Chapter 136: [Bonus Chapter]No turning back

"There is no turning back for me now, Xiran. My heart has chosen you, it won’t be able to choose or love anyone else. Don’t you realize how much I struggled before coming to terms with my feelings? Do you think I don’t know what lies in your heart for your enemies? I still choose you and I have burnt all the bridges to the point of no return." Aselia was emotionally drained because of what she had just witnessed but she knew this was just the beginning of their turbulent relationship.

"That’s my brave girl, I understand how you feel..." Xiran’s words were cut short by the sounds of clamoring footsteps and yelling from outside. Hunters were here for him.

"Xiran! You have to go. Come with me." Aselia grabbed his hand and they made their way to the back side of the lab, avoiding the blood-splattered floor so they won’t leave footprints. Aselia pushed open the back door and they stepped out into a corridor that lead to the hangar. Xiran closed the door behind him and broke the doorknob, throwing it on the ground with a clatter. The sounds were getting louder in the lab behind them as they ran toward the outer door.

Reaching it Aselia said to Xiran: "Wait here," and she stepped outside into the hangar to access how many people were there. There were two men on the air control tower while a few engineers and agents were repairing a plane. Seemed like they hadn’t received the information of Xiran’s escape, but just then the red emergency light began to glow and a siren began to sound, indicating the escape of a prisoner.

Immediately men on the air control tower sprung into action and the hangar began to shut down so no one could escape. Hearing the siren Xiran followed Aselia outside, the agents were taken by surprise seeing him emerge from the door.

"Just don’t kill them," Aselia pleaded as Xiran strolled toward the men with his back and arm muscles flexing. Men were clamouring to their feet with weapons ready to attack Xiran. Bullets began to rain on Xiran as more and more hunters began to file in the hangar from the adjoining door.

Aselia rushed to the control tower, leaving Xiran to handle the men below. Climbing the stairs two at a time she barged in through the door of the control room. Baffled faces of the two men took in her appearance and they relaxed a bit.

"How did the prisoner escape? White Falcon," One of the men inquired. Instead of answering, she simply moved closer to him and threw a neck chop to his vagus nerve. The move was so swift and clean that the man had no chance as he heaped to the ground.

Seeing this the other man’s eyes flew open in terror as he bellowed: "What are you doing?" And tried to grab Aselia, but she was ready for him. Evading his attack she threw a kick to his temple, it connected and he lost consciousness as well, falling to the ground with a thud.

Aselia quickly took control of the tower and glanced below to see what was going on. Since the facility was underground and the whole area was covered with a dome. The only way out was through the main hangar door. She pushed the button and the door began to slide open.

Meanwhile, Xiran had taken control of the situation below and almost all the agents and hunters had been knocked out, he had kept his promise and had not killed anyone. A few of the tranquilizers had hit him in the arm and chest but couldn’t pierce his tight skin, only his neck was his vulnerable part.

Aldridge and Yurian followed by five more hunters entered the hangar. The man in charge was fuming with the development of what was transpiring. He was in a meeting with Yurian when the news of Xiran’s escape reached him.

Aldridge stood tall with the Executioner gun aimed at Xiran while other hunters surrounded him.

"How did you escape? Stand down, I won’t let you leave." Aldridge thundered at him and fired. Xiran tilted his head and gave him an amused look before effortlessly dodging his bullet. Other hunters followed pursuit but it was of no use.

Aselia descended the stairs and grabbed a tranquilizer gun from an unconscious hunter. Without wasting a single second she began to attack her fellow hunters, who were posing hindrances in Xiran’s escape. Aldridge was shocked beyond belief seeing her action.

"White Falcon, have you lost your mind? What are you doing?" His voice echoed as the last of the hunter fell and Aldridge was left standing alone with a bewildered Yurian.

"Setting him free, move aside Sir. I don’t want to use a tranquilizer on you." Her voice didn’t quiver and held no remorse, instead, she stood tall with a determined face and aimed the gun at him, Aldridge had trained the elven girl too well.

Xiran had stealthily moved behind Aldridge but he had anticipated Xiran moving closer, so he rolled to his side before Xiran could grab him. But as Aldridge turned his head, Xiran was onto him and seized him by his collar.

More hunters emerged and began throwing smoke bombs and tear gas, which was especially fatal to vampires. "Xiran, don’t breathe and get out of here. I will cover you." Aselia shouted at him seeing the situation getting out of hand.

Xiran glared at Aldridge and a threatening resonance sounded: "I am leaving for now. You owe your life to her as she begged me to leave you alive. But, if any harm came to her, if you even touched a tiny hair on her head, I will return and kill each one of you, before flattening this to the ground." Aldridge gave him a disdainful look but kept his lips sealed. The dense smoke was surrounding them and he had little time.

"Xirannnn, go." The desperate voice of Aselia reached him and he threw Aldridge to the floor and with a whoosh escaped through the hangar door, once outside he flicked his wings open to put a safe distance between him and the headquarters.

The guns on the outer towers came alive as Xiran sprinted, dodging the bullets he used his full speed and was soon out of their reach.
