Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 257: Her Name Is
Aselia watched the puppy with wide eyes as a pleasant smile crept up on her face and she bent a bit to become face-to-face with it and said:
"Hello! Rony, aren’t you adorable?"
"Woof!" the puppy greeted his owner, happy to see her again. Yurian smiled as Aselia asked:
"Can I hold him?"
"Of course, he is all yours," Aselia extended her hands and picked him up in her arms and Rony began to yelp with happiness. It melted her heart and she hugged him.
"He is so cute Yuri, thank you so much."
"You are welcome and he is coming with us," Yurian declared while patting Rony who peacefully rested in Aselia’s arms, glad to be reunited with her. He purred ever so softly, his big eyes fixated on Aselia, he had seen it all, everything Xiran did to her, too bad he couldn’t speak or tell her owner about it.
Yurian and Aselia then packed their stuff. Aselia got dressed, hid her ears and drank the scent-masking serum so no one would be able to determine her real identity by her scent. She had decided to dye her hair after reaching their destination, for now, she had no time and desire.
Rony was placed in his dog carrier. Everything was placed in the jet which was to take them to their destination. Silver Wolf, Dr Sumeria and Aldridge bade them farewell. Wasp and Black Raven had left on a mission in the morning after their memories of what transpired here were erased by Xiran. So they were clueless about what was happening and Yurian wanted it to be kept this way.
Aselia’s gaze lingered for a final moment on the place that had been her home for the past 16 years. Dr Sumeria took her hands in hers and softly said:
"My dear! If anything ever bothers you, I am just a call away. Don’t ever hesitate."
"Thank you, I will keep that in mind," she answered and Dr Sumeria gave her a motherly hug.
"Don’t be a stranger, if you need help, I will just be a call away," Silver Wolf told Yurian as both men hugged each other and patted each other’s back.
"Inform us when you reach home safely. Don’t tell anyone about your whereabouts, especially on the phone," Aldridge offered them some final instructions and they nodded. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Bidding everyone farewell, Aselia and Yurian climbed into their organization’s jet and settled down. It finally took off taking them to a newer destination where new people and new adventures awaited them, leaving Tetrois City behind.
Aselia still had a headache so Yurian asked her to sleep, he didn’t want her to overthink and stress about her memory loss. He wrapped her in a blanket and she soon fell asleep.
But Yurian stayed awake, thinking about returning home was giving him anxiety. He hadn’t returned there in a very long time, that house held painful memories of that incident and from that day onward he avoided his parents.
He thought of himself as a failure in their eyes for not being strong enough to protect his sister, the very reason he left his home at a young age and stayed in a hostel while completing his studies.
After finishing his degree he joined Avarance to become a professional hunter. His parents had begged him countless times to return home but he didn’t have the guts to face them, until now.
For her he would do anything, anything to keep her safe and now he was strong enough to kill any rogue vampires. Plus, after Avarance set up a base in their town, there hadn’t been many attacks and it was considered one of the safest cities in Tremais.
He had called his parents after a long time and asked for their permission to return home. They were overjoyed to hear from him and wanted nothing else in the entire world than to have him back.
He had informed them about Aselia and they had gladly arranged his sister’s old room for her. It had been sitting empty for years now and it was time another sister occupied it.
Yurian never talked about his family so almost everyone thought he was another orphan just like them and he preferred it that way. Having parents and never returning to them always ate him with guilt so it was easy to presume he had no one.
He was still lost in thoughts when Aselia woke up while rubbing her eyes. Seeing him sitting with a dejected face she nudged him with her elbow and mischievously asked:
"Why so glum, Yuri? Missing Wasp?"
"God forbid. No," the intensity of his no told Aselia that she had become worse in the last year.
"Still giving you the trouble I see," Aselia chuckled and continued, "tell me I kicked her ass in training."
"You did more than a few times and it was worth watching," how Yurian dreamt of telling all that had transpired but he couldn’t do it without including Xiran in the conversation and that was one name everyone wanted to avoid around her now.
"Good, I don’t like it when she gives you trouble."
"She can’t do it anymore, we no longer live in headquarters," Yurian sighed and a heaviness escaped him while Aselia added:
"I know, it had been my home for so long that I feel so weird moving away, I feel like everything about me is about to change."
"Yes, and on that note, you have to think of a name so I can forge papers for you, open an account and issue you a sim card," Yurian reminded her.
"Oh! Yes. Let me think. I want it to be closer to my current name. So how about Alia or Selia?"
"No, wait, wait. I know how about Leia, it’s short and I like how it sounds. What do you think?" Aselia innocently questioned her partner, unbeknownst that she was indeed choosing a name Xiran had already given her.
"I think Leia sounds great. It’s short and suits you well," Yurian agreed with her.
"Then it’s settled, I am Leia Harbres from now onwards," she declared with finality.
