Chapter 166: Getting Ready for Winter Gala

Aselia and Xiran had their breakfast/lunch and Xiran kept feeding her until she couldn’t look at food anymore. He was adamant about accomplishing his "Fattening Aselia" mission, as he called it.

Then he had an important meeting, so he left Aselia in her room and made his way toward the parking lot. Carios was waiting for him, as usual, to take him along.

Seeing Xiran approach, Carios quickly bowed his head and spoke in an apologetic tone: "Forgive me for my insolence Sire, I forgot my place."

Xiran stopped in front of him, he was still mad at Carios but Aselia had forbidden him to harm him in any way, besides he was like a brother to Xiran so he answered back in low voice: "The fact that you are still alive after threatening her shows how much I care about you. But, Aselia forever is off limits, whatever she did is between me and her and you don’t know her reasons, I do."

"Sire, I feel guilty for what happened, I can’t sleep properly because of it and thinking that harm might come your way," Carios mumbled.

Xiran placed his hand on Carios’s shoulder, his eyes softened: "I understand, we have been through a lot together and yet we are still here. Don’t worry we will see all the perils through. I just want you to be my support as well as Aselia’s. Can you do that?" Carios nodded to his question.

"Good, then let’s go we have a meeting to attend," Xiran began to move towards his car and Carios rushed forward to open his door.

Evening fell and Frila finally went to Aselia’s room to help her get dressed. Xiran would be here soon, she didn’t want to feel his wrath. Frila knocked on the door with a heavy heart.

"Yes," Aselia’s calm voice sounded through the door. Opening the door she entered and saw Aselia had spread the contents of the boxes on the bed. A silvery full-length gown, silver stilettos, a matching silver mask to cover the upper part of her face, a silver clutch, and a jewelry set.

"Frila, I am so sorry for earlier. I didn’t mean for the situation to escalate like that. I apologize," Aselia rushed over to her and took her hands in hers as she sincerely apologized. Her concerned eyes wandered to understand what emotions Frila held.

"No, no. It’s not your fault, I had warned Carios to not speak like that but he didn’t listen. You belong to Señor and he should have never threatened someone who belongs to him, he disobeyed Señor. I am relieved and astonished he is still breathing." Frila offered her a small smile but there was hurt evident in her eyes.

"How are you always a voice of reason, Frila?" Aselia had observed that despite being a vampire how composed and reasonable she was.

"My dear that’s exactly why Señor has given me this particular job. He needed someone rational and level-headed who could follow his orders and could handle every type of... You know," Frila left the sentence incomplete.

"Every type of girl he hired, including weirdos like me," Aselia completed the sentence for her with a chuckle.

"Oh! No, you are not a weirdo, just a very straightforward person with a heart of gold," she smiled at Aselia, a warm smile that reached her soft eyes.

Aselia liked her, she didn’t have many female friends and Frila was closest to being one. "We should exchange numbers so I can talk to you whenever I feel like it," Aselia took out her phone from her pocket and handed it to Frila so she could add her number.

After exchanging numbers Frila stated: "You should get ready Aselia, Señor will be here soon."

"Yes, help me out," Aselia answered while picking up the dress from bed and heading to the bathroom.

Once changed into the dress Elven girl stepped outside and Frila gasped at how beautiful she looked. "Such gorgeous gown, you look so very beautiful," Frila stared at her with starry eyes and helped her with the belt, and further adjusted her silver flowy dress.

"Thank you," Aselia beamed at her while opening her arms so Frila could adjust her belt.

After adjusting the dress Frila took out the make-up kits from the dressing drawers and began to do her magic, she used peachy shades which went well with her skin tone, and highlighted her cheekbones and jawline. For her eyes, Frila used a shade of silver and dark blue and highlighted them further with a liner and mascara. Although her lips were naturally red, Frila lightly gave them a peachy tint.

"Is the makeup of your liking, Aselia?" Frila inquired as Aselia glanced at herself in the mirror.

"I don’t use makeup, so not sure. But I guess it looks good," Aselia’s honest reply made Frila smile.

After the make up she brushed her newly cut hair and styled them with braids and hair accessories in a fashion that hid her ears well.

"You went for a new hairstyle? Short hair suits you," Frila asked with a smile.

"Yeah, Xiran hates them," Aselia’s heart clenched and her spirits dampened a bit remembering the torturous memories.

"Yes, Señor prefers long hair," Frila added as she adjusted the last of her golden-silvery strands.

Now it was time for jewelry, Frila brought the silver box which contained jewelry that had been sent along with the dress.

Opening it they found a v-shaped diamond necklace with the length of hundreds of tiny diamonds glistening in it under the soft light of the room, an almond-shaped radiant diamond hung in the middle, the necklace had a pair of matching elegant earrings and a bracelet.

"Wow, how intricate and beautiful, let’s put it on you," Frila took out the necklace and held it in her hands.

"Fancy and expensive, did Xiran use to order such jewelry for all his other girls too?" Aselia inquired eyeing the necklace, which she was sure worth millions.

Frila hesitated to answer that, she didn’t want Aselia to feel hurt for her Señor had always been extravagant with all of his girls. "Let me help you put this on," Frila dodged her question and tried to put the necklace around her neck. Aselia understood she didn’t want to answer her to avoid complicating the situation.

"I am already wearing the jewelry I want to wear Frila," she pointed to her winged necklace with a sly smile.

"You swap it for a few hours and can wear it back?" Frila suggested eyeing the pendant Aselia had been wearing.

"I don’t want to take it off," she pouted at Frila who began to wonder how to resolve the situation.

"Let’s keep it and wear this one on top of it, I am sure Señor will be happy to see you wearing the jewelry that has been sent along with the dress," Aselia sighed at her proposal but didn’t protest any further.

Frila put the jewelry on Aselia without taking off her beloved pendant which she kept brushing against her skin. The necklace hung perfectly against her slender neck and glowed with rainbow colours along her neckline.

Next was the intricately designed silver mask which was ornately decorated with tiny white gemstones. It had a silver ribbon at back to adjust it accordingly.

"You want to wear it now or take it along and wear it in the car?" Frila asked while holding the exquisite mask.

"Put it in my clutch, I will wear it in the car," Frila picked up the metallic silver clutch which had white beads on it, and placed the mask inside.

Now to complete the look only heels were left and they were at least 4 inches long, dread fell over Aselia seeing the size.

"Frila, how am I going to walk in these? I don’t wear pencil heels," Aselia stared at the heels as if they were about to bite her.

"Just try to keep yourself steady and take careful steps," Frila added apprehensively seeing the pained expressions on Aselia’s face, "Don’t worry, Señor will catch you in case you fell," she winked at Aselia who felt heat rise in her ears and cheeks and a shy smile adorned her peachy lips. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Alright, let’s get these on and I can practice walking until your señor comes," Frila assisted her with the heels and helped Aselia on her feet.

Frila then gave her a few tips on how to walk in the heels while carrying her gown along.

Aselia listened attentively and did as she was told. Although her walk was far from being graceful like a runway model, she was glad to not trip and fall on her face. Frila was surprised to see her carrying herself well and encouraged her further.

While the two women were immersed in the world of the walk, the door opened and Xiran stood there watching them, Aselia turned at the sound of the door opening and their eyes met.
