Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 234: Bad News
Back in the private jet, Xiran wanted Aselia to rest. So he took her to the resting area with a leather bed and settled her in.
"Sleep here with me," she patted the place beside her holding his arm while he held conflicting emotions on his face.
"If I slept I won’t be able to wake up nor will I have the strength to let you go, so I don’t think it will be a good idea."
"Please, you are too tired. Rest for a while with me, I know you are not going to get any sleep on your return as well," she tugged at his arm again and he couldn’t resist her anymore, giving her a dreamy smile he climbed into bed with her.
"Come here," he whispered and she gladly went into his awaiting arms, embracing him and he placed his nose in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent, storing it away in the crevices of his brain, never to be forgotten.
Aselia gently combed his hair with her fingers and whispered: "Sleep now, I am here with you."
It only took him a few minutes to fall asleep, like a baby safely tugged away. Aselia backed away a fraction so she could glimpse at his sleeping immaculate face. Calm like a sea and tranquil like a winding path surrounded by trees.
Aselia couldn’t help but trace his face with the tips of her fingers. She could never get used to his otherworldly beauty. Everything about him has been so exquisitely sculpted.
While Xiran slept, Aselia stayed awake for a long time, watching him, never taking her eyes off him. She watched him until his phone rang and those gorgeous eyes slowly opened.
Aselia made a ’clicking’ sound, annoyed with his phone for waking him up. He smiled at her and kissed the bulge of her neck before taking out his phone and checking the caller’s ID. It was Warise, he didn’t pick up, making a mental note to call him back after dropping Aselia off.
"You hardly slept," she complained wanting to take his phone and throw it far away.
"It’s ok, I will sleep later. Are you hungry? You must eat before we land," he inquired as he got up and Aselia sat with her head on his chest, he softly played with her hair.
"No, let’s just stay like this. I will eat later," her hand was resting on his face and her heart was burdened. She didn’t want to part with him.
"Leia, what is it?" he softly asked lifting her face so she would face him.
"Nothing. I am just happy and don’t want this beautiful day to end, you made it so memorable for me," she sighed so heavily in his arms that his grip tightened around her waist. His thumb grazed her lower lip, his gaze was soft on her.
"We will have plenty of such days, soon very soon and you will never have to part with me," Aselia nodded at his words while the pilot announced they were soon landing in Hambaria. Xiran kissed her softly not wanting to let go but he knew she was already feeling down so he had to be strong for her too.
Reluctantly he let her go and picked up her beanie from the bed to settle it on her head he then cupped her face and said:
"I will come to get you soon and once he is gone from our lives there will be nothing that would stop you from living with me."
"I can’t wait for that day to dawn," and she kissed his hand that was cupping her face. Their jet landed and with heavy hearts, it was time to be separated again.
Yurian was waiting for her as they descended the boarding stairs of the jet. She let go of his arm and with one final glance that held her vulnerable emotions, she slowly walked towards Yurian. He was crestfallen and his hands itched at his side to take her back in the jet and fly away with her tucked safely in his arms.
"Hey! You had fun?" Yurian asked merrily.
"I did," she gave him a slight smile and stood beside him to face Xiran.
"Thanks, Yurian, take care of her and yourself. I need to head back now," Xiran’s gaze was still focused on her and hers was on him.
"I will, you also take care," Yurian added as they bade goodbye to each other.
"Take care, I will miss you," Aselia spoke so very quietly that only he could hear her for these words were meant for him and he gave her one final smile that spread to his shining eyes before she got in the car and they drove away.
Xiran was focused on the retreating car when his cell phone rang again. He took it out and checked the caller ID and it was Mazitine. Something was wrong he could sense it or they wouldn’t be calling one after the other.
Xiran answered the call as he ascended the stairs and settled down in the seat, ready to head back.
"Señor!" the urgency in Mazitine’s voice made Xiran uneasy.
"What is it?" he inquired in a gruff tone.
"Señor Rivan forbade me from calling you but we are under attack, we are trying to handle the situation but there are too many rogues and not only vampires, all kinds of species as you people discussed in the meeting. I think it’s your father’s doing, return soon, please."
Xiran’s jaw became taut as the muscles of it twitched, he clutched the leather seat tightly to not stand up from the shock. He was thousands of miles away from his city and his father had attacked it.
"I am on my way, safeguard the innocent as much as you can. Inform the hunters and don’t let the city fall," he cut the call after this and went to inform the pilot to head back as quickly as possible. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Xiran then called Amonidus; who was away in talks with the hierarchy of Tremias and Triskalya. He informed him of the situation. Amondius promised to head back as soon as possible.
After that, he placed another call. As the call was picked up Xiran said:
"I need you."
