Just as he was about to further strike Bologue, he suddenly discovered that Bologue had disappeared. The beams lost their target, began to slow down, and disintegrated into patches of light feathers. Then, as if finding a new target, they rushed wildly towards Morrison.

Just as Morrison was puzzled about what was happening, he saw the chains extending from the Secret Sword whip towards the back of him.

In the instant he turned his head, Morrison saw a ghostly face.

Bologue was too adept at feinting. The Iron Spear he threw was wrapped with a Phantom Dagger. The moment the exchange was complete, the Face of Horror fully erupted, shaking Morrison’s mind.

Morrison froze for a second, and it was in this second that the Vengeful Saw Axe swung down, slicing into his shoulder.

The fully awakened Vengeful Saw Axe gnawed at Morrison’s body like a beast. The serrated edges of the axe blades were like the sharp fangs of a monster, forcefully writhing and intertwining, biting fiercely, producing an ear-piercing cutting sound.

Under the dual influence of the Face of Horror and the Vengeful Saw Axe, watching such a terrifying scene unfold on his own body, Morrison uncontrollably howled in agony.

Morrison was a conceited person, but Bologue’s terror completely shattered his confidence, making him insane like an ordinary person.

Ether erupted, and Morrison tried to wield Light Feathers to repel Bologue, but the Ether barely surged for a moment before it scattered and leaked, as if there was a breach in his Alchemy Matrix.

While the Vengeful Saw Axe chewed on Morrison’s flesh, Bologue was also plundering Morrison’s Ether on a grand scale. Seeing his horrified expression, Bologue instead burst into laughter.

The Vengeful Saw Axe devoured the muscle and tendons on his shoulder, exposing the white of the bone. The interlacing bladed teeth continuously ground the bone, emitting a deafening friction sound.

Bologue released the Vengeful Saw Axe and grabbed Morrison’s throat. With a gust of wind sweeping by, the Storm Feather ripped through the dust and precisely sliced through the wing rising from Morrison’s back.

The two fell toward the ground. Under Bologue’s suppression, Morrison moaned in intense agony, his eyes filled with despair and fear, his body twitching uncontrollably, powerless to struggle in the face of impending death.

The Vengeful Saw Axe slowly pulled downward, Morrison’s breath grew weaker, his flesh was shredded into pieces like cotton, blood gushed onto the saw teeth, and he felt that this sinister weapon seemed even more excited, craving more flesh and blood, hoping more human lives would be consumed and devoured by it.

"No, no, no!"

The sharp grinding saw sound echoed in Morrison’s ears. The scene was vividly real and nauseating, prompting an involuntary shiver.

Morrison’s prayers seemed to be answered, for Bologue unexpectedly withdrew the Vengeful Saw Axe, halting the slaughter of Morrison.

"Ha... ha..."

Morrison panted painfully. With each rise and fall of his chest, a large amount of blood was squeezed out. Fortunately, he still had a small amount of Ether within him, enough to sustain Etherealization and keep him from dying.

Footsteps approached from afar. Palmer stepped over the ruins, striding toward them with a grim look in his eyes.

Morrison’s psyche was utterly shattered by the intertwined fear. He shouted loudly, "I surrender!"

They were field staff of the Order Bureau, and they needed intelligence. Morrison believed they wouldn’t kill him outright.

"What do you want! I can give you everything!"

Bologue didn’t respond. Palmer, however, came in front of Morrison. He glanced at this weakened, nearly dying guy, then looked at Bologue.

After a moment of silence, Palmer removed the worn black hood, agreeing, "You’re right."

He whispered, "Violence begets peace."
