Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1157 - 1196: A Strange Harmony
Mabel Quinn felt a bit speechless. He really wasn’t afraid of being recognized by fans, huh? Luckily, the library had the heat on, so the temperature was just right. She didn’t need to worry about him catching a cold.
Mabel watched Atlas Shaw, who had already fallen asleep on his arms. To others, he’s the distant, aloof superstar actor, but in front of her, he was just like an ordinary big boy.
Between his brows, there was a hint of exhaustion. She thought about the news concerning him these days. It seemed an actor had quit, causing many scenes to be re-shot. These days, the entire crew was working overtime. He probably had been tied up with reshoots.
Outsiders only see his success and marvel at his acting skills, yet never consider that even geniuses need to put in efforts behind the scenes.
Mabel picked up a book, opened it, and propped it up in front of Atlas Shaw to prevent him from being recognized.
Having finished these tasks, she buried herself back in her work, rereading materials and taking down key notes.
Time passed slowly.
Yet the two of them gave off a strangely harmonious vibe, as if even the atmosphere around them felt different.
Anyone might think they were a couple, with the man accompanying the woman to the library.
Kyle Kinston even overheard a girl murmuring while looking at Mabel Quinn, "How nice, her boyfriend came with her."
His face instantly grew darker, and even Kyle’s nearby guards were filled with trepidation upon seeing their boss’s expression.
Once Mabel finished her research and returned the books to their spots, she nudged Atlas Shaw, still resting on the table. "Wake up now."
Atlas Shaw lazily opened his eyes and yawned, "Finished?"
"Yes, it’s done," she replied.
He got up, and they both left the library. Atlas Shaw’s phone rang as soon as they exited. Upon answering, the enraged voice of Leo, his top agent, blasted through, "Atlas, where did you sneak off to this time? It’s one thing to leave during the meeting, but there’s a whole lot of scenes scheduled today! Don’t leave me hanging, or I swear the director will kill me!" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Leo’s voice was loud enough for Mabel Quinn to hear it too.
Only then did she realize he sneaked out earlier. "You better head back, or Leo might come after me," she suggested.
And before she finished speaking, Leo’s call came through indeed, unsurprisingly asking her if Atlas was with her and, if so, hoping she could urge him a bit.
Mabel confirmed, and after ending the call with Leo, she glanced at Atlas by her side.
Atlas Shaw wore a look of regret, shrugged rather helplessly, "Alright, I got it. I’ll head to the set now."
"Need me to take you?" she asked.
"No need, it’s not on your way. If you take me to the set, you might miss picking Ivy up later. I’ll just get a cab," he replied.
"Alright... Oh wait." She paused.
"What’s up?" He turned around to look at her.
"Your hair is too messy, it’s sticking up on the side," she commented.
He casually combed through his hair with his fingers, movements effortlessly suave—like those in a shampoo ad—but the more he combed, the messier it got.
