Chapter 342: His Family

The stormy clouds covered the skies of Wilsburj on that fateful night. The thunder rumbled across the dark skies, predicting the ominous events that were about to unfold in the House of Wilfrid.

Armaros stood outside his family house. The brown and black exterior of the mansion was doomful, to say the least. The fire of revenge danced in his glacial eyes.

He walked to the black door of the mansion and threw it open. It creaked on its hinges and made an eerie sound which announced his ill-fated arrival. Armaros silently walked inside and his brother was the first one to see him.

Their eyes met and the atmosphere around them turned extremely chilly as if all the happiness and warmth had been sucked out of the house. Not that it ever had any for Armaros.

"What have you done?" Robrick squeaked out in horror seeing him all bloodied.

"What I was destined to do," his throaty voice was low as he crossed the distance between them in a split second and grabbed his brother by the neck. Armaros could hear the elevated heartbeat of his brother and the horror that had crept on his handsome face.

"What the hell are you doing?" his brother tried to jerk away his steely hands but to no avail.

"Cleansing this kingdom of the scum, that is elves," he pressed his brother’s neck hard and twisted it giving him a quick death. His body jerked and became limp in his arms. He released him and let him fall to the ground.

His sister and mother tumbled out of their rooms, hearing the commotion and seeing what he had done, they screamed in horror. Both women fell to their knees near Robrick’s body.

"Robrick," his mother yanked him closer to herself and shook him. His sister began to wail loudly. But Robrick was gone. Tears of anguish flowed from their eyes and laying Robrick down his mother approached him with her hand raised, a flurry of anger and disappointment flashed in her beautiful orbs.

"How dare you," her whole body shook in outrage, her face was grievous seeing her favourite son lying on the ground. She tried to slap him but he caught her hand and scoffed at her:

"How dare me? You never even offered me a smile. Your nonsensical hatred made me question my existence every day. You couldn’t love your child just because he was not like others. You are a despicable woman and you have no right to live. This world would be a better place without you."

His words made her shriek in horror, she couldn’t believe he would talk like that to her. For her, he was someone with no spine, whom she could ridicule night and day.

"Exactly why I wished you should never have been born. I hope you never find happiness as you destroyed mine," the hatred in his mother’s eyes and the venomous words she had uttered pierced his stony heart. Although he had hardened it so he won’t feel any remorse for what he was about to do, still it hurt him deeply. His mother’s words and actions always pained him severely.

His hands clasped around his mother’s neck and he began to squeeze the life out of her as she watched him with revulsion engraved on her face, meant only for him. Never in his life, had he received a single smile or a word of appreciation from the woman he was about to snuff the life out of.

His sister ran up to them and fell on his feet and began to beg. "We are sorry, we were always mean to you Armaros. Forgive us. Let the mother go, I beg you."

"D...don’t beg h...im," his mother instructed her daughter as the last of her life was squeezed out of her body and her beautiful green eyes became glassy and closed forever. Something inside him broke, taking the life of the person who had birthed him and his aura went extremely dark.

He let her go and scurried back as if afraid of the woman he had just killed. His sister caught her mother’s lifeless body in her arms and wailed in tormented cries, hugging her close to her chest.

The thunder rumbled outside and its light fell on the face of the blue-eyed vampire, who stood like a grim reaper, seeking out the souls of those who had wronged him. His face was void of emotions and yet his insides screamed and his heart had broken into million pieces.

All he wanted was to be loved by his family, and for them to accept him as one of their own, to accept him as part of the family. But they refused to do so and now he had been transformed into a monster to a point of no return.

Lightning struck against the gloomy skies again and the deafening sound that followed smothered the cries of his sister who met the same fate as his mother did.

With an unreadable expression on his face, he took their bodies outside and dug up the ground in the backyard. He buried his family in nameless graves and levelled the ground. So no one would know what tragedy befell them or will ever find their burial site.

He wanted them to become nameless, only he would continue the family name. He then sat on the same ground watching the storm brewing up with icy eyes, eyes that will never warm again.

Meanwhile, Hildara had gone into labour and her shrieks matched the lightning outside.

"Breathe and just a little more push. You are doing great my love," Rilias instructed as he squatted opposite her open legs, seeing the head of the baby that was being pushed outside. His heart was fluttering in excitement and yet he worried for his wife as well.

"Ahhhhhhh," Hildara pushed one more time, her whole body was covered in sweat, her hair had been plastered to her skin and excruciating pain travelled her body.

"Yes, here it comes, just a little bit," and Rilias stretched his hands to collect the little bundle of joy Hildara had pushed out. He quickly wrapped the baby in a small blanket, his face grinning with the frivolous joy he was experiencing. He showed his wife the baby girl with golden hair and the greenest eyes he had ever seen.
