Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1078 - 1117: So-Called Willingness
As soon as she entered the bedroom, she couldn’t wait to rush into the bathroom, leaning over the sink to vomit for quite a while before she was finally done.
In fact, ever since she pretended to have an abortion that day, she rarely experienced morning sickness. Even if she did, it was mostly when she was alone. Sometimes Mabel Quinn couldn’t help but think, maybe the child in her belly also knew something and wanted to live, as if there were some kind of divine intervention at play.
Looking at her pale face in the mirror, she silently cheered herself up once again in her heart. No matter how hard it would be, she was determined to give birth to the baby.
She rinsed her mouth and wiped her face again with a towel before walking out of the bathroom.
But as soon as she opened the door, she saw Kyle Kinston standing outside.
"What happened to you just now?" Kyle Kinston asked, frowning slightly.
"Nothing," she lowered her head, fearing that her expression might give something away and let him notice something. "It’s just that you were so close just now, I felt a little uncomfortable."
His face darkened. Her words could always easily affect his mood. "Does my being close make you uncomfortable?" he said coldly, "Mabel Quinn, don’t forget we’re already married. Even if I wanted you right here and now, it would be perfectly justified!"
As he spoke, his right hand grabbed her chin, forcing her to look up at him.
She gave a mournful smile, "So, do you plan to take me here? If I refuse, are you going to use force to make me submit?"
His face was gloomy, his eyebrows tightly furrowed. "I won’t force you!"
"Yes, you want it to be willing. Just like the abortion, you wanted me to willingly use the child’s life to exchange for Uncle’s chance of survival," Mabel Quinn said. Though her heart was dead, when mentioning this, she still felt suffocated.
It was as if she was experiencing the moment again, feeling like she was plunged into an ice hole.
Her words, and that mournful smile on her face, made his body suddenly stiffen. His fingers, which were holding her chin, seemed to have been burned and instantly loosened. "You... since you’re uncomfortable, then have a good rest." After he said this, he almost left in a somewhat flustered manner.
Outside the bedroom, Kyle Kinston punched the wall hard, yet it seemed unable to vent his emotions.
He cared so much about her, loved her so much, clearly didn’t want to lose her, but why did it feel like he was pushing her further and further away?
This feeling was so distressing, so maddening.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Mabel Quinn let out a long, bitter sigh. At least... he hadn’t noticed her morning sickness earlier. At least... he didn’t know yet that their child, the one he was determined to abandon, was still alive.
In the following two days, the atmosphere in the Kinston household was oppressive. Butler Kang no longer had the cheerful demeanor he had a couple of days before but appeared worried.
Naturally, Mabel Quinn knew what Butler Kang was worried about, but she was powerless.
And in these two days, although she and Kyle Kinston were in the same house, they barely ran into each other, except occasionally at meal times, but even then, they hardly spoke.
