Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 154: Aselia meets Irlana
"Aselia, I don’t exactly remember what happened that night but I can assure you that Rivan will never regret saving a child’s life. Don’t think like that, I just wish I could remember a glimpse of you from that night."
The atmosphere around them had turned serious as the soft music played in the background, while Xiran raked his mind but came up with nothing. Although the weather outside the car was extremely cold and seemed like snow will fall soon, Aselia felt like sweating due to anxiety.
"I wish the same if only I could remember you," her voice trailed off because that night haunted her in the worst possible ways.
"I am sorry about what my father did to your family, I never apologized to you for that. I wish I could have saved your parents as well," Xiran reached out and took her hand in his and squeezed gently.
"It’s not your fault, I have wrongly labeled you for your father’s crimes before when in reality you are a victim too, although I don’t know what he does to you but have a feeling it’s heinous," the hold on her hand tightened and she knew his father had hurt him beyond her imagination.
She placed her hand on his and vowed: "I promise I will kill him for both of us."
He gazed at her and she was already staring at him with determined eyes and he knew there was no stopping her. Thankfully, they reached Rivan’s office building. It was a rectangular glass structure about 15 stories high with RX-Fashion House embossed on it in an azure shade. Blue was Rivan’s color.
Parking the car in the underground parking lot they got out and like a prince, Xiran offered his arm to Aselia which she gladly took. "Come," he murmured lovingly to her and guided her forward.
Using the elevator they headed for the top floor where Rivan’s office was located. Turning to Aselia he adjusted her beanie so her ears were well covered and she couldn’t help but smile at his concerns as he held her face and whispered: "Don’t remove your mask or beanie, until I say so," she nodded.
Once the elevator dinged they got out and Xiran removed his mask. This floor only housed Rivan and his secretary’s office and Xiran had met his new secretary thrice now, she was nice.
Seeing Xiran approach Irlana scrambled out of her office, just like Aselia she had her ears covered by the style of her hair.
"Señor Xiran, it’s good to see you again," she offered them a warm smile. Her eyes went to their locked arms and she wondered who the white-dressed girl was. She observed how beautiful Aselia’s eyes were and how affectionately she held Xiran’s arm.
"Hello Irlana, is Rivan in his office?" Xiran inquired with a slight smile.
"I am afraid not, he is downstairs in the PR department. Just giving the finishing touches to tomorrow’s event. I can take you to Sir," Irlana proposed. Aselia felt relieved at the news, she didn’t want to face him.
"No no, carry on with your work and let him do his. I am sure he is very busy because of tomorrow’s event, I just needed to visit the hairstylist. I booked an appointment earlier so we will be on our way," Irlana nodded at his words and Aselia observed how Irlana couldn’t keep her eyes off him, but there was no lust in her eyes. It was something else, something Aselia couldn’t place.
"As you feel best Señor, let me know if you need any help," she flashed him a hearty smile and he nodded before turning back to the elevator and wearing his mask.
Once inside the elevator, Xiran pushed the button for the seventh floor where the Style department was situated. Aselia said: "That was one pretty girl he keeps as his secretary."
"She is new, his previous one is on maternity leave so he had to get by, he was very apprehensive but the girl seemed to be doing a good job so he is satisfied and mind you Rivan is a very hard man to satisfy when it comes to work," Xiran explained with a chuckle thinking about the people who had to feel his wrath and some who might be doing right now.
"As if you are any less scary with your employees," Aselia rolled her eyes knowing how much Frila and Carios feared him.
"Well, multiply that by ten and you will get Rivan," he chortled and his whole frame shook as if he was remembering an inside joke as he continued to speak:
"Once he fired his whole Quality Assurance Department because one of the dresses had low-quality fabric and they all kept blaming each other for it, he was so furious with them that he made them create the new dress with their own money and paid them no compensation when he let them all go, he can get pretty scary when it comes down to the quality of his work. No wonder he is one of the top designers in the fashion industry right now."
Xiran provided Aselia with insight while she couldn’t comprehend him as scary, she had always seen him calm, even on the phone call he made. She wondered if he would still be calm when he will finally meet her.
The elevator dinged and the door flew open as they reached the seventh floor. Both of them walked outside and met the hustle and bustle of workers going about their daily routines. Some were rushing along while others quietly managed their duties.
Xiran led Aselia to the Stylist’s room and knocked on the red wooden door. A petite woman with a caesar cut opened it. She seemed to be in her late forties due to slight wrinkles on her face.
"Señor Xiran, welcome welcome," her slender face lit up with a smile and her eyes twinkled as she took Xiran’s hand in hers and patted it.
"Madame Garbacia, thank you, always a pleasure to meet you, I booked the appointment. I know how busy you are due to the event tomorrow, so I am highly obliged that you took out time for us," Xiran thanked the petite stylist.
"Oh! I am always free for you," she teased him and Aselia sensed they had known each other for quite a while and wondered if there was some other connection she didn’t know about.
