Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 352: His Name Is Xiran
News of the attack on Phantom reached Aselia. Since so many hunters aided in the attack, it was a hot topic. She knew he was the same vampire they had been trying to keep her safe from. Exactly the reason she wasn’t made part of the attacking unit.
From the reports she read it was apparent that he was the most dangerous vampire in their world and being a vampire hunter, she had no recollections or information on him. This was odd, she knew she lost part of her memories but why did she forget everything about a particular vampire?
She was sitting in her office going through the details of the report. It said that Silver Wolf had led the attack against him, but the enemy escaped at the last minute.
She was pinching the bridge of her nose as she concentrated on the details and tried to make sense of it all.
"Hey! Beautiful, good morning," Jaguar had entered her office and sauntering over plopped down opposite her.
"Hey!" she didn’t lift her eyes to greet him and he sensed she was lost.
"Anything interesting you are reading?" he casually inquired, clasping his hands in front of him.
"Report on the attack they carried out on Phantom," she answered, still lost in the pages of the report.
"Ahh! The one where hunters took all the credit," he had this mysterious glint in his eyes. Aselia’s head whipped to where he sat and she threw him a scrutinized look.
"What do you mean?"
"You are a smart girl. As much as hunters are good at their job, they can’t take on the world’s most powerful vampire on their own. They had help from other channels," he threw her a lop-sided grin and winked mischievously.
"What other channels?" his words threw her a bit. She had been thinking along the same lines.
"My previous organisation and Phantom’s own son," Jaguar didn’t know the history between Aselia and Xiran but he had been forbidden by the person who sent him here and Aldridge to ever talk about Xiran or Phantom in front of her. He had just been asked to keep her safe.
But he was getting tired and from what he had seen, she was extremely smart and headstrong. He didn’t understand why they wanted to keep her so sheltered. He was slowly falling in love with her and desperately wanted her to like him in return. So he decided to tell her something extra, something she didn’t know.
"Phantom has a son? And he is against him?" Aselia was flabbergasted. Why didn’t she know about this? If he had led the attack then hunters must know about his existence. Were they allies?
So many questions bombarded her brain.
"He has two sons but this information is kept classified, they are basically ghosts just like him. You won’t even find anything about them on the internet and media. They own the right people," Aselia was stupefied, she watched him with her mouth slightly ajar before asking:
"Both his sons are against him?"
"No, only one. Apparently, he detests his father and wants to kill him. The other one supports his father."
"How do you know about all this?" she closed the file, all her attention was on him now.
"I have my sources," he shrugged his shoulders, giving her his favourite smile.
"This son of his got a name?" she asked in a serious tone.
"He does but I am forbidden to share all this information with you. I have already said more than I should have," Aselia got up and walked up to where he sat, she slightly leaned against the table right in front of him, so her back was touching the table.
"His name, please. I promise I won’t tell anyone," she requested, her voice sounding a bit desperate. This is what she liked about Jaguar, he didn’t hide stuff from her. He was pretty straightforward, just like her.
"Not even Yurian?" he raised his left brow at her, analysing if he should trust her.
"Not even him," Aselia knew Yurian had been hiding some part of the truth related to Phantom and that accident she didn’t remember anything about. This was her chance to get some answers.
"Sit on my lap and I will tell you," he seductively eyed her and she sent an irritation-filled glare his way.
"You are an ass," she held out her hand and he pulled her in his lap, wrapping his arms around her he whispered:
"Xiran! his name is Xiran. But you didn’t hear it from me and I don’t know anything about him," and taking her hand in his he slowly kissed its back.
"Xiran!" she whispered, a chill going down her body and settling in her stomach. She could feel goosebumps on her skin. A sense of calmness took over and she was lost, disoriented from her surroundings.
Jaguar slowly breathed out in the crook of her neck:
"Falcon!"
"Umm!" she was jolted back to reality and turned to find him in her proximity, he was keenly watching her.
"Do hunters know about Xiran?" she knew it was a dumb question. But she couldn’t bring herself to understand why she was being lied to.
"He led the attack and Silver Wolf accompanied him. So what do you think?" Jaguar had made a mental note to ask why Xiran was a forbidden topic around her. When he was given this mission, he had no plans of falling in love with her so he didn’t go into details. But now he wanted to know everything there was about her and this mystery surrounding her. He had planned to introduce her to his family, especially his parents and sister.
"I see," she said slowly, almost in a disappointed way and leaned on his chest. He affectionately rubbed her arm
"Let me take you on a long drive. It will clear your mind. Don’t think too much, I will get more answers for you," he said in her ear and Aselia nodded her head.
"Let’s go," she got up, but there was this heaviness around her heart, which was suffocating and drowning her. Jaguar led her outside and they both left on his bike.
