Chapter 211: Xiran’s Conditions

They stared at each other for some time, with Silver Wolf and Agent 93 making no effort to do as they were told. Yurian and Aldridge didn’t carry any weapons so Aselia had to interject again.

"Xiran is right, weapons are not needed at a peace meeting. We are in his city so we should abide by his rules."

"How can we know he won’t kill us instantly once we hand over our weapons," Silver Wolf’s words held animosity. His gaze shifted between Aselia and Xiran, certainly not pleased.

"You shouldn’t have come if you don’t trust him. Partner," Aselia spoke the last word with a bit of derision. Before Silver Wolf could snap back at her Aldridge spoke:

"It’s ok, we will respect the wishes of our host. Hand over your weapons, we need to build trust if we want this to work."

After Aldridge’s words, the weapons were handed over to Warise amidst some grunts and shaking of heads. Warise collected all their weapons and with Xiran’s permission, left the room.

"Let’s settle down, we will begin as soon as Amonidus arrives," Xiran declared and took Aselia’s hand before taking her along and settling down in the seat right next to the head seat. That one he reserved for Amonidus.

Aselia settled down right next to Xiran and Yurian was alongside her. Other men settled opposite them. The door opened again and Amonidus walked in all of his glory. His emerald-hued eyes shone with so much intelligence and perseverance.

"Good afternoon everyone! I hope I am not late," he greeted everyone with a warm smile. Everyone got up to meet him and he shook hands with them without showing any animosity to anyone, even Aldridge. Whom he had met before a couple of times.

He approached Xiran and hugged him, he always considered him like a son he never had. Xiran smiled at him and asked:

"I hope your journey was comfortable?"

"It was, I am glad to see you," Amonidus patted Xiran’s arm and then his curious gaze went to Aselia. Since her face was covered, he couldn’t see what the girl looked like.

"Hello!" she offered with confidence oozing from her.

"Hello!" he greeted her. Seeing his questioning eyes Xiran spoke up:

"This is Aselia, she is a hunter."

"Ah! Well, glad to make your acquaintance," a radiant smile adorned his face.

"Likewise," she spoke up keeping her voice low but firm.

"Let’s settle down and get this meeting started," Amonidus moved onto the front seat. Mazitine and two other vampires arrived with refreshments and everyone was served drinks, wine, and snacks.

The atmosphere in the room relaxed a bit as they began to mingle and eat. Amonidus had declared that they would eat and relax a bit before divulging into the peace talks.

Agent 93 was very curious to talk to Aselia and Xiran, he couldn’t stop staring at the couple. Her scent was intoxicating and he wondered if that was the sole reason Xiran had chosen her.

He also noticed how Xiran’s gaze went to her every few seconds, just to make sure she was there. While Aselia was in deep conversation with Yurian, both of them were enjoying some inside jokes and kept on giggling like kids.

"It’s an honour to finally meet you, White Falcon," Agent 93 finally mustered up enough courage to speak to her. Unlike other hunters, he was mesmerized by her story and had been very much looking forward to meeting her.

"Yeah! He has been pestering me with million questions about you throughout our journey," Yurian scoffed and continued:

"You have got yourself a fan."

Agent 93’s ears began to burn with the heat he felt at Yurian’s words and his gaze quickly went to Xiran. The mighty vampire didn’t look very pleased with what Yurian has said, his orbs blazed fire as if warning him to stay away from his girl but Aselia was giggling and said:

"That’s strange, I thought all hunters and agents hated me now."

"Not all, you are a legend and nothing can take that away from you," he replied, his eyes still roaming between Xiran and Aselia. Silver Wolf on the other hand was throwing him strange looks, not understanding his obsession with the couple.

"Well, I am no legend but glad to know there is someone who doesn’t hate me besides Yuri. And he told me you just completed a successful mission to one of Phantom’s hideouts? That’s quite an achievement, I want to have a detailed talk with you after this meeting," Aselia seemed rather impressed by the vampire agent and he felt himself blushing.

"You better not have any funny ideas regarding her and keep all interactions related to your work. She is taken," Xiran slowly growled at him and the poor guy gulped hard.

"Xiran, be nice. Let the poor guy say what he wants, no one is going to steal me from you," she slightly reprimanded him, her hand going to his and she squeezed it gently, trying to calm him down. But he didn’t calm down and remained tense.

The eating session was finally over and talks began but before anyone could put forward their agendas and share the information they had gathered Xiran gave an apologetic look to Aselia and addressed Aldridge:

"Before we dive into this peace meeting. I have some conditions. If you are willing to accept them, only then will I share the information I possess. If you don’t agree to my terms then I am sorry to say I won’t be able to share that sensitive information with you."

Aldridge eyed him cautiously but said: "Let’s hear your conditions."

"I want everyone to know that I am only attending the meeting because of this girl beside me. So, moving forward I don’t want her to be part of the revenge plans she has for my father. She will not be given any sensitive information related to him nor will she take part in any mission related to my father. I want her out of everything related to him."

Aselia’s heart dropped to her stomach listening to his hurtful words.
