Chapter 213: Peace Treaty Between Mortal Enemies

Once Aselia and Yurian were gone. Xiran took deep breaths to stay in control, she was going to be so mad at him. He could foresee it, the way she had spoken to him before leaving was evidence she was about to rain hellfire on him.

"A few more conditions before we move forward with the meeting. I want Yurian to be restored as her partner instead of this schumck," Xiran pointed with his long pointed finger toward Silver Wolf.

He opened his mouth in protest but Aldridge glared at him to stay quiet. Xiran continued:

"And restore her status as Platinum hunter, she deserves better after everything she has done for your organisation and is still doing. I am saying all this in her absence because she would never want me to, but you people have hurt her enough. So show her the respect she deserves."

"It will be done. She is very important and at the end of the day she is one of us and we take care of our people. So don’t worry, we will not let any harm come to her. I give you my word on this," Xiran nodded at Aldridge’s words, acknowledging him.

"I hope so, I won’t spare anyone who will dare bring her harm," the menacing look in Xiran’s eyes didn’t fade and Agent 93 couldn’t help but gush at him. Amonidus seemed surprised as well and wanted to hear the full story from Xiran in private.

"No one will harm her, that’s my promise. It’s time you keep up your promise and share with us the required information," Aldridge stated.

"I have a few things to add and ask as well. Firstly, who’s responsible for arranging this meeting? Because from what I have gathered from the time I have known Xiran, he is not fond of hunters, and recently you people have attacked his city without his permission," Amondius interjected to which Xiran explained Aselia’s involvement in the matter.

"I see, then I want the lady to be protected and given the proper respect she deserves," all the men in the room nodded at his words. He continued: "I also have information related to Phantom. Not many people know this but he and I used to be friends. We are the first of our kind, the firstborn vampires, all vampires belong to firstborn vampires. There were only a few hundred of us in the beginning but we drifted apart due to our ideology," small gasps from the curious men in the room could be detected. Amonidus continued:

"No one knows him better than I do, he hunts for power and control and he detests elves. There is a reason why he hates them so much but that is a story for another day. The point is, he wants to take over the world and rule it according to his rules and wishes and we need to stop him. So let’s help each other and share the information we have gathered."

Aldridge seemed impressed with the information that had been revealed to him. Their origin was a well-guarded secret that only firstborn vampires knew about and Aldridge would give anything to acquire that information.

"Can you tell us more about his origin story?" Aldridge probed.

"In time, for now, let’s see how we can help each other," Amonidus answered.

Xiran went first and revealed all the information about his father including his name and age. All the secret hideouts he knew about, his devastating powers, the lab-created hybrid hounds, his henchman that Xiran had recently captured, and other required information. Xiran left out everything related to his mother and himself though.

He then added: "You people can also set up an office here in my city. I will lend you the area where you can station your hunters, they will collaborate with my Chief of Police and carry out missions. But remember never at the expanse of innocent life."

"That’s our motto too, we don’t take innocent lives, only guilty. Unlike your father who killed my partner," Silver Wolf spoke up, his voice still holding animosity.

"Sorry to disappoint you but I can’t control the actions of my father. I can only command my own, and this city is a prime example of how I am trying to make a difference," Xiran glared back at him, his hands clasped each other over the table. It was evident that both men didn’t like each other.

"Let’s continue," Aldridge cut in and asked Agent 93 to reveal everything he had seen during his undercover mission. Xiran, Amonidus and Mazitine listened intently to the information being provided.

"So it’s safe to assume that he is planning an invasion but which continent he will target first is the real question here," Amondius continued once Agent 93 had finished.

"It could be any, we need to tighten security and for the next meeting, we need to involve the hierarchy of Treskilaya and Tremais as well," Aldridge replied with a sigh. He had already alerted them of an upcoming attack.

"Indeed, I would like you to set up Avarance offices in all major cities of Druhias. I would make sure more vampires join your ranks and train with your methods. Soon we will have some formidable warriors," Amonidus suggested and everyone approved of it.

After everyone had shared the information they had acquired, Mazitine jotted down all the points of the treaty to be signed between the two parties and it was signed by Xiran, Amonidus and, Aldridge. The three men then shook hands and promised a future where they will move forward in collaboration.

It was then time for lunch and for hunters to return to their headquarters. They all got up but before Mazitine could lead the guests to the dining hall, Xiran swiftly approached Silver Wolf and grabbed his collar with fire sizzling in his eyes:

"If you ever hurt her again, I will burn this peace treaty and end your pathetic existence. Stay away from her in the future," his eyes bore into his as if trying to torch his soul. Silver Wolf’s face held a look of disbelief at his abrupt action and hateful words.

"Xiran, we are the hosts here. So let’s not exaggerate the matter. Aldridge has given his word to us and I am sure he will keep it. No harm will come to the lady," Amonidus had to step in and Xiran finally pushed Silver Wolf back. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief, while Silver straightened his clothes giving Xiran one loathe some look before leaving.

Amonidus whispered to Xiran:

"Later, I want a word in private."

"Yes, I will find you after lunch," Xiran nodded his head. Amondius joined the guests while Xiran made his way to Aselia with a solemn expression and a thudding heart. Every step was like walking to the gallows, it was time to face her wrath.
