between its fingers, the demon moved like an incarnation of the war god himself.

Thumppp!

The reverting sounds of the monster steps brought Adam back to reality as his gears in his mind churned. Gulping a mana potion, he poured it all in the spell he was weaving and muttered.

"Psychic detonation..."

If it were to be used on a single target, it is capable of blowing their soul away... but now that used on multiple monsters, it only causes them immense pain.

ARGhhhH!!

Arghhh!!

Their low growls turned into painful shrieks as Adam moved backward toward the path they had come.

’Fuck... fuck.... where did things go wrong?’

Gritting his teeth, he looked ahead and shouted in the distance, "Let’s retreat..."

Not knowing how many more monsters there were, Adam decided it was time to fall back.

Unlike his intended target, the first to respond to his words was the anomaly. Clutching its head, the demon looked dead in its eyes. It’s bloody red eyes, conveying the ruthlessness.

Finding a breathing air, Vaidya drank a mana potion and began manipulating the stone beneath her feet. The pillar changed its shape as it created a path leading her to Adam.

"Vaidya... come here."

As if not hearing his words, she continues to bust the goblin’s head one after another. As if having lost all reason, she remained in perpetual motion, killing them.

[Clayra, let’s go... we have to get back.]

Calling her directly in her head, Adam instructed Vaidya on their next course of action.

"Vaidya, prepare the spell to close the entrance..."

For the first time, the formation of this cursed dungeon will prove to be useful to them.

"On it..."

Looking at the small, narrow entrance, Vaidya estimated the mana needed to close the entrance. She weaved mana, but it betrayed her. She tried again, but it did it again.

’Focus... FOCUS’

Gritting her teeth, she glanced toward the cold corpses before closing her eyes. Biting her lips until flood came, she took a deep breath.

Her heart clenched in pain, and tears filled her eyes. Every fiber of her being yelled for assurance, but she continued to weave mana. Channeling it in her hand, she moved closer to the entrance.

Reaching, she touched the wall, letting it flow into its creaks.

[CLAYRA... FALL BACK]

This time, Adam’s shout seemed to pull her attention.

Looking at him, Clayra begged for some time. She doesn’t want to go away... yet. Her incompetence had killed them... she doesn’t want to leave them alone, along with the monster.

Because she knew what they would do with it.

[Nooo, we don’t have time... the effect of the spell will wear off soon. Please listen of do you want to kill us as well.]

The thorn around her heart clenched more as she heard the words coming from his mouth. It hurt even more when she knew it was true. Sulking, she activated her dash and reached the duo in an instant.

The effect had worn off as the demon rose from its feet.

Clutching her, she looked at the monsters and barked, "MARK... MY WORDS I WILL BE THE ONE TO KIL-"

Before the words could end, the tunnel molded itself, closing itself.

"I will wait..."

Smirking Lucian stood on his feet and looked at the closed entrance. Manipulating the blood on the ground, he formed a crimson sphere. Condensing it even more, he shortened the sphere to a point.

Getting closer, he put his hand on the wall and fired the beam.

Smoke appeared as the beam tore right through the wall, creating a small hole. Peeping through it, Lucian found they had run away.

The dungeon was empty... exactly how he wanted it to be.

Thump!!

The wave of monsters arrived as he moved toward the corpse of the swordsman. Picking up the swords, he smiled in pleasure. The item signifies his victory and his first tribute to the dungeon.

’It starts to fill the treasure...’

Earning something for the dungeon brought him immense ecstasy. Far greater than even the joy he had felt during the battle.

Hahahahahh!!!

Laughing hysterically, he danced among the corpses. The blood danced along with him, moving closer to its master. Soon, all of it formed a thin line getting closer to his lips.

Drinking the blood, Lucian licked his lips before commanding the goblins, "Pack them..."

Letting them do the work, he moved toward a scout and kneeled. Half a second later, a being appeared behind him, tapping him on his shoulder.

"Good work..."

A smirk appeared over his face as he stood up and looked at his master. Before he could give him any report, he heard a request.

"And can you please... hmm!! Can you not do the dance next time?"

Lucian didn’t know why it could be a problem, but he agreed without any hesitation, "No need to ask, master. I do as you command."

"Let’s goo then.." Dhruv muttered as the monster gathered around him. Taking them all in, he activated teleport once again and dropped the monster in the jungle.

He and Lucian, on the other hand, teleported again and moved deeper into the dungeons. They had brought the corpse along with them.

Looking at the shimming core, Dhruv stripped them of everything and picked Daniel first. As he looked at the corpse, a small but obvious hesitation appeared.

Looking at their age, he felt a deep sense of regret.

If they weren’t on the earth, these men would be happily attending their college, enjoying their young lives. Although he wasn’t fortunate enough to attend them himself, he never looked at others with envy.

And that’s why the regret felt heavier on him.

’If only you hadn’t come here...’ He sighed regretfully.

Dhruv didn’t hate anything more than when someone forces their duty onto others. That’s why he detests his previous world.

A world where those who should be growing is instead forced to survive. This world is no different.

"A curse..."

Calming his mind, he went closer to the core and put the corpse beside it. Soon, a panel appeared in front of him.

[Do you want to offer the corpse to the dungeon?]

[Yes/No]

Dhruv nodded as the corpse disintegrated into golden particles before getting absorbed in the dungeon. He was about to move to pack the next dungeon when the dungeon informed him of something.

[No core detected.]

[Do you want to reanimate the being?]

[Yes/No]
