Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 305: Lies
The next day Xiran woke up late. He was still clutching her nightgown and somehow he had slept through the night. It had been a long time since he had slept so much and that too without waking up.
His phone rang and he saw it was Rumail. Xiran answered it and Rumail informed that he and Frila were headed this way. Understanding the purpose of their visit he took a deep breath.
Getting up he gently folded Aselia’s gown and placed it back in the cupboard before heading down to his room. He bathed and changed into fresh clothes.
Meanwhile, Rumail and Frila had arrived and were waiting for him in his living room. Xiran entered it and settled down opposite them. His silver hair which fell below his shoulders now was still damp.
"Good morning Señor!" they greeted him.
"Good morning! Did you hear from Amoris? Was she able to see her?" Xiran quickly got to the point which was itching him from the moment Amoris had left.
"She did, Aselia is doing fine. She only had a minor accident..." Rumail’s rest of the sentence got stuck in his throat at the look Xiran gave him. It seemed like a burning fire had descended in his Señor’s eyes ready to blaze him where he sat. His jaw was so tight that Rumail was afraid he might burst a vein as it popped out in his temple.
"WHAT? HOW?" his voice thundered and Frila shivered sitting close to Rumail and knew they made a wise choice of not telling him about what had happened last night.
"S...she fell from her bike," Frila meekly spoke from next to Rumail. Xiran’s whole body felt an electric shock. Did she injure herself? How hurt was she?
"That fucking bike...someone should burn it. Rumail tell Amoris to burn her bike so she can never ride it again," he ordered fisting his hands at his sides. Rumail had to take a deep breath before continuing to his next words:
"Señor, Amoris had to head over to her next mission and that wouldn’t have been a good idea. It was a very minor accident a few days ago, she had a tiny wound on her leg. Aselia is already healed and back to work," a burden seemed to lift off Xiran’s heart at those words.
’If it was days ago then what was it that he experienced last night?’ Xiran wondered.
"Are you telling the truth? You sure she didn’t have a major accident?" Xiran glared at them as if the accident was their fault.
"We are. Yurian confirmed it. Amoris saw her last night and she was in perfect health," somehow Xiran didn’t believe them.
"Where was Aselia last night? And what was she doing?" Xiran’s questions made their hearts skip a beat but they had come prepared with matching stories.
"She went to get a tattoo..." Rumail slowly answered.
"Tattoo?" Xiran repeated behind him. Xiran was not fond of tattoos, he didn’t like inking one’s natural body and didn’t want one on her flawless skin. Forgetting that he didn’t own her anymore.
"Yes," Frila got up and showed him the picture Yurian had forwarded her of the tattoo she had gotten.
Xiran went rigid seeing the two white wings she had gotten tattooed on her slim neck. He didn’t know if to cry or laugh. He stared at it for a long five minutes, clutching the phone hard. Frila feared it would break any second.
The neck he had kissed and sucked blood from countless times now had a tattoo of his wings, she still remembered them. And a desire to kiss her there surged through him and burnt him all over.
He finally lifted his head and met the four curious eyes that were gaping at him.
"What is she doing? Biking, drinking in bars and getting tattoos. Does she think she is a teenager going through her puberty? Or is she planning to join a gang? Why is she turning into a hooligan?"
Frila lowered her head at his questions and Rumail pursed his lips, both tried hard to not laugh at his questions. He was acting overly jealous and his words showed how concerned he was about her. He had let her go but he hadn’t really let her go. They didn’t think it was possible for him to ever do that.
"She is just trying to live her life Señor. Yurian said at times she feels empty so she is trying to fill up that..." Frila couldn’t say the next few words.
"That gap I left in her," Xiran sternly completed her sentence. His eyes had gotten so cold like the storm clouds on the horizon. The atmosphere in the room suddenly turned chillier and none of the two younger vampires answered back.
Seeing both of them had become tongue-tied Xiran spoke again:
"Is that all? Or something else happened too last night?"
"That’s all," Rumail’s voice cracked a bit as he lied and avoided making eye contact with Xiran. And Xiran narrowed his eyes at them.
"You people forgot that I share a bond with Aselia and something happened to her last night. Either Amoris didn’t see or she did and you people are hiding it from me. So which one is it?"
"Must be the former then because Amoris didn’t see anything else," Rumail quickly added and Frila fervently nodded. Both tried to keep poker faces.
"Hmmm," Xiran’s hand clutched his forehead and moved to his hair as he flipped them back in frustration.
"Thank Amoris from my side for checking up on Aselia," Xiran finally added. His demeanour still exuded rigidity.
"I will, Señor."
"You people can go now. Frila forward me that picture and keep me posted daily about her health and whatever Yurian tells you," he ordered as both of them got up to take their leave before their lies were detected by him and they would get into some big trouble.
"Yes, Señor. Have a good day," they bowed and left.
Back in the car Rumail and Frila took deep breaths to calm themselves.
"Rumail, if he discovers we lied to him about something that big. He will not only kill that guy who kissed Aselia. He will also kill us," Frila spoke in a trembling voice.
"I know Fri, let’s hope our lies hold and he never discovers it," Rumail was feeling agitated and disappointed for he had lied so blatantly to him. What will he do when he will discover the truth?
