Endless Debt
Chapter 1092 - 116: Wolf Spirit (2)
Soon, the area was cleared by Bologue, leaving only a few figures behind.
Mamo was in a much better state. As a Seeker of Glory, he possessed a certain level of resistance, but in the short term, he couldn’t escape the state of ether exhaustion and had little impact on the battlefield.
"I can’t leave."
Just as Bologue prepared to escort Balder away, Balder struggled to his feet, "Someone needs to protect the Iron Coffin."
Red Dog’s target was the Iron Coffin. As long as it was there, he was firmly trapped here, but besides Lebius, someone else needed to stay and guard the Iron Coffin.
It wasn’t that Bologue didn’t trust Lebius; he just believed that comprehensive preparation was necessary.
"It’s alright," Bologue said, "I’ll protect the Iron Coffin. You being here will only hold me back."
Balder was silent for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright."
There was no point in arguing. He wasn’t good at fighting, being a Prayer Believer, so Balder’s presence or absence made little difference to the battle.
"Go protect the wounded."
As Bologue spoke, the earth heaved in waves, swiftly carrying Balder off the battlefield.
Then he looked at Mamo. The Seeker of Glory was currently fragile. If killed here, it would severely damage the Order Bureau’s morale.
Mamo nodded. He understood this unspoken agreement. Bologue raised his hand, the ground writhed, lifting Mamo and quickly sending him off the battlefield.
Finally, there was Aimou. Bologue intended to send her away as well, but Aimou shook her head vigorously.
"I can help you, Heart Overlapping Shadow, just like earlier."
Bologue hesitated, but Aimou stubbornly shouted, "I won’t pry into your thoughts! One thing at a time!"
"No... I just..."
Always decisive, Bologue now appeared hesitant. Aimou took a difficult step forward, then grabbed Bologue’s hand.
"Just what? Not ready?"
Aimou held the upper hand, speaking softly to Bologue, "Bologue, you were once a soldier. You should understand these principles better than I do. The world won’t give you time to prepare."
"This sounds too crazy."
Bologue disliked indecision. Regardless of what would happen, resolving the current predicament was more important to him.
"Is this really crazy?"
Aimou questioned. Her hand began to blur, overlapping with Bologue’s, eventually merging.
It had been a long time since Bologue had acted alongside Aimou. Since Aimou’s ascension, Bologue had been somewhat resistant to her power to explore inner depths. There was no time to think about this now; Bologue could only adapt.
"This feeling is so strange," Bologue thought.
"Isn’t this the first time? What’s strange?" A voice echoed in his mind.
"Everything is strange... You feel more real," Bologue said, "I can clearly sense another soul inhabiting my body."
"Don’t you like your new roommate?" Aimou asked. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"No... I’ve just never been this close to someone," Bologue calmly replied.
The simple words made Aimou fall silent. Bologue didn’t notice this. When they overlapped, Aimou always kept silent so as not to disturb Bologue. Bologue was becoming accustomed to it.
Aimou’s participation was like a backup energy source, replenishing Bologue’s ether, allowing him to continue fighting.
To others, Bologue’s fearsome nature was not just his abilities or deadly intent. More so, Bologue achieved a nearly perpetual motion in every sense.
The Undying Body kept him from falling, while the Soul Sucker allowed him to plunder infinite ether. Together, they enabled Bologue to sustain himself virtually endlessly.
With Aimou’s enhancement, Bologue’s power was further strengthened. The vague ether became clearer, as if Bologue could see every strand’s direction.
Suddenly, Bologue realized that with Aimou’s help, he might cross boundaries and touch that mysterious Extreme Realm. Unfortunately, now wasn’t the time to train abilities.
While Bologue was evacuating others, the battle between Red Dog and Lebius continued.
Under the protection of Protection·Eternal Labor, the Heart-devouring Song had no effect on Lebius. Facing Red Dog’s Extreme Realm strike, Lebius’ wolf pack struggled to suppress Red Dog.
The situation reached a stalemate, with Red Dog’s laughter continuously echoing in the fierce fight.
"Lebius, after all these years, is this all you’ve got?"
Red Dog wielded the Immovable Sword, the power of the Extreme Realm spreading rapidly. As it scattered the wolf pack, it also sent a shockwave outward, sweeping away the mist and cracking the ground.
Lebius remained unmoved amidst the impact.
Though he had also ascended to Defender, there was still a considerable gap compared to Red Dog, who had been at this Tier for years. The Alchemy Armor could only help Lebius bridge the gap to a certain extent.
But the problem is, if Lebius had external aids, wouldn’t Red Dog have them too? The outcome of this battle remained uncertain.
Seeing Lebius still maintaining that composed demeanor, Red Dog wanted to witness Lebius descend into madness, just like before.
If he couldn’t affect Lebius, then he would affect others.
