Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 195: Meeting Invitation
Aldridge was sitting in his office when he was informed that Agent 93 had returned from Anthos, his mission was to extract information about Phantom and his activities.
"Send him over, I want to talk to him," Aldridge informed the operator and replaced the phone.
A few minutes later there was a swift knock and Agent 93 entered with Aldridge’s permission.
"Welcome back Agent 93, take a seat," Aldridge pointed towards the seat, giving him a rare smile.
"Thank you, Sir!" The 25-year-old boy replied and sat down in front of his superior.
"What news have you brought?" Aldridge inquired, peeking at Agent 93 from above the rim of his reading glasses.
"I was able to locate and infiltrate one of Phantom’s hidden facilities. I disguised myself as the janitor and worked there for 3 months. No communication devices were allowed in the facility and had tight security but I tried to retrieve as much information on him as possible."
Agent 93 began his mission report and Aldridge was all ears as he questioned:
"Hmm, were you able to see him?"
"Only once and from a distance. He seems like someone in his late thirties at most and the man has the coldest pair of blue eyes I have ever seen on someone, but I can recognize him now."
Agent 93 explained to his boss. Avarance had only a handful of hunters and agents that were vampires and Agent 93 was one of them and he belonged to the continent of Anthos. Exactly the reason he was chosen for this mission.
Even some vampires were tired of the tyrannous rule of Phantom who operated from the shadows but was truly the one ruling Anthos and plunging it and their world into darkness with every passing day. Exactly the reason a few vampires had recently joined Avarance but they had been hired after a thorough check-up.
Agent 93 on the other hand had joined the organisation as a teenager and had been a valuable asset to them. He had mostly been working through other offices of the Avarance, located in different cities. But Aldridge had called him to headquarters for this special mission.
"So what does he do in these secret facilities of his?" Aldridge asked, unable to hold back any longer.
"From what I have gathered and seen, these are experimentation facilities. Some wild experiments are being carried out on all species, including vampires. He is trying to merge different species and create hybrids, tribrids and even chimeras."
He answered making Aldridge take a deep breath and respond:
"I see, this explains the vampire-elven hybrid we caught last month."
"Ohh, who caught it? And from where?" Agent 93 asked with his interest piqued.
"White Falcon and Black Hawk, from a town on the outskirts of Treskilaya," Aldridge’s thoughts went back to Aselia and her betrayal and he wondered where he had gone wrong in raising her.
"Sweet, both are like legendary hunters. I thought they were away on a secret mission," in the world of the hunters their names were well known.
"Yes, they completed it successfully but quite a bit of fiasco followed after that. Since you were away for three months, I am sure your comrades will soon fill you up with details of what transpired."
Aldridge was in no mood to go down that road again and be painfully reminded of how they had let Phantom’s son slip from their hands.
"Of course, I will hand over my complete mission report by tomorrow. But I think he is preparing to wreak havoc on other continents, so we have to be prepared for every kind of circumstance," Agent 93 replied his hands raking his jet-black hair.
"I would expect that from him, get me that report as soon as possible. So, I can forward it to the hierarchy of Tremias and Triskalya and hopefully can open talks with Druhias too, I have someone on that mission as well. Good job on completing this mission." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Thank you, Sir. It will be at your desk soon," Agent 93 got up and shook hands with Aldridge before leaving his office.
Aldridge got busy with work when he received another phone call, this time on his private number.
Seeing the caller ID, he instantly picked up the call. "Hello! White Falcon," he greeted her in his authoritative voice.
"Hello! Sir, how have you been?"
"Good, how is your vacation?" Aldridge questioned trying to figure out why she was calling him.
"Not bad, I have called to let you know that I have arranged the meeting you requested, four days from now. Xiran and Amonidus will be here. The venue will be Fritez City Mayor’s office. You have been given special permission to arrive, kindly bring Yurian with you," Aselia filled him in with a satisfactory tone.
"That’s wonderful, I knew you would be able to do it. I hope there would be no funny business," Aldridge was proud inside but he didn’t want to reveal that.
"Trust goes two ways, Sir. This is supposed to be a peace meeting and I hope both sides will refrain from condoning violence and sit together to find a solution to deal with the common enemy."
Aselia replied with a hint of sarcasm creeping up in her voice.
"That’s what we want too and I have acquired some vital information, I will be willing to share if Xiran is cooperative," Aldridge wanted every single piece of information he could get on Phantom, including his real name.
"He will be, make sure you are too, Sir. See you in four days. Have a good evening," Aselia was certain that Xiran will not harm them because he had given his word to her. What she didn’t know was that Xiran had another motive for agreeing to this meeting.
"Good job, I will see you soon. Take care of yourself by then," Aldridge cut the call after that. He felt a sense of satisfaction, everything had started to fall into place and he had a good feeling about this upcoming meeting.
