It wasn’t until Kyle Kinston left the room, and she heard the sound of the door closing, that Mabel Quinn slowly opened her eyes and sat up.

She looked down; the child... was still in her belly, and she knew she had to make a decision.

Once, she thought she and he would grow old together and spend a lifetime.

But it turns out, some things are just too hard, far too hard...

The next day, Alice Conley came to Kyle’s mansion once again under the guise of a visit. When alone with Mabel Quinn, she quickly lowered her voice and asked, "The child, is it still there?" Previously, to avoid arousing Kyle’s suspicion, she had deliberately reduced the frequency of her visits to her friend.

"It is." Mabel replied.

Alice let out a big sigh of relief; fortunately, the child was still there, Daniel Harris really got it done! Alice couldn’t help but admire Daniel a bit.

It seemed there really weren’t many people who could pull off such a thing right under Kyle Kinston’s nose.

"Did you go to Daniel Harris?" Mabel asked.

"Yes." Alice responded, "Besides him, I really didn’t know who else to ask for help." After all, Kyle Kinston was indeed not someone easy to fool!

"Thank you, Alice." Mabel said, "Also, if you have the chance, please help me thank Daniel Harris. I’m not really in a position to thank him myself."

Whether calling to thank him or thanking him in person, either way could easily arouse Kyle’s suspicion, so Mabel simply did nothing.

Alice obviously understood her friend’s concerns, hence said, "Okay, I get it." She then asked how Daniel Harris managed to help keep the child.

And Mabel then briefly described to Alice what had happened in the Surgery Room the previous day.

"So what are you planning to do now? Although the child is temporarily saved, your belly will continue to grow bigger day by day, and at most you can hide it for two to three months." Alice said, as this ultimately was not a long-term solution.

"I will find a way." Mabel said with a gentle smile. This smile was calm, yet also bitter, but at the same time, it held a kind of strength, "Since this child is now safe, I must let it come into this world peacefully."

Seeing this, Alice couldn’t help but feel a wave of heartache; she had once lost a child, knew that kind of pain, and so even more did not want her friend to suffer that.

"If you need my help, just say the word." Alice said.

"Alice, you have already helped me a lot, and for the rest, I want to do it myself." Mabel said. She didn’t want to involve her friend too much because if anything were to happen, she wouldn’t want her friend to bear Kyle’s anger.

No matter what might happen between her and Kyle in the future, she hoped Alice could be safe and happy.

After resting for two days at the mansion, Mabel Quinn went back to the Corporation and submitted a resignation letter. Brother Kuang felt regret in his heart, but he didn’t attempt to persuade her to stay. After all, Mabel Quinn was no longer just a small screenwriter, but also Kyle Kinston’s wife, the mistress of the grand Kinston Family.

Brother Kuang had actually long been mentally prepared for Mabel Quinn eventually resigning.
