Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 164: Vow to Carios
Carios and Frila quickly bowed their heads, dread crossing their faces, as they began to shake from fear. Xiran strolled toward them, there was so much rage on his face as if he was ready to blaze the place and people who spoke against her. Aselia was not expecting him to come this early, she felt her heart jolt, thinking about what he will do to Carios.
"What’s going on here? Who permitted you to talk to her like that?" Xiran’s voice was hoarse and threatening as he stopped near Carios who stood with his head bowed.
"Xiran, I wanted to talk to Carios, I called him here. It’s not his fault," Aselia quickly got out of her seat and made her way to him before the situation would escalate.
But Xiran’s whole attention was on Carios and the hateful words he had uttered were unsettling him. He grabbed Carios’s collar and jerked him so he would look at him. A shriek escaped Frila’s throat at his action as she mumbled: "Please, señor have mercy, forgive him," she was shaking uncontrollably.
Carios was unable to form words, his eyes were wide open seeing the wrath that was about to unleash on him from his Sire.
"Xiran put him down," Aselia rushed over and stood beside him, she calmly asked while touching his shoulder. Xiran jolted him with so much power that his whole body shivered.
"Why? After I specifically told you people, no one will say anything to her. Why, then?" Xiran’s voice was so loud that Frila covered her ears and cowered in terror and Carios’s eyes were moist with tears of humiliation, for his Sire had never been so stern with him before.
"Xiran, either you let him go right now and we handle this civilly or I will leave here and won’t come back," Aselia’s voice was low but the threat it held was enough for Xiran to come back to his senses.
He turned to give her a displeased look for her words had hurt him but he knew she was capable of doing what she said for her expression was deadpan.
Unwillingly, Xiran loosened his grip on Carios and pushed him back with so much force that he staggered and fell a few meters away. Xiran took a step back from him, his chest still heaving from all the pent-up anger inside him. Frila frantically dashed to his side and took him in her arms before steadying him.
"You fucking touch her, I will end your life, Carios. I will burn everyone and everything down if anyone lay a hand on her, keep that in your mind," Xiran threatened him as he looked down at the cowering Carios who seemed to be in shock from the fits of anger that were rippling the usual calm demeanour of Xiran, and Aselia facepalmed herself.
"If you are done with your threats can we all sit down and talk, like civil people," Aselia pointed to the sofa and crossed her arms with a shake of her head.
Everyone moved, some willingly and some unwillingly, the silence in the air was disturbing to the point of opening the raw wounds everyone was trying to hide.
Xiran was huffing with anger because the people he trusted refused to follow his orders, Frila was terrified out of her wits and Carios was embarrassed and angry. Embarrassed that he had disappointed his Sire and angry at the elven girl, who was the root cause of this situation.
Frila and Carios sat down on one side of the sofa while Xiran settled on the other sofa which was opposite it. Aselia went and stood in front of them before taking a deep breath to calm herself and saying:
"The reason I wanted to talk to you both was because my actions affected you, directly. Since you are close to Xiran and my interactions with both of you are inevitable in the future as well, I wanted to clear the air between us, understanding the hurt I have caused you people, I own up to my actions. I want to apologise...." she was interrupted by Xiran.
"You do not need to apologize to anyone, Aselia. What happened is between you and me," he spoke with gritted teeth. His hands were fisted so tightly that Aselia was sure he would soon punch something.
"Xiran, it’s not only between us, it affected them too and kindly let me finish, don’t interrupt," Aselia gave him a stern look while his anger simpered some more, he remained quiet after that.
"Carios, I know that my actions have hurt you deeply, from what Frila has told me you have been with Xiran for a very long time and I have seen the respect you have for your Sire. I can’t turn back time but I can ensure that past mistakes will never be repeated. You don’t have to forgive me, I understand that would be an impossible endeavour, all I ask for is another chance. Can you give me another chance?"
Aselia pleaded and kept her eyes on the blue-eyed vampire who was sacred of his Sire and seemed to have become tongue-tied. He stole a terrified glance at Xiran who was watching him with a menacing look as if to yank him again on a single word he would say.
"Carios, look at me, don’t look at your Sire. He won’t say anything to you, you have my word, so tell me the truth," Aselia reassured him and Carios turned to look at her.
"Umm...trust is earned ma’am. I don’t think I trust you with Sire. He is my everything, I just don’t want you to hurt him, that’s all. I don’t have any personal vendetta against you, nor does Frila," he spoke in a small voice.
Aselia understood every one of his concerns before politely speaking: "I vow to you that I will earn your trust again and will take care of your Sire and no harm will come to you or Frila."
Carios and Frila both nodded their heads at her but she could see they were scared shitless of the glaring silver-headed vampire who sat opposite them.
"Leave," Xiran hissed at them and they scuttled to their feet and hurried up the stairs.
