Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1074 - 1113: Proposing Divorce
The two walked out of the Kinston Family Ancestral Hall and returned to the Kinston residence, where Uncle Kang was organizing things. Mabel Quinn approached and saw that Uncle Kang was sorting items related to the wedding banquet, such as invitations and favor samples.
"Young Master, Young Madame, you’re back. Come take a look, all these samples are here. Which ones do you like?" Uncle Kang said warmly.
All these items were laid out on the table, each one exquisite.
Kyle Kinston lowered his head and said to Mabel Quinn, "Have a look, which ones do you like?"
"Yes, Young Madame, please choose. If none of them are to your taste, I can have new ones made. I guarantee that everything for your and the Young Master’s wedding will be perfect," Uncle Kang said with a smile. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Seeing Uncle Kang’s smile, Mabel Quinn could only bite her lip slightly and say, "Uncle Kang, I... could I think it over tonight and tell you tomorrow?"
"Of course, no problem," Uncle Kang replied. "Even if you need a few more days to decide, it’s fine. These things aren’t too urgent." As he spoke, he handed the sample book to Mabel Quinn.
Holding the book, Mabel Quinn lowered her gaze and said softly, "Then I’ll go back to my room." With that, she walked briskly toward the stairs.
Behind her, a pair of phoenix eyes watched her departing figure thoughtfully, the thin lips tightly pressed.
In the evening, when Kyle Kinston entered the bedroom, he saw Mabel Quinn staring blankly at the booklet Uncle Kang had given her that afternoon.
"What’s wrong? Still can’t decide?" he asked.
Mabel Quinn snapped back to reality, her almond eyes looking at the man before her. She pressed her lips tightly together and then took a deep breath, saying, "Kyle, can we get a divorce?"
The word "divorce" was the result she’d come to after much thought. Now, being in Falling City, the city where he grew up and also where they married, it felt more like a farewell ceremony to her, also telling herself it was time to cut the ties.
His eyes suddenly narrowed, his phoenix eyes fixed on her. The light smile that had been on his handsome face was now gone without a trace.
Their eyes locked, hers calm, and yet he, usually so composed and calm, now had a noticeably rapid breath.
After a moment, he was the first to lower his eyes slightly, a curve appearing at the corner of his lips, "I’ll take everything you just said as nonsense. If you’re tired, just rest early. As for the things in the booklet, if you don’t want to choose, that’s fine. I can pick them later and have someone procure them."
His demeanor appeared as if what she had said earlier was just a baseless tantrum.
So Mabel Quinn had to be even more explicit, "Kyle, I want a divorce. I’m not talking nonsense; it’s something I’ve thought about."
The smile that had barely formed on his face froze again, "Mabel, do you even know what you’re saying?!" His voice was very low and grave, and in his phoenix eyes, the shadow grew heavier, the veins in his forehead bulging, a clear sign to anyone that he was extremely furious, though he was trying very hard to restrain himself.
If she were wise, she would know to drop the topic at the right time. But... but this was a topic they couldn’t avoid.
"I know," Mabel Quinn said, looking directly at him.
