"But, I’ve never done a paternity test," Mabel Quinn said.

"When your finger was accidentally cut by a shard, and you bled, I saved the tissue with your blood and personally took it to a testing center in Country Y. There, they took my blood for a DNA test," Edward Quinn said. "If you still have doubts, we can find another testing center and do it again."

Mabel shook her head, "No need, I believe you." She trusted what her uncle said, it was just an intuition.

Edward smiled, but his eyes were filled with tears. He sighed deeply, raised his hand, and gently caressed Mabel’s head, "It’s me, as a father, who was too dumb and foolish. Clearly, my daughter has been by my side for so many years, and clearly, I’ve seen you every year, but never did I suspect or doubt."

"But how could it be... such a coincidence?" Mabel was astonished. She had too many questions. Why was she the one picked up by the adoptive father of the Quinn Family branch? Granny wanted to make amends, and maybe the adoptive father intended to tell her everything truthfully when she turned 18.

Edward looked at Mabel, his voice trembling slightly, "Mabel, I’m not a good father. I’ve never fulfilled my duties as a father, and many things are my stubbornness. Do you still want to acknowledge me?"

Mabel was a bit dazed.

"If you don’t want to... then... I... I can continue being your uncle, just your uncle," Edward said. He knew he made too many mistakes. The root of all these tragedies was his lack of trust in Clover back then.
